Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!  My name is Xavier from Korea and I am a wonderful approximately 5 month old  male Akita - Jindo mix.  I weigh approximately 14 lbs. and so excited to find my new forever home.  I am very happy, affectionate, smart, and friendly.  I was saved from the Korean kill shelter where I was due to be euthanized. The activists came and saved me and I can't wait to come to America and find a family to love and care for me forever.  Approximately over a million dogs a year are slaughtered to be eaten.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park, and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love, and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,295 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.   A GPS tracker or Apple Air Tag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an Air Tag from us   We cannot guarantee breed or age. The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  The adoption fee is donated to the rescue and is tax deductible.   Please e-mail   admin@gingerspetrescue.org   for an adoption application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MAGGIE loves people and craves attention!  She has a typical Malamute personality, a very sweet girl but also likes to be independent and aloof when the mood strikes.     She enjoys being with her human pack where she can be pet all over, get belly rubs and cuddles. MAGGIE likes to walk several times a day checking out the neighborhood.    She is good in cars and will be happy to join you on all your adventures!  She has done well with older kids, though she does like to put her paws up on people, which is why it is best that she is not with small children. MAGGIE prefers to be the queen of her home.  Our foster has indicated she likes to play with other dogs but may be selective of her friends.  Larger dogs with a calm personality.  After a good play date, she enjoys going home to nap.  If there are other dogs in her future home, it will need to be a slow introduction and reassurance that she gets attention when she wants it, just like a queen deserves. Her dream home would be a big, fenced yard to relax in and enjoy some quiet time.  But also be inside where she can keep an eye on her family and lounge around, knowing her people are safe. &#226&#128&#139She is currently living with a foster in Manson, WA, however the foster is willing to transport her to intros within a few hours’ drive.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 15, 2025, 7:48 pm

Story
Meet Rowan! 🐾 (currently in foster care) Rowan is a 2-year-old, 65 lb Akita with a heart as big as his paws. This sweet boy just wants to be close to his people—snuggled up at your side, soaking in all the love he can get. He’s perfectly content relaxing in the yard and doesn’t require a lot of activity to stay happy, though he does enjoy adventure walks, squeaky toys, belly rubs, and anything food-related! Rowan is eager to please and easy to train, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates his loyal and affectionate nature. Like most Akitas, he’s a natural guardian—deeply devoted and protective once he bonds with his people. Because of this, Rowan would do best in a home without small children, as young kids seem to make him nervous and he has barked at some while out walking. Rowan has done well with other dogs in our care, and for the most part is fairly aloof and prefers his people. He would be fine as an only dog, or well suited with another calm dog in the home, ideally female. Rowan has a prey drive and will need a home without cats. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who offers both love and protection, Rowan is truly one of a kind. ❤️ Rowan is UTD on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Mia! Mia is a 1.5-year-old, 56 lb Akita/Smooth Coat Collie mix who is currently thriving in her foster home and now ready to find the perfect forever family! Mia is an incredibly sweet, loyal, and people-oriented girl. She loves being with her humans and would be happiest in a home where someone is around often or can take her along for adventures. She’s affectionate, cuddly, forms deep bonds, and just wants to be part of everything her people do. Mia needs a standalone home with a yard (no apartments or condos) or a large property/land to run, play, and explore. This girl loves stretching her legs! Mia is fantastic with other dogs and absolutely loves to play — fetch, chase, wrestling, toys… you name it, she’s in! A doggy sibling would be a huge bonus for her. She’s also extremely food motivated, which makes training fun and easy. She’s very smart and has an impressive list of tricks: she knows sit, down, lay down, shake, come, spin, and even crawl. She’s so clever she can even open jars! Mia will thrive in a home that keeps her both physically active and mentally stimulated. She’s an enthusiastic eater with some adorable quirks — her favorite fruit is apple, and her favorite veggie is celery! Mia can be a bit attention-seeking at times, so she needs adopters who can give her plenty of engagement, structure, and affection. She could do well with respectful, dog-savvy kids 12+ and needs a home with no cats. Overall, Mia is an amazing, fun, affectionate, intelligent girl who just needs an active, attentive home where she can be included, loved, and kept busy. She will make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a smart, playful, loyal best friend! Mia is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Simba has spent too long waiting for his forever family. 💔 This strong and spirited Akita-Husky mix is full of energy, loves his toys, and is happiest on long walks or playing with his human. He’s sweet, loyal, and ready for the right home. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and heart, Simba is waiting to meet you! 🐕 Adopt Simba: https://form.jotform.com/221926016430144 Full profile: Simba is a 6-8-year-old Akita-Husky mix with the personality of an Akita and the heart of a lion. He’s playful, sweet, and full of energy but needs a confident and strong adopter who understands his needs. 💪 Strength & Training: Simba is powerful and can pull when excited, so he needs someone physically capable of managing his strength. He’s learning commands like sit, down, paw, and “potty” and thrives with structure. A harness might help with his pulling. 🐾 Energy & Personality: Simba is not always a couch potato! He loves long walks (2+ miles is no problem), playing with his toys, and getting plenty of attention. He’s affectionate and cuddly but always ready for adventure. 🏡 Home Needs: Simba would do best in a home without small children due to his strength and energy. He’s good with other dogs, especially more timid ones, but does best with boundaries around toys and space. He’s also quite the counter-surfer, so keeping things out of reach is key! 🐕 Health: Simba has a thyroid condition that is managed with treatment, giving him renewed energy and playfulness. Simba has had a lot of love and care from his foster, but he’s ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, and playful companion, Simba could be your perfect match. 💙 Ready to meet Simba? Apply to adopt him and give this big-hearted boy the home he deserves. 📌 Share to help Simba find his forever home Currently being cared in Southern California, but can be transported up to northern states, such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and anywhere within the US continental, if a great suitable family is willing to adopt him.

💙 Name: Hodol 💙 Gender: Male 💙 Age: Estimated 3 months old (born in August 2025) 💙 Weight: 3.2 kg / 7 kg 💙 Adogs Center Updates: @_adogs_ 1⃣ Health Condition * Neuter: Incomplete. * Others: Microchipped, being treated for canine coronavirus and giardiasis. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Hodol was living at the Gimje City Shelter. He was waiting at the shelter with a smile on his face despite the weather getting colder, but no one stepped up to adopt him. The shelter had poor conditions, with infectious diseases spreading and poor heating, so Adogs urgently rescued him. 3⃣ Basic Information ❗️As a puppy, he may need training in areas such as separation anxiety, potty habits, biting, nipping, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling and barking. ❗️It is difficult to predict his shedding and growth size because his parents are unknown. * With People: Is a little shy but is docile and stays in your arms when picked up. Once he becomes familiar with someone, he wags his tail like a helicopter and runs around happily just seeing them come near. * With Dogs: Plays well with the other dogs at our center. * With Cats: Hasn’t met cats yet. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown, since he’s living in a group setting at our center. Will need training from scratch. * Potty Training: Does fairly well with potty pads. May need to be re-trained in a new environment. * Walks: Hasn’t been on walks since his vaccinations aren’t complete. * Car Sickness: Didn’t show signs of car sickness on short-distance rides. * Biting: Has not bitten. However, he may nibble or chew since he’s still a teething puppy. * Barking: Sometimes whines a bit if he seems someone outside his kennel. * Likes: Has a great appetite and loves food. * Dislikes: Although he is docile when picked up, he seems a bit uncomfortable with it since he yawns (a sign that a dog isn’t comfortable).
