Story
Meet Koko
Koko is a petite under 2-year-old with the heart of a yorkshire terrier and the charm of a shitzu who prefers the company of men. Shy at first, this 7lb dynamo quickly melts into a puddle of affection for her men. She loves her plush toys and playing games like tug and fetch. With a low to moderate energy level, Koko is the perfect blend of playful and chill for a male only household with no small children.
Koko is housetrained and content alone- what more could you ask for? She will occasionally use a wee pad if not walked every 7 hours during the day - but she prefers to do her business outside and has not needed to use a wee pad at all in the last 2 months at her fosterhome. She's a walking enthusiast and maintains a polite distance from other dogs. Tolerant of canine companions but not keen on deep bonds. She is crate trained and is best off sleeping in her own bed (not in yours), crated or not, overnight
Adopters looking for a little dog to share their bed at night, won't be a good fit for Koko. Sleeping with her person has proved to make her insecure which may leads to posssesive and spicy behavior towards anyone approaching her owner in the home. She is ok to be on all other furniture and mutual couch naps or fine! Her foster has been working on this behaior and they or our professional trainer will be avialable to visit and assit you, post adoption, if she regresses in her progress.
Obedience training turns into a joyous affair with Koko's love of salmon skin or dried liver treats. Bathing, brushing, and even nail trims are met with calm acceptance. Due to her history of becoming possesive of females, Koko will only be adopted to an all male houshold, without children under 13.
Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

We are cannot respond to general email inquiries or partially completed applications as we are an all-volunteer run rescue.
