Story
Hello! My name is Alexi and I'm a spayed, 5-month-old Alaskan Malamute puppy that currently weighs about 35lbs. I'm a growing girl that will reach between 77 and 95lbs as an adult. Are you a fan of fuzzy balls of sunshine and melodical howling? Well look no further! I'm hoping for a family that understands the needs of Nordic breeds like me. I'm a fun loving and rambunctious pup that's friendly, but still learning manners so training is a must. I'm food motivated so it'll be fun for all of us! Because I'm going to be a very large fluff ball and I'm working on impulse control, I prefer to live in households with children that are 10 years or older. If you have a resident dog, I'd love to say a proper 'hello' before joining your family. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Alexi! ID# A978025Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. Story
A kind person saved him when he was left in a box at a parking lot. From an accidental litter due to parents not being sp/n. They work full time and contacted us to take him in. He got his first vet care and now learning at his foster home and puppy trainer. Cutie Robin size of Malamute is very sweet friendly and loves playing with other pups. Doing great and cuddly. Robin loves to follow his person around. He is enjoying his healthy foods and treats. Need husky experienced guardian and home with fenced yard. We have tried different high quality and holistic foods (kibble and can) but he has a sensitive GI and got loose stools. He had a stool sample test and negative. He does best eating Raw diet mix or food with no wheat or legume. No runny stools when he eats raw diet. Update: Robin is now eating freeze dried raw and trying different foods. He has gone to training classes and great with everyone. Lovable. Great with other nice dogs. Robin loves going out for hikes and long walks.August 31, 2025, 12:36 pm

Story
Meeko is 5 years old and has been a loyal, loving, playful family dog. My parents have recently retired and can no longer care for him. My home is too small to take him in, and the landlord will not allow more than one dog neither. They are looking for another loving family to take him in and care for him as we have. He’s a big teddy bear who gives nothing but love and loyalty.

Story
Meet Ombre, an 11-month-old Akita who radiates an easygoing and sweet demeanor that captivates everyone she meets! Despite her young age, Ombre displays a maturity beyond her years, approaching life with a calm and gentle disposition. Ombre came to our shelter as a stray about 6 weeks ago. She was found with her sidekick companion, Margarita, a sweet, timid, 11-pound, 3-year old Chihuahua.  Ombre is an exuberant, playful and very loving dog. She is very gentle with Margarita, so they are housed together and often hang out in the yards together. While Ombre thoroughly enjoys playing and interacting with others; she would thrive equally well in a home with or without another dog, thanks to her independent nature and friendly demeanor. Ombre's love for playtime is infectious, and her charming personality makes her a wonderful addition to any loving household ready to provide her with the care and companionship she deserves. Ombre has a beautiful coat, weighs about 40 pounds, seems quite potty trained and also very quiet in her kennel that she shares with little Margarita. Ombre is good with every dog and every person she has ever met; loves to play with soft toys and most of all, has discovered the joy of a kiddie pool in the heat! At the shelter, we often let them play together, but also separate them out. I have been taking Margarita home to play with my littles so she can build her confidence and come into her own. She is a delightful little girl (whose cherry eye will be fixed when she is spayed soon). Both Ombre and Margarita are vaccinated and will be chipped and spayed  We would love to get sweet Ombre and Margarita out of the shelter so they can continue to grow and thrive in a home. Ombre and Margarita are being cared for at Yolo County Animal Services in Woodland, CA (near Davis and Sacramento Airport). Shadow Nose's Story Meet Shadow Nose: Your Future Best Friend! 💖

Hi there! My name is Shadow Nose and I’ve been waiting patiently for the perfect person to bring me into their family. Could that be you?

I’m a 4-year-old, 53-pound, Akita German Shepherd Mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! My foster family says I’m incredibly sweet, affectionate, and well-adjusted with just the right amount of energy to keep you smiling every day.
Here’s a video to help you get to know me better: https://youtu.be/lvdhggj4fPo
🩺 My Special Needs
I have been diagnosed with mega-esophagus, a condition that means my throat is oversized and I need a little extra care when eating. But don’t worry — it’s super manageable! My foster family and veterinarian have created an easy routine that keeps me happy and healthy. I even have a fancy custom feeding station (built just for me!) where I eat and drink comfortably.

🐾 Why You’ll Love Me
From my captivating smile to my playful spirit, I’m the kind of dog who lights up a room.
I’m:
- Affectionate: I’ll happily cuddle up with you after a fun day.
- Energetic and playful: I love tossing my toys around and trying my best at fetch!
- Learning to have good canine manner
- I’m crate trained, know how to use a doggy door and can be left home alone without any issues.

 🌟 A Star Companion
I’m great with adults, strangers and kids and I even love car rides! One of my previous fosters took me to the Veteran’s hospital, where I brought smiles to everyone’s faces. At home, I’m bouncy and playful, but I also know how to wind down with a cozy nap in my dog bed.

🐕 My Ideal Home
I’d love to be your one-and-only furry friend, but with the right introductions, I might get along with another dog. I have "bossy" tendencies! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. My moderate energy level makes me a great fit for most homes and I promise to fill yours with love and laughter.

💖 Let’s Make It Happen!
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, I’m your girl. I’ll warm your heart with my adorable smile and keep you entertained with my goofy antics. Check out my video of me tossing my toys around — you’ll see how much fun we could have together!

Don’t let my special needs hold you back—I’m one of a kind and ready to join your family. I can’t wait to meet you!
