Story
Hippity Hop needs a HERO!! We are looking for a foster or adopter who will absolutely spoil this boy rotten. We’re talking putting him in his own Pajamas and treating him to Pup Cups in the regular. He’s that special. Hippity Hop is 1 yr 6 months old. He was originally brought into the shelter as a small puppy/stray and his owners came in and claimed him. Then he found himself back at the shelter months later, and those same owners came back and claimed him. This happened a 3rd time!! When contacted the original owners said they would be in to get him and never came 😢. The last time he came into the shelter he came in with 2 dogs that were also a part of his family. So we know he is dog friendly. He’s been tested against male and female dogs and passed. He was also in a home that had young adolescent kids. Hippity Hop was born with funky hips. He is not in pain. But when he walks, he sometimes hops, and that’s how he got his name. He was recently put on death row, in solitary confinement at the shelter because of an incident where a man came to the shelter looking for a “big headed pitbull,” and when Hippity Hop had an interaction with him, he lunged at the guy and supposedly growled (there are different accounts of this incident). We think the guy had bad intentions and Hippity could sense it. Hippity Hop is the biggest love bug; all he wants to do when brought out to play is cuddle and kiss your face and he even wraps his from paws around you for hugs- he’s precious! He was scheduled to be euthanized 6/7 at 9:30am. A whole army of people stepped up for him and we were able to bust him free on 6/6! He had been in solitary confinement for 5 days, was up to his elbows in pee, and was ravenous for food when he finally got out. This boy has been thru so much. He deserves so much better than what he’s experienced so far. His little eyes don’t lie. He’s unsure if he’ll ever be loved. When he meets people, he craves love. It’s just so heartbreaking. We can’t wait for him to find the perfect foster/adopter!!

Story
Following the arrest of his owner, 12-year-old James Barley was brought to the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility along with seven other animals, including two dogs. When the owner was released, they were not permitted to reclaim any of the animals due to the unsafe condition of the home. James and one of the dogs had been forced to live together in a closet, while the third dog spent his entire life confined to a crate. Thankfully, James was soon welcomed into a caring foster home. and despite the heartbreaking conditions in which he lived previously, he is a very sweet and lovable boy. Now a Frosted Face, James is safe, loved, and patiently waiting for his forever family. Could that be you? Here is what we have learned about James from his foster mom: James is a happy pup who loves seeing humans and other dogs. Although he loves being petted, he calmly waits for people to walk up to him rather than approaching on his own. James' good manners extend to other dogs, and he is never reactive. James enjoys walks around the neighborhood and low-key outings such as going to get coffee or visiting his foster grandparents. James is house-trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He also knows several commands, including sit, shake, and wait. He understands pointing and responds to cues like “out!” to leave the kitchen and “go” to move to his bed when humans are eating. As much as James loves mealtime, he has no reaction to food being taken away from him. James loves cuddling on the couch and is a loving companion who asks for little. He lives for simple joys including pets, naps, short walks, and being with his people. If you have room in your heart and home for this special senior, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Mochaccina Age: 3 years | Gender: Female Mochaccina is a sweet, gentle, and affectionate girl who absolutely loves people. She gets very excited to see her humans and often greets you with a happy hug. She’s calm, docile, and makes wonderful company. She does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, walks nicely on a leash, and loves being outdoors. Mochaccina would need a cat-free home, as she tends to chase cats. One of her most charming features is her adorable tongue, which healed that way long ago and gives her extra character. She enjoys chew toys and is learning great habits every day. She’s a little sensitive to the cold and loves sunny spots and cozy blankets. Mochaccina would thrive in a loving home looking for an affectionate, people-oriented companion. ##2609174##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The tale of Robby, a 10-year-old Boxer Mix, is a heart-wrenching illustration of how a dog can be considered homeless despite technically having an owner. For a decade, Robby endured a life of neglect, living in a dilapidated dog house barely fit for a rat, positioned just outside the home of his owner. Stripped of the basic necessities of care and nourishment, he had no choice but to resort to scavenging for food, begging passersby for scraps and water, all while defending himself from the other street dogs that roamed freely. This life of hardship took its toll on his health, leaving him riddled with infections and suffering from painful rotten and broken teeth due to his desperate attempts to eat whatever he could find. Fortunately, a glimmer of hope arose when concerned individuals turned to me for assistance. I understood that Robby’s situation was a call for compassion that could not be ignored. Upon his rescue, it became clear just how much love and care Robby had been deprived of over the years. With proper veterinary care and rehabilitation, this gentle soul began to regain his health, blossoming into a vibrant and affectionate companion. Robby’s journey is of survival and resilience!! When kindness finally entered his life after years of starvation and loneliness his soul came to life. However, the scars of his past linger on. Although Robby is now a sweet dog who adores human company, the years of ill treatment have left him with food and treat aggression. These behaviors are not indicative of his character but rather a reflection of his survival instincts honed in an unforgiving environment. We continue to help Robby by overcoming his feeling of being food deprived with training and he's doing so much better. We are committed to Robby!!! It’s believed that the best path for Robby is to live as an only dog, allowing him to bask in the one thing he has longed for throughout his tumultuous life—human kindness and love. Robby's story is not just a reminder of the plight of many animals; it serves as a call to action for compassion and understanding, driving us to provide every creature the loving home they deserve. I added Robby’s before pictures on his post so you can see what his life was like and to show how resilient a beautiful soul could be. Robby deserves to live the rest of his life in peace, comfort and with a lot of love which he thrives on. If you live in San Diego County, have a home with a secured yard and would love a wonderful companion dog then please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 5:05 pm
