Meet Ghost, an adorable 11-year-old Yorkie weighing about 6 pounds. This tiny guy may be a senior, but don’t let his age fool you. Ghost is very active and loves his short walks, car rides, and, most of all, being with his person. He adjusts quickly to new environments and made himself right at home with his foster family, even sleeping with them his very first night.Ghost is an affectionate little shadow who gets attached to his person quickly and loves to follow them from room to room. When it’s time to snuggle, he is happiest curled up on his person’s chest with his head resting on their shoulder. He also loves sleeping with his people at night. One of his cutest habits is spinning in circles while barking when he wants to go outside or be picked up!Ghost is house-trained and will bark when he needs to go outside, but he needs frequent potty breaks. He can also be quite vocal when he wants something, even when his people are home. Because of his vocal nature and suspected separation anxiety, Ghost needs a home where someone is around most of the time. He would not be a good fit for a home with shared walls, such as an apartment or townhome, and his foster recommends a single-family home.Ghost gets along well with small dogs, especially those around 15 pounds or less. He appears nervous around larger dogs, so a home with small, dog-friendly canine companions would be the best fit. His history with cats is unknown, and he has not been around children in his foster home. Because of his very small size, older, respectful children age 13 and up would be recommended.Ghost is not interested in toys and has only a few teeth, so he prefers soft, chewy treats over hard ones. He enjoys two short walks each day and would love a family who can include him in their adventures, especially car rides. His curious nature and tendency to trot or run mean he must be kept on a leash whenever he is outside unless he is in a securely fenced area.Ghost is a very sweet, affectionate little guy with a big personality. Meet Layla she is a 5yr old overweight yorkie. Owner died at 92 and daughter could not keep her. She is great with people and barks at cats good with dogs. Is house broken walks on a leash. I’m sure her weight has to do with eating people food- but not getting any from me. She is a lap pup. Loves attention. Had some dry skin from fungal infection- on antibiotics and getting baths- full vetted and ready to go to new home.

He is gentle, quiet, and easy to love — the kind of dog who is simply happy to have a warm home, a soft blanket, and kind people nearby. He enjoys exploring at his own pace, lounging on the couch, and taking peaceful afternoon naps tucked into something fuzzy. Ripley is blind, so he appreciates a calm, thoughtful home where people move gently around him and talk to him before picking him up. Loud noises and abrupt movements can startle him, but with patience and reassurance, he settles in and makes wonderful company. He may be shy at first, especially after all he has been through, but he warms up beautifully when given time and kindness. Outside, Ripley loves to wander, sniff, and take in all the smells, so he would be happiest with a secure fenced yard where he can safely explore. He gets along perfectly with other friendly dogs, but he could also do well as an only dog if his people are home most of the time. He has not shown much interest in toys, but he is a big fan of soft treats and cozy couch time. Ripley is affectionate, well-mannered, gentle, and sweet in the quietest way. He does not ask for much — just a safe place to land, a patient family to love him, and a soft blanket to call his own. Gracelyn is the kind of dog who has never met a stranger! As far as she’s concerned, everyone she meets is a long-lost friend. She’s friendly, confident, and wonderful with dogs, cats, and kids. Gracelyn is potty trained, though she’ll appreciate a consistent routine for her first few days as she settles into a new home. She enjoys playing fetch and has moderate energy, making her a great balance of playful and easygoing. She may bark when someone comes to the door, but don’t worry, she settles quickly once she knows everyone is safe and sound. Her ideal day is simple: walk, play, nap: in that order. If you’re looking for a social, confident, affectionate companion who is ready to be everyone’s new best friend, Gracelyn may be your girl! Gracelyn is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/26/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon.
