Blue is a mellow companion who’s happiest enjoying the simple things—slow walks, sunny naps, and spending time with his people. Blue is friendly with everyone he meets, including kids (he’s currently living with a 6-year-old) and other dogs. On walks, he’s shown no interest in cats and may be cat tolerant. He loves getting out for his daily strolls but keeps things relaxed—no marathon hikes required here. He’s a great leash walker and may even have some off-leash skills. Blue is also a fan of car rides (he’ll happily hop in for any outing) and—believe it or not—doesn’t mind bath time either. Blue is a well-trained, polite housemate. He’s house trained, can be left home alone without issues, and knows a long list of commands including sit, stay, down, come, leave it, and more. I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:1Cubby – Friendly, Gentle, and Playful Cubby is a 1-year-old Bulldog mix weighing 37 pounds. He’s a friendly, happy young dog who loves people, enjoys a little play, and is eager to engage with his surroundings. Friendly and social: Cubby greets people with a wagging tail and playful bows. He was especially sweet when he tried to greet a shy girl, naturally keeping his approach gentle and respectful. Treat motivated: Cubby loves treats and takes them gently, making him a fun candidate for continued training. He’s still learning “sit” and is beginning to understand the cue. Nice leash manners: Cubby walks well on leash with only some pulling. Playful: Cubby enjoys chasing a ball, although he’s not quite a dedicated fetch player yet. He attends doggie playgroup regularly and plays well with the other dogs. Adopt Pluto This handsome boy found a foster home to wait in until he finds a furever home. Pluto’s story is very heartbreaking . He didn’t deserve the fate that he had when his owner stabbed him almost to death! He was taken to the ER and revived by his amazing hospital staff. He was taken to the shelter and that’s where we were able to take him in. Pluto Does GREAT on walks!! He also Does well with other dogs, he also pays little to no attention to other dogs on walks and he seems to mind his own. Pluto plays fetch, 100% and prefers squeak toys He gets a little fixated on cats but hasn’t met any in the same home yet. Pluto honestly is overall such a great dog and i think any family would definitely love him ! Pluto is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and ready for a home. He came from neglect and had so much trauma to his body. He was stabbed by a human and lives to find a better life! His ER nurse helped him recover and then became his foster! Pluto didn’t deserve such abuse and now he gets a chance to find a home. He might be around 3 years old and has a whole life ahead of him! Pluto was rescued from the Stanislaus animal shelter. King came to Jelly's Place with Chonchi. They had livedvtogether theircwhole lives and we originally thought that they needed to be adopted together. However, since being in a foster home for several months, we and the foster feel that they can be adopted separately. King was extremely overweight when he first got here; hence the name King Size. He has since lost about 10 pounds and looks and feels so much better. King is a a big lover boy and couch potato. He is affectionate, eager to please and happy to snuggle up by your feet. He never turns down a treat which makes him easy to train. His foster said this about King: King is loving, sweet, wants belly rubs and pets.
