Story
Meet Lilianna! She is a 4-year-old, 22 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is shy and skittish, and it will take some time to win her heart. She can be nervous and does not enjoy long car rides or new places. She is potty trained/house trained. She is a happy dog with lots of energy. She is very smart and playful with other dogs. She would love to have another dog in the home. She could possibly be an only dog but she would need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She is a high flight risk since she won't come on command. She is quick and will dart out an open door and can be an escape artist. Due to her tendency to run, we are looking for a home for her within a 10-mile radius of the Edmonds area. We are looking for an adult only home for her with no children or grandchildren. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Welcome Cricket! She is an extremely shy, sweet, 5 ½ month old, 8 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who is looking for a quiet, patient home that is full of love. Cricket is a sweet dog who has been through a lot in her short life and is very shut down. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell and feel comfortable in a new environment. She would do best in a quiet, standalone home outside of the city with a with a securely fenced yard as she can be a flight risk. Due to her shy nature, she would do best in an adult-only home with no children. She does well with other dogs and currently lives in a foster home with other dogs. While can live well in a home with other dogs but she could also be fine as an only dog soaking up all of the love and attention. Cricket is working on potty training in her foster home and is pad trained. She will need grooming to keep her coat in good condition. She is quiet and well-behaved and will make a great companion for the right person or family. She has a lot of love to give and is just looking for the right person to give it to. Cricket is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Bindi! Tiny Bindi is a purebred Parti Yorkie. The name sounds fun but really just refers to her unique Yorkie coloring.  Bindi is around 4 years old and weighs just 7 lbs. She is good with other dogs and friendly with people. She does need a moment to warm up to strangers but once she trusts you she will be your best friend. She has not lived with young children and we suspect she will be a bit too overwhelmed by them. We recommend her for a home without children or with children over 12 only. She does not have any cat experience.  Bindi loves exploring the yard, chasing squirrels and zooming around. Inside she is calm and will happily take naps with you. She is not a couch potato though. Bindi is a flight risk and will take the opportunity to run out of the front door if you are not careful. She needs a secure yard. She is working on potty training so quick access to the outside is helpful. Bindi is a lovely little girl who would love a family of her own.  She is vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450.   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Golden Wheels is a 9 pound, 5 year old blond Yorkie/Shih Tzu. She loves to walk and acclimated to a leash quickly. She doesn’t pull, but walks next to you. She is a smart little girl - learned how to go up or down stairs, eat out of a bowl and how to walk with a leash within 48 hours. She startles easily at loud noises but is getting braver. She’s starting to become a Velcro dog, wanting to be near you always. Very sweet dog, friendly with people and getting used to other small dogs in the neighborhood. She is not a barker which is great for those in condos or apartments. She likes to sleep on the floor next to your bed on a mat or in her crate. During the day needs to go out every 4-5 hours or she could learn to use pee pads. She is able to sleep the night - a full 10 hours without needing to go out until 6:30am. At 6:30 it’s a giant pee and poo, everyday. So far she prefers to go on sidewalk covered in leaves vs grass. She has separation anxiety, but crate training has helped as she feels more secure there. She knows that’s her space and will go in voluntarily. She eats her meals in her crate. She is food motivated, good with small dogs, and crate trained -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Meet handsome Monty! Monty came into the rescue just in time! Due to his skin allergies and infection, his family thought the only solution was to put him down. Enter our caring team and fabulous Veterinary team, Monty now has an excellent prognosis with proper care. Monty needs about 2 more weeks of the medicated baths and medications to cure the skin infection - the result of a flea allergy! Completely manageable for long term care with quality flea meds. Monty, a 6 years young, neutered Yorkie, is fantastic on a leash, has great house manners, and will make someone the best buddy. He is vocal and sings, makes little joyful noises when happy and lets you know when he'd prefer a different option in his day ;-) ! Monty is the best boy now and will be even better once his skin heals. Monty can go home now with someone who will appreciate and manage his skin regimen, or should be cleared by our vet by New Years and ready for his forever home.

These pups are in Sequim, Washington too!

Story
Meet Zadie! She is sweet, energetic, and social. She is out of the initial puppy phase, but is still young. Having been born in November 2024, she is still young and a more energetic dog than her original owners were wanting, but we think she is fabulous. Zadie has a congenital luxating shoulder and has been evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon. At this time, surgery is not required, but Zadie will need a home that can help make sure she does not make her shoulder's condition worse through overuse. She can be a little intimidated by some dogs, but would probably do well with a calm, friendly small dog. She has not lived with cats before, but may be okay with a confident cat. Visit our website to fill out an Adoption Application http://www.wagsequimwa.com If you have any questions, please email: office@wagsequimwa.com. Most of our dogs require a fully fenced yard, this does depend on the individual dogs needs and safety requirements. Adoption donation fee up to $350 (Please understand this adoption donation goes towards helping all the dogs we rescue) November 10, 2025, 7:38 pm
