Story
Cairo is a very handsome Atika/Staffordshire Terrier/Shepherd mix, rescued from a bad situation. He is a year old and weighs about 62 lbs. He is very sweet and friendly with everyone he meets, adults and kids and gets along good with other dogs. Cairo loves to play and is very active. The Foster Dad has been training with him and he’s making great progress. Cairo is best suited in a home with an active family or individual so he can get plenty of exercise. He needs to go to a home that will continue and reinforce his basic training. Cairo is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. He is house and crate trained as well. If you are interested in him please go to our website: www.amrdog.org and complete the application.

Story
The REALLY AWESOME DOGS don't stay long in rescue, and Sonny will be one of them. If you are ready to adopt and need a little more HAPPY in your life then come meet Sonny! This young (about a year old) and gorgeous guy is happy, playful, and incredibly smart. He loves to play tug-o-war, catch a ball, splash in water if he is lucky enough to have access to a small plastic kid's pool! It's not HIS fault his Human could not keep him, and like all dogs that live in the moment, he just wants to LOVE. He is dog-friendly (with other playful and respectful dogs) and would do great with an active family with kids. Sonny is in a foster home in Southern California (Santa Clarita Valley) and is Ready to Meet YOU now! Sonny is happy, healthy, neutered, has all current vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has his very own duffel bag which contains his brand new collar, leash, bed, bowl, and bag of high quality dog food. HIRO is a friendly, affectionate, and strikingly handsome 5 year old male Japanese/American Akita. He was surrendered to rescue after his family had to relocate to Korea and were unable to take Hiro with them. Hiro is a medium-large sized Akita, and weighs about 80lbs. He has a beautiful, soft, shiny blond coat and the sweetest, brightest dark brown eyes.  Hiro was very socialized as a young Akita, and has an easy-going temperament. He loves walks, car rides, or just hanging out with you. He would love nothing more than to be your loyal, lifelong, companion.     Visit our website at www.akitaangels.org. Story
Ruger is an incredibly handsome 4 year old purebred American Akita. He is friendly to new people, affectionate with those he knows, and likes to play tug-o-war! When it's time to sleep, Ruger carries his "baby" (stuffed animal) around and then snuggles up with it.  Before coming into rescue, Ruger lived in a home with kids, and another dog. We think he would be happiest being an only dog, and in a home with  Like most Akitas, Ruger will do best in a home without other dogs, or children under the age of 18. Story
Meet Atlas! 💙 This 2 year old husky joined our rescue after we saved him off the euthanasia list at the Baldwin Park shelter! With his striking icy blue eyes and classic Husky charm, Atlas is impossible to forget. This handsome boy is equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle companion. He loves being close to his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company. Like any true Husky, Atlas has plenty to say! He's wonderfully vocal and loves "talking" with his humans, whether he's greeting you after work, reminding you it's time for a walk, or simply joining the conversation. His expressive personality and hilarious Husky commentary keep everyone smiling. When he's not showing off those gorgeous blue eyes, Atlas is soaking up affection and snuggling with his favorite people. He thrives on companionship and would love a home where he can be part of the family and included in daily life. Atlas would do best in a cat-free home, as cats are not his thing. He does, however, get along well with female dogs and may enjoy having a canine sister to spend time with. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will keep you laughing, keep you company, and shower you with love, Atlas is ready to be your shadow and your snuggle partner for life.

Story
You know that dog everyone instantly falls in love with? That's Sunny! Sunny is a 6-year-old, 55 lb Husky/German Shepherd mix (who looks a bit like a Coyote!) She was originally adopted from the euthanasia list at the Bakersfield City Shelter. After years in a loving, stable home, her current owner now needs to find her a new home due to changes in their living situation. Sunny has a really sweet, loving personality. She’s the kind of dog who greets new people like they’ve always been friends. She is soft, friendly, and genuinely happy to be included. Sunny enjoys walks, toys, treats, and especially just being near her people. If you sit down, she’s likely to come over and lean in for attention or quietly settle beside you. She’s social and confident but not pushy either. Sunny gets along well with other dogs and has done well around cats too. She actually tends to help shy dogs come out of their shell feel more comfortable just by being herself. She’s good on leash, enjoys exploring, fetch, and has that classic Husky and Shepherd curiosity without being overly intense. She is still learning a few basics like indoor manners and potty training since she’s been used to living outdoors, but she’s food motivated and can be willing to learn. While she isn’t an escape artist, she is athletic and can clear a shorter fence if something catches her interest, so a secure yard is important to keep her safe. What stands out most about Sunny is how steady she feels. She’s friendly, resilient, and genuinely wants to be part of a home. Not a complicated dog, just one who wants love, routine, and people to belong to. Fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Sunny is looking for her forever home! ---- Looking to Adopt? Story
We rescued Romi as a puppy, and he has been the sweetest, most affectionate dog since. He loves people, cuddles, belly rubs, and tushy scratches, and would happily sit in someone's lap all day. We joke that he's a large lap dog. We adopted Romi when we had a large yard, but after our landlord passed away, we were forced to move to a townhouse with limited outdoor space. Since then our family has grown with a new baby, and both adults now work full time in person. Romi is wonderful with guests and great with our son. He likes to think of himself as a guard dog and will bark at delivery drivers, but he's all bark and no bite. With demanding travel work schedules and limited space, we can no longer provide the time and active lifestyle he deserves. This decision comes from love, not convenience. We want him to find a family that can give him endless affection, regular activity, and the companionship he deserves. Romi is a truly special dog who deserves to be the center of someone's world.
