Story
Meet Jesseie! 🐾 Jesseie is a scruffy little sweetheart estimated to be around five years old, and she’s a charming Yorkshire Terrier mix with a whole lot of love to give. She’s currently living in a foster home with kids, dogs, and cats—and she gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets. Jesseie is the definition of a perfect lapdog. She loves attention, cuddles, and being close to her people, whether that means curling up on the couch or following you from room to room. She’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when she’s soaking up love. She would thrive in a home with other animals and a family, but she’d be just as happy as your one-and-only best friend. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who fits right in, Jesseie might be the perfect match for you. 💕 Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/692cad3ba8718f17250f765a We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Story
Meet Lilianna! She is a 4-year-old, 22 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is shy and skittish, and it will take some time to win her heart. She can be nervous and does not enjoy long car rides or new places. She is potty trained/house trained. She is a happy dog with lots of energy. She is very smart and playful with other dogs. She would love to have another dog in the home. She could possibly be an only dog but she would need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She is a high flight risk since she won't come on command. She is quick and will dart out an open door and can be an escape artist. Due to her tendency to run, we are looking for a home for her within a 10-mile radius of the Edmonds area. We are looking for an adult only home for her with no children or grandchildren. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Welcome Cricket! She is an extremely shy, sweet, 5 ½ month old, 8 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who is looking for a quiet, patient home that is full of love. Cricket is a sweet dog who has been through a lot in her short life and is very shut down. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell and feel comfortable in a new environment. She would do best in a quiet, standalone home outside of the city with a with a securely fenced yard as she can be a flight risk. Due to her shy nature, she would do best in an adult-only home with no children. She does well with other dogs and currently lives in a foster home with other dogs. While can live well in a home with other dogs but she could also be fine as an only dog soaking up all of the love and attention. Cricket is working on potty training in her foster home and is pad trained. She will need grooming to keep her coat in good condition. She is quiet and well-behaved and will make a great companion for the right person or family. She has a lot of love to give and is just looking for the right person to give it to. Cricket is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Golden Wheels is a 9 pound, 5 year old blond Yorkie/Shih Tzu. She loves to walk and acclimated to a leash quickly. She doesn’t pull, but walks next to you. She is a smart little girl - learned how to go up or down stairs, eat out of a bowl and how to walk with a leash within 48 hours. She startles easily at loud noises but is getting braver. She’s starting to become a Velcro dog, wanting to be near you always. Very sweet dog, friendly with people and getting used to other small dogs in the neighborhood. She is not a barker which is great for those in condos or apartments. She likes to sleep on the floor next to your bed on a mat or in her crate. During the day needs to go out every 4-5 hours or she could learn to use pee pads. She is able to sleep the night - a full 10 hours without needing to go out until 6:30am. At 6:30 it’s a giant pee and poo, everyday. So far she prefers to go on sidewalk covered in leaves vs grass. She has separation anxiety, but crate training has helped as she feels more secure there. She knows that’s her space and will go in voluntarily. She eats her meals in her crate. She is food motivated, good with small dogs, and crate trained -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Paleta is a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix and Tartufo is about 8 years old, and neither has had the easiest go of it, but their lives have already changed for the better, and they are excited knowing their lives are only going to keep getting better and better! Paleta and Tartufo are working on gaining their confidence and are looking for a quiet home where they can blossom at their own paces. Paleta and Tartufo lived with other dogs before, but we aren't sure how they got along. However, they love each other very much! We don't know if they've ever lived with cats. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Paleta and Tartufo will do best in a quiet, predictable home with just dog-experienced adults. If you're ready to welcome home this precious pair, make an adoption appointment to meet them today!
