Story
A kind person saved him when he was left in a box at a parking lot. From an accidental litter due to parents not being sp/n. They work full time and contacted us to take him in. He got his first vet care and now learning at his foster home and puppy trainer. Cutie Robin size of Malamute is very sweet friendly and loves playing with other pups. Doing great and cuddly. Robin loves to follow his person around. He is enjoying his healthy foods and treats. Need husky experienced guardian and home with fenced yard. We have tried different high quality and holistic foods (kibble and can) but he has a sensitive GI and got loose stools. He had a stool sample test and negative. He does best eating Raw diet mix or food with no wheat or legume. No runny stools when he eats raw diet. Update: Robin is now eating freeze dried raw and trying different foods. He has gone to training classes and great with everyone. Lovable. Great with other nice dogs. Robin loves going out for hikes and long walks.August 31, 2025, 12:36 pm

Story
Age: 4 years (est)Weight: 58lbsMeet Lavender-- Lavender came to us from a partner shelter where she was brought in as a stray with another dog. She is a giant floof who is super personable. During her behavioral evaluation, it was noted that she was very interactive with people, and also very into her toys and other high value objects, so an adult only home or one with older children would likely be best. Lavender has also gotten along well with other dogs, so a new canine sibling might suit her. She has been recently groomed and is ready to hit the town!We are still getting to know her, but we do know that she would love for you to come and visit her! If you`d like to meet her, feel free to call our adoptions desk or stop by during Browsing Hours: Tue-Sun 11-5.

Story
Hello! My name is Alexi and I'm a spayed female, 5-month-old Alaskan Malamute puppy that currently weighs about 45lbs. I'm a growing girl that will reach between 77 and 95lbs as an adult. Are you a fan of fuzzy balls of sunshine and melodical howling? Well look no further! I'm hoping for a family that understands the needs of Nordic breeds like me. I'm a fun loving and rambunctious pup that's friendly, but still learning manners so training is a must. I'm food motivated so it'll be fun for all of us! Because I'm going to be a very large fluff ball and I'm working on impulse control, I prefer to live in households with children that are 10 years or older. If you have a resident dog, I'd love to say a proper 'hello' before joining your family. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Alexi ID# A978025Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor. Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.January 28, 2026, 4:47 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog I:4Beluga – A Soft, Fluffy Explorer with Gentle Manners Beluga is a 6-year-old, 82-pound female Alaskan Malamute who is as plush and chonky as she is charming. This super-soft lady has a calm presence and enjoys moving through the world at her own thoughtful pace. Lovely on leash: Walks with good manners, responding well to gentle leash pressure and verbal guidance. Independent spirit: Content to sniff and explore on her own, checking in more once treats enter the picture—without becoming overly demanding. Treat savvy: Will sit for treats and can impressively catch them mid-air; still polishing her gentle treat-taking skills. Social and polite: Attends doggie playgroup, playing with other dogs and keeping things friendly. Beluga is a mellow, fluffy companion who offers quiet affection, gentle play, and plenty of cozy Malamute vibes. She’d do well either with appropriately matched dog companions or as a solo dog with a few social dog friends.January 30, 2026, 3:49 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog G:3Dolphin – Fluffy, Chill, and Comfortably Independent Dolphin is a 3-year-old, 90-pound male Alaskan Malamute with loads of fluff, a happy smile, and a classic Malamute sense of independence. He enjoys connection on his terms and balances affection with intermittent “me time.” Calm on leash: Walks nicely and calmly, making strolls easy and enjoyable. Selective but polite: Knows ‘sit’ but may choose when to respond; takes treats gently most of the time, though he can be a bit grabby on occasion. Aloof charm: Does sweet “drive-bys,” stopping in for some treats or petting before wandering off again in true Malamute fashion. Play style: Will happily chase balls but doesn’t bring them back; plays gently with other dogs in doggie playgroup. Ideal home: Best suited for a home without cats or small animals due to his prey drive. Dolphin would thrive either with appropriately matched dog friends or as a solo dog who enjoys calm companionship and respectful space.         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (@oaklandanimalservices)   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zora, Rozee & Yaz (@zora.rozee.yaz) January 30, 2026, 12:07 pm
