Story
Heidi is a black and tan yorkie that weighs about 6 pounds. Her date of birth is 6/15/21. Heidi is a retired working girl and is ready to find a retirement home where she can be treated like a little princess. She is a little shy, as working girls do not get a lot of socialization with humans, but she is so very sweet and is learning just how loving humans can be and she loves to be held. She is great with other dogs and she and Carli, another working girl, are best friends. Heidi is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Her adoption donation is $1200 plus $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Heidi, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Introducing Harvey, the pint-sized pup with a giant heart (and bark!) Warning: This bio may contain excessive levels of cuteness and goofiness. Hey there, potential furever fam! Meet Harvey, a tail-wagging ball of energy trapped in a (relatively) small dog body. Don't let his size fool you, though. His spirit animal is a Great Dane, and he has the loyalty and love to match! Here's what you can expect with Harvey in your life: The ultimate shadow: He may not be able to carry your groceries, but he can become your personal shadow, following you from room to room and offering moral support (and maybe some enthusiastic head nudges for pets). A cuddle monster: Don't be fooled by his feisty side. He also loves to snuggle up on the couch and be showered with affection. Ear scratches are his ultimate weakness – just one scratch and he will turn to mush in your hands! A certified goofball: His playful personality will have you laughing every day. Think of him as your personal clown (with a wagging tail instead of a red nose). A lover, not a loner: While he is independent, he doesn't do as well left alone for long periods. Apartments might not be his jam (thanks to his impressive vocal range), but a house with a yard where he can unleash his powerful voice would be best. Please reach out to info@joyrides.org if you'd like to learn more about adopting Harvey! Harvey is being fostered in Houston, TX and is available locally, within driving distance or out of state. He would come to his new home via professional transport. Age: 10 yrs Weight: 13 lbs Dogs? possibly! depends on the dog so he is happy to chat about it! Cats? no thanks! Kids? unknown Ok for apartment life? probably not

Story
Cujo Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Meet Cujo, a distinguished almost 12-year-old senior unaltered male Yorkie who is as charming as they come. Despite his age, Cujo is still full of love and has plenty of affection to share with his forever family. Cujo gets along well with other dogs and cats, showing that his friendly nature knows no bounds. However, due to his age and size, we believe that small children may be too much for him to handle. Don't let his name fool you – Cujo is anything but fierce. In fact, he's a wonderfully friendly and loving companion who is sure to steal your heart with his gentle nature and kind eyes. If you're looking for a loyal and loving senior companion who has plenty of love left to give, Cujo might be the perfect match for you. Consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy, and give him the comfortable and loving retirement he deserves. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
