Story
Tulip is just the sweetest little flower. She's a super easy dog - up for anything, always! She loves her walks, and if you can find her a nice big field to run around in, you can watch her zoomies for hours! She is doing amazing with house breaking (essentially no accidents), crate training, and loves playing with our small dog. She is very intuitive and picks up on your body language effortlessly. She is cuddly, but not too clingy! She happily self settles and self soothes - again, a super good and easy dog, incredible for still being a puppy! We DNA tested her, and she is a shih tzu & yorkie mix, (that's where her cute little yoda ears come from!) with a little bit of dachshund thrown in! We think Tulip would be happiest in a home with another small dog to keep her company, but most importantly, anyone with lots of love to give! Please consider adopting this sweet girl, she truly will make your life brighter. Tulip is a Yorkie/Shih Tzu/Dachshund mix with an estimated date of birth of 12/16/2023. She weighs 5.4lbs.

Story
🐶 Say hello to Peanut, our adorable and active 6-month-old puppy who's ready to bring endless joy and energy into your home! Peanut is an active puppy who loves to play and is always on the lookout for his next adventure. Peanut came to us with some skin issues caused by fleas and he is being treated for them . He was shaved down when he arrived, so we're not quite sure what his hair length will be once it grows back. This little guy should remain small when fully grown, making him the perfect companion for any living situation. If you're looking for a fun-loving, playful pup to brighten your days, Peanut is your boy! If you would like to meet Peanut, please fill out our no-obligation adoption form at bit.ly/starlightadopt, then an adoption counselor will contact you with next steps. Adoption fee is $300 and includes an exam, fecal, deworming, flea prevention, heartworm prevention, microchipping, puppy vaccines, rabies vaccine, spay/neuter surgery. Story
Braxton has been with me since he was 9 months old! He was a gift from a close family friend when I graduated with my master’s degree. Her two pets at the time had 3 puppies and Braxton was one of them. Braxton has brought so much joy to my life since that time! He has lived in 4 states, traveled abroad with me, and experienced more plane rides than most! Braxton is over 15 years old but still looks like a puppy! He melts hearts everywhere he goes. He shows signs of normal aging...decreased vision (i.e., cloudy eyes), some lower extremity arthritis, and he no longer has teeth. He also has a growth on one side of his tongue that came from dental disease before having all his teeth removed. The vet noted that this is very common in smaller breeds. Adjectives for Braxton: Outdoorsy, Small, Youthful, Sweet/Kind, Quiet, Well-Behaved I am a new doctor, and my schedule has changed quite a bit. I often work 10 hours a day now and Braxton spends most days in the crate, which he hates.

Story
This is a hard thing to do but we know it’s for the best. We obtained our dog when he reached about 2 months. We got him from a purebred breeder. He is now 3 yrs old. He has only been with us. He’s been in a house filled with love. Lately with a change in the family dynamics and work schedules, it’s been extremely hard to care for him the way he likes. It’s not fair to him. So we had a family meeting and agreed we wanted him to go to a family that would give him the love he deserves. He is registered under the American canine Association. He will come with his beds, cage, toys and more.

Story
Hola! Soy Julio! I was found trekking on a busy street and taken to a fire station. I am calm and easy-going but do sometimes need a little help due to my cataracts. If you have the love and patience to give, I'd love to be yours. I walk really well on a leash and can usually sniff out what I need despite my eyes. I am good with other small canines, felines, and even kiddos!

Story
Adoption Fee: $200 Fostered in Texas Age: 10 years Weight: 4.8 lbs. January 1, 2023 - Harley is stable on the Lomotil for coughing. He does cough some when running and playing, but has not experienced any respiratory distress. His skin is doing really well. We changed his treatment and he now gets a spot treatment weekly of Dermoscent and a bath weekly in Dermoscent shampoo. This has been amazing for him. He has not had any episodes of GI issues and or pancreatitis but must remain on RX low fat food. (Royal Canin) If he does have breakthrough itching, he receives a Cytopoint injection at the vet but the treatments above have decreased that frequency dramatically. Harley is quite the charming little senior boy who loves, loves, loves to play fetch with his toys! He sleeps on a pillow next to his foster mom. Because he has been with us for some time, we do want to do a local, slow adoption so that the adjustment will be easier for him. He is located in Kemah, TX. 7/1/21 - Harley is feeling better and does not require further hospitalization for pancreatitis. We will be re evaluating his meds for collapsed trachea as this week was stressful for him. Due to Harley stressing easily and causing increased coughing from the collapsed trachea, we have decided to look for a home that is close to his foster home. He is being fostered in Kemah, TX. We want to be able to make it a slower adoption with Harley getting to know a new family before making a move. 6/29/21 - It is not a good month for Harley. He had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow for med review for the collapsed trachea; but woke up ill this morning. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis and admitted for IV fluids. Hopefully he will be feeling better in a couple of days. Please keep our little buddy in your prayers. 6/11/21 - Harley was seen at the vet today and diagnosed with a collapsed trachea. He had started coughing recently when barking and/or playing. He has been started on medications for 2 weeks and then will be re-evaluated. 3/30/20 - We have found that Harley has recurrent skin issues/allergies. Cytopoint has helped the itch, but his hair gets super oily only a few days after a bath. We are trying different shampoos to see what may work. 1/27/20 - Well, this is one we in rescue have heard so many times. Girl gets yorkie and he is her baby, girl gets married years later and has human baby, and the four legged baby must go. :( Unfortunately for Harley, the date they chose to let him go was Thanksgiving. We have promised Harley that his next Thanksgiving will be full of love, belly rubs, kisses and treats with a family that will never give him up. Harley is a sweet boy and sleeps on a pillow next to his foster mom's head. He gets along well with the easy going pups in the house, cuddling with a couple of them from time to time. He tends to be a bit nervous around a lot of activity, so we are looking for a quiet household. He is very good about going outside to go to the bathroom and comes right back inside. He goes to the door and looks at his foster mom to let him out. Keep in mind that sometimes they do have accidents and things can vary from home to home so don't expect perfection in the housebreaking department! Harley does have some skin issues due to allergies. This was reported to us when he was surrendered. He recently had some issues and responded well to Cytopoint. His teeth were a mess when he came to us and a dental was done where he ended up losing 22 teeth. He recovered quickly and eats very well! He is on canned food with some water mixed in. Harley's blood work looked very good. He does not seem to have any issues other than allergies ... oh, and he does have luxating patellas which is common in yorkies. Best to keep him from jumping up and down on things. Harley walks up steps to his foster mom's furniture! This is a charming little guy with a whole lot of love to share with someone.
