***I WOULD PREFER A HOME WITH TEENS +**DOG EXPERIENCE REQUIREDI am a very energetic girl. I am a little nervous and hate being restrained. I like to mouth at your hands and will need a lot of training to learn my manners. I would do best with a family who does not have any young children, and who understands my body language and can help me be my best self!

Story
CHANCE – have you ever seen a more handsome fella? Just a few things about this sweet guy. The vet believes that Chance is between 18mo - 2yrs old and weighs 59lbs. • He is heart worm negative and neutered. •He is super sweet and gentle - wants to cuddle and be near his person. •He is dog-friendly (the foster doesn’t have cats, so we are not certain if he’s cat-friendly) •He is people-friendly to everyone he has met. Foster does not have small children, but he has been fine around children on walks. Due to his size and youth, he might knock down small children, but he is not aggressive. •He is house broken. Even in the rain and snow he has let us know he needs to go out. •He is a little timid to new people at first, but warms up quickly. •He very rarely barks. •He has learned to sit, walk on a leash, and “wait” for his food bowl to be put down. •He is very food motivated, so can be easily trained with treat rewards. He is not reactive when eating. •He can be possessive over certain toys with a low, warning growl if another dog tries to take it from him. •He is not interested in fetching a ball, but loves chew toys and antlers. • He can be very active, but is also happy cuddled up with his person. •He would do great in a house with another dog, but would be fine as an only dog also. Once adopted Chance will travel via private transport (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make this pretty boy part of your family please follow the link below to our application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Howlett is a happy, handsome guy that can be on the stubborn side at times. He is around a year old and will need someone who has experience with stubborn breeds and is willing to work with him. He knows sit and shake. Howlett loves to go outside for walks and loves to play in his play yard! He is treat motivated and loves to play with the kong toys! Howlett did test positive for Lyme but is currently on antibiotics for it. Due to no past history an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Howlett has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License #2090

Story
Allow me to introduce Miss Cassie, a young and infinitely energetic Husky. She is the true embodiment of the breed as her desire to explore and outsmart are a top priority. Cassie is the ultimate Houdini and can escape even the tallest of fences therefore she can only be outside if on a leash. Cassie is as sweet as sugar when around staff and canine volunteers. She was a bit timid after she was surrendered, but has opened up like a spring flower. Cassie has not been negative towards other dogs, however with the nature of Huskies it’s best remain cautious. She is sure to never disappoint in the realm of love as her tail never stops waging giving us all a smile. Please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12p & 2p-5:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- HOPE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Meet Hope! Hope is approximately 10 years old and 64 pounds. She is a wonderful companion with great house manners. Hope is house-trained, walks well on the lead, and is social and loving. Hope came to us from a WV shelter.
