Shelby is a doll despite a hard life. She was probably dumped as she just showed up to a nice family’s house. They had no fencing and they did not care if she wandered so she didn’t stay. We intervened when she continued to roam. We are getting her healthy despite neglect. She was so matted we had to cut her coat with scissors but she has since been groomed. It just makes her even more adorable. She is so sweet and gentle and never met a stranger. This girl is a jewel in the rough. She gets along with everyone…. Even cats! She loves outdoors but comes in when called. She loved our recent Arctic plunge and played on the sleet! Can you make her shine ? She will reward you with more love and loyalty than you can imagine.. She has been in a foster home so she has been well socialized and loves to go for walks. She is living indoors and is a wonderful companion. She deserves a permanent home and is ready! DOB - Feb. 10, 2020 Reason for rehoming: My son (owner) moved to Africa. I cannot keep him due to my lease. If he cannot be rehomed, he will have to go to a shelter. The local Akita rescue is not accepting any new dogs. Alpha is a sweet and devoted American Akita looking for a forever home where he can thrive. He is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and naturally protective of his family—once he bonds with you, he is your shadow and your biggest fan. Alpha does have environmental allergies, so he’ll need an adopter who can continue his care and keep him comfortable. He cannot be boarded, so he needs a family who can provide in-home care or trusted at-home pet sitting when traveling. He loves being near his people, enjoys calm environments, and does best with someone who understands large guardian breeds. Alpha will make an amazing companion for the right person or family—someone who values loyalty, connection, and a dog who truly loves his humans.

Sweet Freya was on the streets avoiding capture for months. She finally decided that the cushy life looked pretty good! Now in a loving foster home where she loves to play with the resident dogs and children of all ages. She is house trained, great on a leash and not food aggressive. And she loves to talk and give kisses!!! She has not been around cats but we can help with introductions. Freya is about 2 years old, weighs 54 pounds, fully vaccinated. spayed and is HW negative. We adopt in the DFW and East Texas areas only (within 1 hours' drive from Terrell) as we deliver our pets to their new homes. A secure fence and vet reference are required.
