Story
Ferdinand is a mellow gentleman who’s just waiting to meet you. At first, he doesn’t show much emotion, and he has some facial markings that make him look a bit dramatic. But once Ferdinand figures out you’re there to take him out, he’s all about it. He’s an easy-going leash walker and is friendly and well-behaved passing other dogs. If you’re looking for an adult member of your household, Ferdinand would be a great addition. He’s past the puppy stage, but still full of energy and curiosity. He will make a fine member of just about any new family. He appears to be housetrained.

Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hodor is in a loving foster who have provided him with stability, affection, training and enrichment. We asked his fosters to tell us about him and here's what they said: "Hodor is friendly, goofy, sweet, happy, non-reactive to other dogs, smart, and a quick learner. He is wonderful with our dogs and kids, is not food aggressive and walks well on leash. He's overall quiet a dog, but, like all Husky's, likes to serenade us when he's happy. We are working with him every day, and he's great with sit, stay, shake, and he's doing well learning to heel. When on walks if he gets excited by a squirrel or deer, we are also teaching him to sit and calm down. Hodor adores children and has been very gentle when encountering children on leash. He is quite large, so the only thing I would say is that someone should just make sure the child doesn't inadvertently get knocked down! He's met children from toddler age to teens, and I think he'd be fine with any ages. Hodor is our 14th foster for Milo, and he has been the easiest to have in our home by far. He gets along well with our 'pack' of 2 other Huskies. When it's time to walk or play, he's energetic and when it's time to rest or be quiet, he's self-sufficient and is happy to sleep." If you are interested in Hodor please fill out an application.

Story
Thor is a staff and volunteer favorite, and once you meet him it's easy to see why. This 70 lb love-bug craves affection and will lean against you while you pet him and tell him he's a good boy. Once he's out of the chaotic shelter environment, Thor walks nicely on leash and has wonderful manners. He knows the "sit" command and takes treats gently. He's an intelligent boy and would thrive in a home that will provide plenty of enrichment and teach him new commands. Thor loves toys and will jump into the toy bin in the play yard to select his own playthings. He enjoys fetch and tug-o-war, and playing with other dogs. To set up a meet and greet with Thor, go to HSNB.org and fill out a dog adoption interest application. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 67 Age: 3yrs 6mths 3wks

Story
Good day, I'm Yami, known for my handsome good looks and smoldering baby blues. What makes me stand out is I perform a "happy" bouncy dance for the volunteer walkers before they take me out for a walk and to play. It works because they are always happy after my dance. It's magical.Like most huskies, I'm smart, friendly, but shy, good disposition, and affectionate. I enjoy snuggling, pets, kisses, going on walks, playing with toys and snacks. I walk well on a leash and know basic commands like sit, down, wait, and heel, but I'm sure with love, structure and guidance I can learn alot more. The volunteers have been working with me on my manner and I have improved a great deal. I'm compatible with other dogs, but am dog selective. If you have a dog, you can bring it to visit me to see if we can be friends. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of cats or other small animals. I'm compatible with well-behaved older kids and would thrive with an active, loving family that has the time to provide me with both physical and mental stimulation. I know I can bring joy and happiness to your family. Please come see for yourself. I'll do my "happy" dance for you.My adoption fee of $150 means I'll come to you neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. Please visit www.hsnb.org to fill out an adoption interest application and set-up a date. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 73.375 Age: 6yrs 4mths 3wks

Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul. Story
Meet Emi Emi’s sleek, brindle coat is a thing of beauty and so magnificent to behold. Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. But as you can see, she enjoys playing with her toys and doing tricks for treats. Her healthy curiosity keeps her engaged in life’s adventures, though she also loves her beauty naps. Please don’t let her age deter you from considering giving her a home. Her heart is overflowing with love. If you are interested in Emi, please complete our adoption application in the link below.
