I love Lucy! And you will too! A perfect family dog, a perfect running buddy, a dog-loving-dog, a perfect work-from-home companion, a total cuddle bug, Lucy checks every box. We think Lucy is an American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully mix, but with rescue it is always a guess. She’s estimated to be around 2 years old. Fall in love here: https://youtu.be/daHNiR8QtLI?feature=shared Lucy is currently thriving in a foster home with her foster mom and dad, who describe her as a huge couch potato. She’s so lovable that one of our directors temporarily fostered her too, in a home with many other dogs and a thirteen year old daughter. Lucy is fantastic with kids, previously having lived with a nine year old and a fifteen year old. She even had a chance to meet four year old Kobe, another director’s kiddo. Lucy and Kobe were fast friends, Lucy was so gentle and affectionate with him. She took treats sweetly from his hands, and even snuggled up with him in bed. See for yourself in her video! We think Lucy would make a phenomenal family dog. Lucy is deaf, which comes as a benefit in many ways. Her foster mom says it’s great because she can get ready in the morning, make her coffee, tell her husband goodbye- all without waking Lucy. Her resident dog’s barking doesn’t instigate Lucy- and when Lucy had a sleepover with another foster, they reported the same! Lucy visited the rescue on a particularly hectic day, in the middle of a construction project and some seriously loud tree removal, she was completely unbothered by all of it. Despite her deafness, Lucy is a wonderful communicator. She responds to hand commands, takes correction well with a water squirt bottle, and checks in regularly with eye contact. Praising her is easy, she loves treats, and treats will always communicate “good dog.” She’s a very gentle treat taker, and she loves cheese! The best thing about Lucy is her personality. She has the most wonderful, warm and friendly vibe. She regularly goes places with her foster mom, and makes fast friends with strangers. With dogs, it’s just the same. Lucy loves to play, and greets with affection and measured enthusiasm. Our director that fostered her called her submissive with other dogs, and Lucy’s current foster mom calls her respectful of other dogs. We’ve never seen Lucy meet a dog she doesn’t like. Lucy is so good with other dogs that she’s been used as an assessment dog- welcoming new intake dogs, teaching them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, and teaching us humans about the new dog’s dog-to-dog behaviors. In one particularly memorable assessment, Lucy’s warmth and love went incredibly far to open up a shy and scared dog. He was panting, cowering and scared before he met Lucy, but once Lucy came out it was all play. If your dog needs an emotional support dog of their own, Lucy is your girl. Lucy’s playstyle with other dogs can span from calm and sweet to rough and rowdy. With playful, higher energy dogs she’ll play chase, but with our lower energy Great Pyrenees male she stuck to jaw-sparring and mellow wrestling. She’s just such a versatile dog! Lucy has visited dog parks, and enjoyed playing with the other dogs, and she’s participated in large playgroups happily. She’s a doggy-daycare type, a natural canine socialite. A male, medium energy dog would be Lucy’s perfect doggy sibling match. In her foster home, Lucy is such a chill girl. Her foster mom says she spends most of every day sleeping. She sleeps on the couch for hours at a time, wakes up, checks on everyone, and then settles at her foster dad’s feet while he works from home. She’ll snuggle up with her doggy foster brother in bed. She loves to sunbathe in the backyard, on their outdoor couch, of course. When she’s not sleeping, she enjoys playing in the backyard with her doggy foster brother and going on runs with her foster mom. The perfect running companion, her foster mom calls her. Lucy has good basic leash skills, and sticks by your side when you’re running. She’ll need a little practice with a new handler before showing you her best leash walking skills, but once you’ve hit that groove with her she’s just perfect on leash. Lucy is adorable in every way. She loves toys, but she’s gentle with them. She’s uber affectionate but never too pushy with her kisses. She likes to snuggle, sit in your lap, and lick your hands and face. She’s so friendly with everyone that she meets, a perfect pup for those with big families or lots of friends. She’s also a total lazybones couch potato, totally content to just be your best friend. Lucy is ready for her happily ever after! We think she would appreciate a home with outdoor space to play and sunbathe. Lucy is used to being left at home all day while the parents work at the office. Lucy could live with kiddos and pups, but we don’t recommend her for a home with kitties. We are willing to test Lucy with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Story
What makes a perfect dog? For me, it’s having a similar energy level to humans- a dog that can enjoy a couch hang, or accompany me on a walk. It’s a connection to humans and an ease of communication, check-ins and trainability. It’s a loving nature that will allow for snuggling, kissing and lots of pets, but I don’t want the dog to be too pushy about asking for pets. By all of these measures, and more, Woody is a perfect dog. Woody is estimated to be just 3 years old, and weighs in at a squishy 82 pounds. We think he’s a Pittie mix, but he is a rescue so this is simply our best guess. Fall in love with Woody here: https://youtu.be/166eYRxxb3k?feature=shared Woody is an amazing family dog. He currently lives in a devoted foster home, with a foster family who loves him to the ends of the earth. He’s spent a ton of time with a baby, a nine year old and a twelve year old. He’s so gentle, loving and caring with them. He snuggles on the couch with them, he’s easy-going enough to never scare them with energy or play, and he gives them the sweetest kisses. In his foster home, Woody has been nothing short of amazing. He’s easy on leash, he doesn’t pull despite his size and strength. He’s crated often and does really well in his kennel, he’s quiet and doesn’t have potty accidents in there. He’s a great car rider and lays down in the back of mom’s SUV. He gets along well with the resident 7 pounds chiweenie and coexists well with the 3 house cats. (Yes, we cat tested him at the rescue too! See him with our house cat Biggie in his adoption video.) With other dogs, Woody is polite but not too playful. Here at the rescue he met two of our most playful pups and was so respectful with both of them. He reads other dogs body language well, and communicates well with other dogs. He’s an emotionally healthy, totally evolved gentleman! (Swoon!) Woody has also attended a ton of adoption events, where he socializes on leash with other dogs, and he’s never had an issue. You can take this guy to a busy city park with no worries. Woody is soooo loving with everyone he meets. He greets everyone with love, hugs and kisses. It extends beyond that though, Woody’s initial excitement to meet new people quickly gives way to this really mellow, instant best friend type experience. He just loafs around, checks in, gives affection here and there. He’s a really easy dog to spend time with. Woody is a volunteer favorite! This is exactly how he won his way into such a loving foster home. If you have lots of friends, a big family, or a busy social calendar, Woody promises to be a great host. He’ll be such an easy dog to find a dog-sitter for when you go out of town, he truly loves everyone. I would be remiss not to tell you this bit- Woody’s favorite place to be is on the couch with a toy in his paws. He’s a huge couch potato type, and here at the rescue he was a huge fan of the small “pet couch.” He loves to be cozy, and I have a feeling many comfy cozy movie nights are in his future. All of these words, and there’s still so much to say about Woody! He’s just such a good boy, apply today and schedule a video call- anyone that knows Woody is ready to gush and gush about what a great dog he is. He’s ready for his forever home. We think Woody would be a great family dog. He could definitely live with other dogs, and/or dog-savvy cats. He’s not too picky about his new digs- he just asks you have a couch that he can cuddle on and a few treats to give every day. We are willing to test Woody with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Qbert is a total meathead, meatball, chubby bubby heartthrob, and a total sweet heart. His looks are unmatched and undeniable. He is probably the most handsome dog that has ever come into our program. I immediately fell in love as soon as I met him but I am also a sucker for meatheads. His looks speak for its self and his meathead and gorgeous eyes are just a few of the many reasons why we love him. He's got a big personality to match his aesthetic and his personality is out of this world! Watch his video and fall in love with this big boy: https://youtu.be/L9jzT_epjbU?si=JEdKxn3LDbu9MC9B Qbert is an American bulldog/staffie mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 68 lbs of pure love. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Qbert is very dog friendly and loves other dogs! He plays like a big boy to match his big boy personality. He has a playful "rough and tumble" play style with his doggy friends that matches that big personality he has. He might barrel into a game with a little too much enthusiasm, but his intentions are all about having a good time. He's the type of boy that will use his paws and his whole body when he is playing, bouncing and rolling around in those wrestling matches and is always up for a fun game of chase too. He is definitely a character when he is playing and there will be no shortages of laughter with this guy and his goofy playful antics. His best friend that he loves to play with is a playful and goofy female that can match his playful rowdy spirit and isn't phased by his big boy wrestling matches. If you have a dog whose play-style could be described as rough and rowdy, Qbert would love to be their new bestie. Qbert isn't all play all the time either, he knows when it's time to take a play break and also appreciates hanging out in the yard with his doggy friends enjoying the fresh air. If you don't have another dog, that's okay too! Qbert is not the type that needs another dog in the home to help him feel comfortable or open up, he is a happy and confident boy all on his own and will be just fine being your one and only. When it comes to training, Qbert loves treats and will do anything for a tasty snack! He already knows how to sit, is crate and potty trained, and walks well on a leash, even with his size. He will be a great dog to take with you on hikes, walks at the park, or even trips to the beach because he loves water! So bonus points if you have a pool or a pound in your backyard. If you don't have either of those, he will be just as happy with a little kiddie pool to romp around in. His ideal home would have a backyard where he can zoom around, play with his toys, and sunbathe during those nice summer days. He loves people and is a social butterfly, so if you're someone that likes to host, have friends over for backyard BBQ's, Qbert will be right there in the midst of all the entertainment. I'm sure he will be on of the main talking points in all your conversations as well. Qbert loves to play with toys and would love if his future home had a basket full of all his favorite toys to play with. He's not picky about the toys the likes, he likes them all. He is so funny when he is playing with a toy because he will shake the toy with all his might with drool and slobber flying in every direction LOL. So be prepared to be sprayed! You honestly can't help but laugh or even care about the slobber because Qbert is just so happy and living his best life. Qbert is a big lover boy and loves affection and loves to give you wet slobbery kisses and lean his whole body up against you for booty scratches. I can see him being the biggest snuggle buddy after a game of tug of war in the backyard or after going on an adventure to the park or the beach. He is the perfect balance of playfulness and snuggles. Qbert can do both and he's ready to find his forever family! We are willing to test Qbert with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match for you. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
His name is Blu only because it's his color, not because he has got the saddies, in fact he fights away any blues. If you love the big boys with simple ways, Blu is going to go right for your heart. Take a look, get to know him and see his happy tail in motion, then come back and learn more. https://youtu.be/YktbFBHE5-c With a dog like him it is hard to know where to start but lets get the “business” out of the way- Blu is estimated to be 3 years old and is possibly a Staffie/pitbull mix but given he is a rescue we cannot offer his age or breed with 100% certainty. Those are just details, what really matters is the heart of him, and thats one big ol’ loving heart. If you are looking for a running partner, he might miss the mark there, but if you are looking for a solid presence, sweet kisses, and a side of couch potato, you are in the right spot. On leash, Blu forgets he is a big boy in the sense that he needs the occasional reminder that y’all are walking together, when he gets a little power up he can pull but he is receptive to corrections simply being reminded that he is on leash. He is a big, lovable guy who is eager to learn and treat motivated, a combination that will make him receptive to learning new skills by your side. When passing another dog he will show interest but he is not going to insist on meeting them or give them much more than a friendly glance and maybe an excited body wiggle. Blue does know sit and is very patient when waiting for a treat, with a soft mouth once he is allowed to take it from your hand. Blu was introduced to a few new dogs to get a feel for his play style and the type of dogs that he makes connections with. During on-leash greetings he was polite with an obvious happy enthusiasm to meet a new friend. Once they met, each and every time we expected him to turn all that happy wiggle into a play session with his new friend but instead, he walked off, strutted is more like it. From there he was easy-company, happily grazing with the dogs, sharing treats, or simply walking along together. He may not have a super playful side but he is a great companion that isn’t pushy or insistent. We loved seeing his approach with a small, almost spicy little bully mix who wanted to make it very clear she was confident and not in the mood for any funny business if he was thinking about it. Whether he was or not, who knows, but he received the message with full respect like a confident male would. An ideal home for Blu would be one where he is either joining an easy-going female as a companion or coming home to be your one-and-only. He gets so much fulfillment from the connection with his people that he does not need a dog to be satisfied. Cozy places to nap, treats and a steady supply of toys paired with belly rubs and a few smooches is his version of heaven. No cats for Blu though, he is a bit too interested, looking at them almost like he isn’t sure if that is just a fun new toy. Either way, he would approach it all wrong and that is no fun for anyone. A home with a yard would be ideal and given his size and love for toys, older kids would be best. Older kids have steady legs and don’t leave toys laying around that Blu could confuse as a new dog toy. From everything we have seen and a detail we pay close attention to when a dog is in a home- he is fully house and crate trained! Another way the slightly older dogs are such a catch Don’t let the look of Blu fool you, he is full of love and ready for forever. Questions? We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Here is your Chance! Your chance at the ultimate beefcake! He truly has one of the cutest beefcake faces with an all-star smile. He is more than his good looks though, he is your classic bully boy—chill and playful, with aspirations for lap-dog life. Take a look at him in action then. come back to read more! https://youtu.be/6Y8LClPzyWs Chance is estimated to be right around 2 years old and he weighs 63 lbs. Age and breed are details we cannot guarantee given he is a rescue but everything from his looks to his personality lead us to believe he is an American bully mix of some sort. Sure he isn’t your typical “lapdog” size but he knows that so he approaches snuggles gently and carefully, you will never see him come barreling in for love. Honestly, he is so respectful he often will wait until you make the first move before getting in close. His signature move though is what we call the love lean, if you are standing or even sitting really, he will lean his weight into your legs in the quiet, loving way. He wants to be touching without interrupting you or being too demanding. We love it, it feels like a hug. The ideal home for Chance would be a home with a yard and if it was up to him he would love to be the center of attention but if not, he would enjoy a playful, easygoing female. Without another dog chances are he will get a steady stream of new toys and he is going to love that! The day that we met him he showed us his love of toys, had a blast playing with a group of people and showed off that he will fetch a toy and bring it right back to you. An apartment with shared walls isn’t best as he can use his voice on occasion and we don’t want any noise complaints on account of this lover boy. A condo/townhome is a possibility, he doesn’t need a yard as long as he is getting regular walks for his physical health and chances to socialize for his mental health. No kitties for Chance though, he was introduced to our house cat and he was very interested in meeting him in a way that we recognize as the overly eager curiosity that leads to chasing and chasing leads to chaos and an unhappy cat. As for kids, he’d do best in a home with older ones (10+) he’s a solid boy and could accidentally knock over a little one. When he met a very wiggly and giggly four year old he was happy to get love from him and was so patient and unbothered by his yelling and little kicks on his belly while they were snuggled up. Chance is fostered in a home with a single woman and she praises the comforting presence he gives her. Not only the love and snuggles, but when on a walk or while she sits at the charging station for her electic vehicle, his size and looks alone have a major bodyguard effect. That is something we can only see as a positive! Knight in shining armor or polar bear buddy, he is a fun, confident dog with a million dollar smile. Questions about Chance or the adoption process?
