Story
DOB 4-24-2025 Izzie is looking for a Mom! She is a baby that likes to stay close, a 24 hour girl. Izzie is social, loves to play, gets along great with others and wants to be an important part of her future home. She will be between 7 and 8 pounds, has a natural tail and gorgeous ears with a cute little face. She is very smart and focused. She is up to date on all medical, spayed, heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart6 heartworm preventative infection. Her adoption fee is 900.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC they leave every other Friday to deliver their stops on Saturday to the East Coast The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Alvin **Not Available to Be Seen Until Open House on Wednesday 2/25** Good with Kids & Dogs! Meet Alvin! 10 yrs/8 lb./Male/Yorkie Mix Name: Alvin Age: 10 years Weight: 8 lbs Breed: Yorkie Mix Status: Distinguished gentleman seeking his forever cuddle companion 💛 About Me: Hi there… I’m Alvin — small in size, big in heart, and rocking the silver-fox era like a pro. At 10 years young, I’ve mastered the art of companionship. I’m past the wild puppy parties and fully committed to the cozy life: warm laps, soft blankets, quiet mornings, and being your loyal little shadow. I may be tiny, but I carry a lifetime of love in this little body. I’ll look up at you with my soulful eyes and make you feel like you’re the only person in the room. I’m gentle, sweet, and happiest when I’m near my person — whether that’s snuggled on the couch or supervising your daily routine. I believe love should feel calm, steady, and safe… and I’m ready to give that to someone special. Best Qualities: • Professional lap warmer • Expert in soft eye contact and quiet devotion • Low-drama, low-maintenance gentleman • Perfectly sized for apartment living or travel • Looks very handsome in sweaters (as you can see 😉) My Ideal Match: • Someone who appreciates the magic of senior dogs • A calm home where I can relax and feel secure • A human who wants a loyal sidekick for life’s quieter moments • Bonus points if you have cozy blankets Deal Breakers: • Chaos, loud parties, or marathon training • Being treated like “just a dog” — I prefer “tiny royalty” Fun Fact: I may be 10, but I’ve still got pep in my step — especially if snacks or snuggles are involved.

Story
Please contact Valerie (valerin81871@verizon.net) for more information about this pet. Adoption Donation   $250 Located:   Rhode Island   Age: approx   14   years old Weight:  8 lbs.   Sawyer is a 14-year-old, 6.5-lb Yorkshire Terrier seeking an experienced, compassionate home. He has severe collapsing trachea, which presents as chronic coughing and breathing difficulty that can worsen with excitement, stress, or temperature changes. He requires ongoing medical management, a calm environment, and an adopter familiar with senior or special-needs dogs. His quality of life is currently stable with proper care and routine. Sawyer is functionally blind, but once acclimated, he learns his surroundings and navigates confidently. He is affectionate, bonds closely with his person, and thrives on routine. He does best with a harness only, minimal exertion, and a quiet, low-stress home. Sawyer is not for first-time dog owners, but for the right adopter, he is a deeply loving and devoted companion.      If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  valeri.nihill@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc.
