Story
Ragnar is 74 pounds of fun. He loves to play and is very curious. He loves to play tug of war, and he will chase anything you throw. He loves people and he will happily lie down with his head in your lap (he's a lovebug). He really is a great dog. He was born on 7/3/2023 and is neutered, crate trained and house broken. He is a little over 2 years old and is basically a puppy and he does puppy things. He likes to chew things so give him lots of toys. So why rehome him? Rags (what I call him) was left with me by a friend who was arrested and will not be getting out of jail for years. I have Roogie a Cane Corso and Stella a female Catahoula. My Corso is almost 4 y/o and is jealous of anyone getting attention from me or Stella. This has led to terrible fights. All 3 dogs were intact when he arrived and that was an issue. The fights began when she went into heat. The fights were brutal, and I've had to put Rags in the garage. Both dogs were at fault.

Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.Age:5 Weight: 115 Location: Syracuse, NY Nicknames: Good with other dogs?: Yes. Can be reactive with some large male dogs Good with cats? yes Good with children? yes Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Champion couch potato IQ: Average Rocko's favorite things: Kongs or toys for hard chewers Squeaky toys Large bones Cheese strings/ american cheese slice Chasing leaf blowers, weed whackers, vacuums or anything that makes loud noise Rocko is good at: meeting people, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, playing Ideal home: a fenced yard Training Needs: other: crate training (has not been crated since 1 yr old) Health issues: Environmental allergies that affect paws/skin. He takes low dose of prednisone (~2mg) each day to help manage swollen paws. We also clean paws daily with diluted chlorhexidine and 'mud buster' cleaner. When flare ups are bad we get a prescription of Keflex from the veterinarian. He may respond well to allergy immunotherapy but we have not tried that yet. Meet Rocko Rocko is a big-hearted, 5-year-old American Bulldog who’s as sweet as he is strong. He’s fully house-trained, neutered, and loves spending time with people of all ages. Despite his impressive size, Rocko is a total gentle giant—affectionate, calm, and very aware of his strength. He enjoys a moderate amount of exercise—one good walk a day keeps him happy and healthy. Rocko knows his basic commands (“sit,” “stay,” “come,” “wait,” and “go”) but, like most bulldogs, he can be a little stubborn at times. He’s up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. Rocko does have mild environmental allergies that cause occasional paw irritation. To keep him comfortable, he takes a low daily dose of prednisone. This routine has worked well to manage his symptoms. When outside, Rocko should remain on-leash—he’s generally good about staying nearby, but his recall isn’t reliable once he’s distracted. He’s non-aggressive and has done well around other dogs, though he can sometimes be reactive toward large male dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on love and routine, Rocko might be your perfect match! Story
Age:2 Weight: 65 lbs Location: Southern MD Good with other dogs?: Yes. Spaghetti is very friendly with other dogs. She loves to wrestle and play. She can be timid around new pups but once she gets comfortable, look out for that bulldog sass! Spaghetti is pushy. Her foster brother tirelessly tolerates her stealing toys and chews from his mouth, pushing him out of the way for pets from her foster mom, and endless paw punches and corn cobbing his jowls. A canine companion for Spaghetti should be a good natured fellow that can handle a pushy bulldog gal. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? OK for kids over: 10 Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time. IQ: Smart Spaghetti's favorite things: Spaghetti loves antlers, chew toys, zoomies, and sun spots. Spaghetti is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing Ideal home: another dog, a fenced yard Training Needs: socialization with people, needs obedience training Health issues: Spaghetti is finally off medical hold!! She has bilateral TPLO surgery in April 2025 and has recovered beautifully!! She is no longer lame and loving her new pain free life. Meet Spaghetti Spaghetti is so ready for her forever home!! It has been a long journey for her but she’s finally healthy and pain free! She went through bilateral TPLO surgery and a very long recovery period. Now she has two new knees and is looking for her next adventure. Spaghetti is a very sweet girl that captures the heart of everyone she meets. She’s a vet favorite and we can’t believe she hasn’t been scooped up yet. Spaghetti is crate and potty trained and does fine home alone. Spaghetti wants to be close to you whenever you are home so she will follow you around the house and try to cuddle at every opportunity. She loves to be outside and lay in a sun spots she is frequently caught snoozing on the front porch when the weather is nice. Spaghetti loves to wrestle and zoomie with her foster brother now that her legs are all better. They spend hours outside rolling in grass and exploring so a fenced yard is preferred. If you’re looking for a love bug with a big personality, Spaghetti is your girl. To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application.
