Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The tale of Robby, a 10-year-old Boxer Mix, is a heart-wrenching illustration of how a dog can be considered homeless despite technically having an owner. For a decade, Robby endured a life of neglect, living in a dilapidated dog house barely fit for a rat, positioned just outside the home of his owner. Stripped of the basic necessities of care and nourishment, he had no choice but to resort to scavenging for food, begging passersby for scraps and water, all while defending himself from the other street dogs that roamed freely. This life of hardship took its toll on his health, leaving him riddled with infections and suffering from painful rotten and broken teeth due to his desperate attempts to eat whatever he could find. Fortunately, a glimmer of hope arose when concerned individuals turned to me for assistance. I understood that Robby’s situation was a call for compassion that could not be ignored. Upon his rescue, it became clear just how much love and care Robby had been deprived of over the years. With proper veterinary care and rehabilitation, this gentle soul began to regain his health, blossoming into a vibrant and affectionate companion. Robby’s journey is of survival and resilience!! When kindness finally entered his life after years of starvation and loneliness his soul came to life. However, the scars of his past linger on. Although Robby is now a sweet dog who adores human company, the years of ill treatment have left him with food and treat aggression. These behaviors are not indicative of his character but rather a reflection of his survival instincts honed in an unforgiving environment. We continue to help Robby by overcoming his feeling of being food deprived with training and he's doing so much better. We are committed to Robby!!! It’s believed that the best path for Robby is to live as an only dog, allowing him to bask in the one thing he has longed for throughout his tumultuous life—human kindness and love. Robby's story is not just a reminder of the plight of many animals; it serves as a call to action for compassion and understanding, driving us to provide every creature the loving home they deserve. I added Robby’s before pictures on his post so you can see what his life was like and to show how resilient a beautiful soul could be. Robby deserves to live the rest of his life in peace, comfort and with a lot of love which he thrives on. If you live in San Diego County, have a home with a secured yard and would love a wonderful companion dog then please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 5:05 pm

Story
Coco is the perfect mix of cuddle bug and playful goofball. She'll chase a toy one minute and curl up in your lap the next. Rescued after being found abandoned in Tijuana, Coco has proven to be a resilient, loving young dog who adores people and bonds quickly. She enjoys playtime, toys, and outdoor adventures, and she also settles nicely when it's time to relax. Coco is affectionate, curious, and eager to engage with her family. She would thrive with an adopter who can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and positive reinforcement. An apartment home can work as long as her activity needs are met. Coco is still young and learning, and she'll blossom with continued structure and attention. She is being rehomed due to her current family's schedule — not because of any fault of her own. Coco is ready for a committed, loving home where she can grow into a loyal lifelong companion.

Story
Bob and Coco are both wonderful dogs. They love people, they love each other they are very bonded. They play together a lot in the mornings, and late afternoon. They bask in the sun on our balcony, quietly. They are good watch dogs. My hubby takes them for 30 minute walks in the early morning, and early evening, we call them "poop walks". They are both potty trained, Bob once in awhile has an accident in the house, if he gets too anxious or upset about new circumstances, but that is rare. We can't take them to the dog park, as Bob is too protective of Coco. Bob is a good walker, Coco requires a training collar, and does well with that. They are both snugglers. We would like to see them in a home with a secured yard. We have to re home them because the HOA we live in, changed the rules about dog size, due to it being a 55 and over Mobile Home Park. Bob is 60 pounds, Coco is 40. We are so sad to have to rehome them, we love them so much. They will bring joy.
