Story
This big girl was found in the middle of nowhere, it took us 5 days to capture her, as she was afraid. Once in our hands, she understood that nothing was wrong and gave us her trust. She is a big goofy girl, she doesn't measure her strength and is great for a very active person who likes to run around and play ball. Holly deserves lots of love and loves to receive it, we know her looks can be intimidating but she is the cutest and most adorable little girl you will ever meet! She is learning to sit to wait for her food, but she is just too playful and bouncy! Always with lots of energy and love to give. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Email for details: Tulip is available for adoption in a foster home. If you're interested in meeting Tulip, please call us at 619 299 7012 or email us at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org How this pet arrived: Tulip was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team. Why Tulip might be the one for you: Tulip gives new meaning to the word "wiggle" as she shakes with delight - not fear but with delight as she anticipates that she is going on a car adventure or a walk. She is now in a foster home where her foster Mom says she is doing great. She is calm and loves her many walks a day where she kind of plods along, sniffing any and all and not being in any hurry. Her walks are not long and she prefers them that way. Her gentle nature and delicate demeanor make her a great candidate for a patient, quiet and understanding home where she can take her time to build trust and feel secure. It will not be long before she will reward you with her affection and grow into a cherished member of your family. There will be many kisses and licks along the way as you cuddle with her. If you're ready to offer a safe and nurturing environment to pretty Tulip, contact us today and we will arrange for you to meet Tulip. At SDHS:Tulip has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brindle Weight: 53.5 Age: 6yrs 2mths 0wks

Oslo is housebroken and is great with people!Best Attribute: He's the chillest boy this side of the Mississippi.Area of opportunity: He can be protective of his home if he believes it to be his responsibility and thus needs a solid leader to set the boundaries. If you're a sucker for a dog with a big head and equally big heart, apply to meet him today at www.thebarkinglot.net/adopt!To initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. Reggie is a super sweet, very well mannered American Bulldog mix who came to us by way of Western Riverside shelter. Reggie is a confident dog and does best with female dogs, but has also done well with neutral or submissive male dogs. He is house trained and crate trained, as well as knows his basic commands - sit, come. Reggie does well on leash and loves toys. He's an all around good boy waiting patiently for his forever family. Could that be you?

Story
Astro will match your energy. He likes to run around and play and also likes to take a good old fashioned nap in the sun. I've socialized Astro since he was a puppy. He regularly goes to the dog park. True to his breed he is defensive around his owner, but he is also playful once he feels comfortable around the other dogs. At the dog park, if he observes other dogs getting into arguments, then he will jump in and break them up. He is a very curious dog. He wants to be in the center of what is happening and sees the world through his nose. He is content to just sit at your feet while you work and be with you. Astro is both crate and house trained. On cold days he will let us know he needs to go. On warm days we tend to leave the door open a little and he lets Astro knows how to sit, stay, lay down. After his daily walk he knows to sit before we will take off his harness. He also knows how to fetch. We engaged with a professional trainer to help us get him settled.

Story
Meet Camper! Camper was found tied to a bench outside of Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. We scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on February 21st. He is around 10 years old, weighs 71 lbs., and is very friendly and sweet. If you are looking for a loving, fun, and cuddly best friend, Camper might be the one for you! Camper is an all-around good boy! He's mellow, likes to play with toys, and gets along well with the 8+ dogs in his play group. Camper enjoys going on our weekly FFF hikes, has good leash manners, and walks slowly and steadily for about two miles on the trails. Casper also enjoys going on solo outings with volunteers and earns high marks for being a well-behaved, relaxed date at wineries, parks, and restaurants. He rides nicely in cars, too! Camper spent time in a foster home after having surgery to remove most of his tail due to a cancerous mass, and we are so thankful that he was able to recover in a home and get lots of TLC. His Foster Mom shared: "Camper is healthy, happy, and all healed. I am here to tell you how wonderful he is!! This sweet boy would love to be in his fur ever home, preferably with someone who has experience with anxious dogs. After being abandoned and tied up to a bench outside of the shelter, he likes two things now: toys to take with him and knowing where his person is. But that doesn't mean you can't leave him alone! As his foster mom, I obviously couldn't take him everywhere. So he stayed home when I went to work or the store, and he did just fine! Camper is GREAT with kids and other dogs. He was curious about my cats, but didn't react to them. He is a polite eater, takes his meds in his food like a champ, and loves to sleep a good chunk of the day. He will walk with you, but no need to do a mile or two...he's totally happy with a 20 minute stroll and a rest in the sunshine. Camper is house-trained, rides great in the car, and sleeps through the night. I can't wait to see this wonderful boy find his forever home!" Camper is now back on-site waiting to meet his forever family. In the meantime, he is enjoying fun adventures away from our facility with volunteers. He recently went paddle boarding, and he was a natural! He sat, stood, and even snuggled with the volunteer paddling him around the bay. Camper was so relaxed! If you are looking for a new best friend with a heart of gold, please come meet Camper!

Story
Meet Marlin! Marlin came to us from San Bernardino City Animal Control on September 4th. He is 9 years old and weighs 82 lbs. He is a social butterfly who enjoys making new two and four-legged friends. If you are looking for a sweet, calm companion who enjoys the simple pleasures of life, Marlin might just be the perfect match for you! Marlin is a handsome, big-hearted dog with a zest for sniffing out every corner of the great outdoors. He recently went on an adventure to Collier Park with a volunteer and hopped into the SUV with excitement, clearly eager for some fun. His enthusiasm continued at the park, where he spent an hour exploring every blade of grass and tree with his nose! Marlin was completely non-reactive to all that was going on at the park. From kids on bikes to joggers, he remained calm and focused on his sniffing mission. He's the definition of "chill" in a busy environment. Volunteers also treated Marlin to a stand-up paddle boarding adventure and learned that he prefers to be in the water swimming rather floating along. With a name like Marlin, that makes sense! If you're looking for a gentle, lovable, low-key guy, Marlin could be the perfect addition to your family. To see if Marlin is your new best friend, please stop by between 10:00am and 3:00pm any day of the week to meet him!

Story
Meet Yonkers! Back in May 2023, Yonkers was surrendered to the South LA shelter when his guardian could not afford his care. He has had many different kennelmates, excelled in play groups, and yet never had adoption interest, but most importantly--never deteriorated. Yonkers hung in there. He was waiting for us, and rescuing dogs like Yonkers is one of the MOST rewarding things we do, and on September 30, 2024, he became a Frosted Face. Yonkers is 9 years old and weighs 75 lbs. Volunteers treated Yonkers to a special trip to the pumpkin patch. He had his nose to the ground the whole time and really wanted to sniff the pumpkins, the farm animals, and even the hay! He was curious about the resident dog, and Frosted Face Marlin who accompanied them, but Yonkers was respectful. At Cattle Dog Coffee, Yonkers eagerly waited for a bite of grilled cheese, but he politely didn't bark or beg. He was nice to Marlin and wagged his tail at Bandit, the coffee shop pup. Riding in a car seemed like it might be a new experiene for Yonkers, as he was a bit anxious, but he did enjoy looking out the crack in the window. As you can see in the videos, Yonkers walks nicely on leash and takes treats gently. We are really proud of Yonkers. He is doing so well adjusting to a new environment at FFF and new experiences, such as going out to public places where there are many people and other dogs. He is such a good boy! After surviving at one of the country's most over-crowded shelters for 14 months, Yonkers is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling. We are looking forward to learning how he does in a home environment. Check back soon for an update!

Story
Easy, chill and loving! Hi, friends! My name is Atreyu, and I’m a 1-year-old, 31-pound, neutered Bulldog Mix.  I’ve come all the way from a shelter in Riverside, where my owner tried to relinquish me.  The shelter was at capacity at the time, but thankfully, TAP was there to scoop me up and give me a second chance at life! I’m told that I’m a super sweet boy who loves people.  My tail is always wagging, and I’m happy to see every person I meet.  I love cuddling in bed and playing tug-o-war.  I tend to wear myself out quickly during playtime, and when that happens, I like to retreat to my gated area and get a few hours of sleep.  In general, I’m a low-maintenance guy who craves routine and structure, and I do best in a calm and non-chaotic environment.  As far as training goes, I am making great progress with my potty training, and I’ve almost mastered leash training, as I do well on short walks and don’t pull.  I’m food motivated and easily trainable, so I’m confident I’ll be an expert in these two areas in no time! I also do well inside a gated area, but please don’t put me in a crate because those scare me. I don’t show any signs of separation anxiety when left behind, but I do tend to get overwhelmed easily in certain environments. To help me manage my anxiety and fixation on objects as I continue my training, I’ve been taking Prozac (~$5 for a month’s supply. Price depends on where purchased and market value).  Thankfully, I can be easily redirected when encountering a distraction, but I need structure and consistency in my environment to help support me with this. I think I’d do best in a mellow home with someone who understands the Bulldog breed and all of its quirks. I don’t need a lot of exercise, so a small house and yard would be just fine. I prefer to be left home in my gated area rather than be out and about with you.  However, as I gain more confidence and have more exposure to new situations, I’m sure I won’t be as overwhelmed as easily in public. I’d probably be best as the only doggie since I don’t like to share my toys. However, it’s possible that with a slow introduction and the right pup, I might be okay with a doggie sibling.  Absolutely no kitties, though, since I have a strong prey drive.  As far as kiddos go, I think I’d be fine around older kids (12 years and up) since I’m a vigorous player and sometimes can’t tell the difference between little fingers and toys. Even though I’m small, I’m strong and mighty and could be too much for little humans.  Do we sound like a good match? My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##2180245##

Fortunately, the whole litter was quickly rescued and they all have been adopted except Mr. Doc.  Doc is kind of an independent little guy, but he does love cuddling with his humans and he is good with kids. He also absolutely LOVES to get outside and run. He would be a great companion on walks, hikes, and runs and a great fit for someone active. Doc has good recall and does really well off-leash at the dog park! Doc is fully vaccinated, sterilized and ready to find his forever home.
