Story
This tiny gentleman is Walter, a sweet and sensitive tiny Yorkie weighing just under 7 pounds. At about 8 or 9 years old, Walter is the kind of dog who melts hearts without saying a word. He's quiet, gentle, and gets along beautifully with other dogs and even cats.
Walter does startle a little easily, so he’s looking for a calm, adults-only home where he can truly relax and feel safe. Once he feels secure, his affectionate nature really shines through.
He's neutered and currently getting his vaccines updated. Like many small older pups, Walter has just a few teeth left—so his adorable tongue often peeks out, adding to his unique charm. He eats well from a raised bowl. We’re treating him for possible chronic dry eye. After a few weeks on eye drops, we'll have a clearer picture of his needs there.
If you’re looking for a quiet companion who will happily curl up beside you and ask for little more than love and comfort, Walter just might be your guy.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!
2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.
3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)
4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
