Story
Enzo is a tender, affectionate and friendly boy but also shy. Calm and submissive temperament. He gets along perfectly with other dogs, cats and even children of all ages. Enzo is a low-activity dog who prefers to spend his time sleeping or just lying down. It is the ideal companion to spend long moments of peace. It is not noisy; He barks little and does not howl. He may be shy at first but once he gains confidence you will meet a very sweet dog who will follow you everywhere. He loves eating treats, taking naps in the sun, taking quiet walks, and cuddling with each other. It is not destructive or bite things. You can put clothes on him or leave him with a harness without problem. He knows how to sit, wait for his food and walk on a leash. He has experience living with other dogs of different ages and sizes, both females and males, and with cats. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. Story
Meet Abby! This beautiful 7-month-old, 28-pound princess is truly the most adorable and cute little girl you'll ever meet. She is a little survivor of 12, her mom was abandoned and at one day old, Abby and her 11 siblings were left in a box in the middle of nowhere with no shade. When we came for them after receiving a report from a neighbor of the owner, there were only 5 babies left alive, and we found the rest already dead inside a plastic bag with a knot in it. Abby grew up happy with her litter, they are very active and loving little ones. She is learning to walk on her leash, lives well with dogs and cats and is the most chubby of her litter. She is the smiliest and is very intelligent. It would be ideal for her to grow up in a home with children, she likes walks and although she is a little shy at first, she usually comes out of her shell quickly. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Tyson is a very happy go lucky dog.  He was pulled from Tijuana Animal Control February  2022.  He was very emaciated and very sick.  He weighed only 33 pounds at intake with us.  He has gained more than thirty pounds while in our care.  His tail had to be amputated as he had "Happy tail."  He could not stop wagging his tail and would break the tail open and spray blood all over everything by wagging it really hard and bumping itno things.  He is an amazing boy.  He loves adults, kids, other dogs, and just about everything.  He will be a wonderful addition to any family's home! ##1328861##

Story
My journey started as a stray darting in and out of traffic on a busy street and seeking cover in the adjacent riverbed.  I could be seen at night going house to house, looking for food and especially loved the yards with dogs.  Once humanely trapped, no owner came for me so here I am looking for my forever family.  I would do best with another confident dog in the home.  Once I trust I am incredibly sweet and eager to please.  I need someone willing to be patient and love me unconditionally while I adjust to my new environment.  I LOVE dogs and am high energy when it comes to play.  I prefer women and have a deep seated fear of men but can learn to trust.  I get to enjoy outings for pack walks but don't do well "sitting" in chaotic settings.  The noises, people and activity still scare me, even a year later.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  I would love to find that person who will let me learn to trust, grow into their heart and let me be their new home body where I feel safe.  To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1339002##

Story
6yr old Bridget lingered at the Imperial County Shelter for 5 months and after a few short days in a loving foster home, she has proven to be all her Boxer breed has to offer. Playful, Respectful, completely housetrained, joyful and fun to be around. She loves the companionship of some other dogs, as well as enjoying toys, she knows the difference between a shoe that is not hers to chew and a toy that she clearly will chew. Bridget can go from calm, chill to "let's go for a walk" in an instant. She rides well in a car, she loves the outdoors and her walks, she is a zig zagger on walks so we are working to work on that, but all in all, this girl is well behaved, respects boundaries and is a diamond in the ruff of the rough. Keep an eye out on this lovely girl, she is ready to join your family and bring you endless joy for many years to come. She's a completed application away from a chance to meet her at https://lionelslegacy.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Playful, goofy and friendly 1 year old male pit mix. Meet Simon, a Baja rescue dog with a great story! Simon was rescued after being hit by a car in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. He had lost the use of his back legs, but was still smiling his happy smile at everyone he met! Thanks to great vet care, physical therapy and loving fosters, Simon has regained the use of his legs and now runs around happily playing and greeting everyone he meets.  The vet believes the collision caused temporary paralysis which is now resolved. Simon is a big goofball who loves to play, gets along with other dogs, is housebroken, loves people and has loads of personality. He will do well in a home that can get him plenty of exercise and playtime.  He is still very much a puppy at heart and still learning his manners, but walks well on leash and has learned to Sit for treats! Simon would do well in an active home where he can get the exercise he needs, probably not with small children or cats, but he gets along well with female dogs. Simon is fully vaccinated, sterilized, healthy and ready to find his forever humans! Simon is currently being fostered in La Paz, BCS, but is available for video meet and greets and can be transported anywhere on the US West Coast or Canada. Be sure to watch the video below of Simon to get a feel for his goofy personality! Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Story
This big girl was found in the middle of nowhere, it took us 5 days to capture her, as she was afraid. Once in our hands, she understood that nothing was wrong and gave us her trust. She is a big goofy girl, she doesn't measure her strength and is great for a very active person who likes to run around and play ball. Holly deserves lots of love and loves to receive it, we know her looks can be intimidating but she is the cutest and most adorable little girl you will ever meet! She is learning to sit to wait for her food, but she is just too playful and bouncy! Always with lots of energy and love to give.
