Meet Rowan! 🐾 (currently in foster care) Rowan is a 2-year-old, 65 lb Akita with a heart as big as his paws. This sweet boy just wants to be close to his people—snuggled up at your side, soaking in all the love he can get. He’s perfectly content relaxing in the yard and doesn’t require a lot of activity to stay happy, though he does enjoy adventure walks, squeaky toys, belly rubs, and anything food-related! Rowan is eager to please and easy to train, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates his loyal and affectionate nature. Like most Akitas, he’s a natural guardian—deeply devoted and protective once he bonds with his people. Because of this, Rowan would do best in a home without small children, as young kids seem to make him nervous and he has barked at some while out walking. Rowan has done well with other dogs in our care, and for the most part is fairly aloof and prefers his people. He would be fine as an only dog, or well suited with another calm dog in the home, ideally female. Rowan has a prey drive and will need a home without cats. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!  My name is Xavier from Korea and I am a wonderful approximately 5 month old  male Akita - Jindo mix.  I weigh approximately 14 lbs. and so excited to find my new forever home.  I am very happy, affectionate, smart, and friendly.  I was saved from the Korean kill shelter where I was due to be euthanized. The activists came and saved me and I can't wait to come to America and find a family to love and care for me forever.  Approximately over a million dogs a year are slaughtered to be eaten.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park, and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love, and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,295 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.   A GPS tracker or Apple Air Tag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an Air Tag from us   We cannot guarantee breed or age.
