Story
This is our sweet precious Lucy. Lucy had an owner but her owner used to turn her out every day to wander the streets. A friend of the rescue would pick her up when she saw her and bring her home. She feared that Lucy would get hit by a car so one day when she returned her home, she asked the owners if they would surrender her to a rescue. They agreed and Lucy arrived here happy as a clam. She's a big girl, not fat, just a big girl. She's a very gentle big girl, sleeps in my bed with all the little ones sleeping on top of her! She loves children and cats. She was heart worm positive when she arrived but we have cleared all of that up. Lucy maybe a little older at 8 years but she has the energy of a puppy. She loves to play all day with the rest of the shelter dogs. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and house broken. She needs her forever home, could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $350

Story
Female, approx. 5 years old, 46 lbs Personality: playful, easygoing, affectionate, snuggler, and outgoing. Who doesn't love a good Muffin? Especially a sweet, canine Muffin like me looking for a furever home. I am new to DC and just love it here, particularly long walks and being petted. I have a four-legged roommate who loves to play, but I am also totally chill on my own. I'm also a fan of people, and I will enthusiastically greet anyone who lets me give them love! I have learned so much since coming to DC, like improving my leash skills and sleeping in a cozy crate. I'm making progress on house training too! If you are craving a Muffin, let's meet. I can show you my leash skills and my friendly demeanor. I assure you; your Muffin craving will be satisfied with a lifetime of fun memories and no boring fiber. ________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. I'm in a FOSTER HOME! If you want to meet me, you can start the process by emailing my foster parent at: amijbeast@gmail.com to set up a time to virtually meet me. This sweet boy is a friendly, outgoing adolescent. Jimmy is housetrained and enjoys affection. Jimmy is easy to walk and is polite with strangers, happy to greet people, and ignores other dogs or shows some interest. He's comfortable riding in the car.Found on the street Jimmy is hoping to find a home and family to which he can give his love and affection. Jimmy wags his tail nonstop and enjoys a fun game of fetch! And although he takes sniffing around the yard very seriously, he'll come when called and will be very excited to give a kiss or two to his favorite people! Could that be you? Come and meet this pup. And if you have a family consider him - Jimmy would make a good family dog - helping kids get energy out of their system with some outside time! Check out Jimmy's video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1svDVbWWBrA

To learn more about Nugget, please get in touch with his foster at xgenic@gmail.com Hello, I'm Nugget! I love to play! I'll fetch and chase with all my toys, but I'm very responsible in the house and won't touch anything I shouldn't. I sometimes growl like a dragon when I get really playful, but just me talking, and I'm very gentle. I know all my basic commands, walk nicely on the leash, and eat all my approved doggie vegetables. I've had many doggie roommates and do well with non-dominant dogs once I get over my initial excitement of meeting them. I'm still a bit nervous around human strangers and do best with new people who approach me with care, but warm up once I get to know you - especially if you carry a piece of cheese in your hand! I hope to meet my forever playmates soon, who can help me feel secure and calm and be my best self!

To learn more about Rubi, please get in touch with sueneuhart19@gmail.com. Hi, I'm Rubi! Are you seeking a super smart, fun-loving cuddler? Look no further! I'm a star student- I've got some cues and tricks in my repertoire, and I'm always eager to learn more! Games are another big favorite - I always have time for a long round of fetch (I can catch in the air!) and tug-of-war. I'm also up for any adventure, especially one that includes a hike, a sandy spot to dig, or water to splash in. I also love car rides. I am house trained and know how to behave when I'm left home by myself. If you work from home, I will be your quiet colleague but will alert you when mail arrives. Following a morning walk I'm happy to snooze by your side. I would love to have a home where I can go on happy walks with you and sniff out my surroundings. A backyard would also be so much fun! I would prefer to be your one and only furry friend in the home. I can make friends with other dogs, but I prefer to get to know them slowly and pick those whom I have something in common with, like similar size or play style. I love being around my people and it just takes me a little time to make new human friends. And I am all about the child-free lifestyle! One last fun fact. I was born without a tail, but my nub works just fine when I'm super happy. There's so much more I could tell you about myself, but instead, I'd love to meet you. I can't wait to meet you and find my forever home!

To learn more about Rosie, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Rosie will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Rosie is truly the sweetest, most easy going and affectionate soul looking for her forever home! She is appreciative of any love and attention she receives and would be a wonderful addition to any family willing to give her the love she deserves. She is incredibly adaptable and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is friendly and greets everyone she meets with a tail wag and a kiss. She has been introduced to children and is incredibly sweet with everyone she meets. She has been so patient and gentle with young children. She is incredibly affectionate and loves being around other dogs and people! She absolutely loves going for walks and exploring the outdoors. Rosie has shown excellent leash skills. While at home, she loves cuddling and receiving belly rubs (and treats). She is so smart and has been doing very well with learning commands such as "sit and "stay (she is very treat-motivated). Rosie has demonstrated an understanding of house training and crate training, so some treat reinforcement will greatly benefit Rosie. She will require lots of energy, attention, and stimulation, so get your active on with Rosie! Everyone who meets Rosie falls in love with her sweet energy. Who will be Rosie Riveter's forever home? You can be!

Story
We have a special boy to introduce to the families and couples out there wanting a truly special older pup that is totally trained and waiting to love you to pieces. True Blue Toby is a 10 month old Boxer mix puppy that was found as a stray and not in the best shape.  In fact he looked terrible and we felt so bad for this boy to have suffered for so many months.  Once he came to our care we got to work on clearing up hair loss and getting him healthy from those pesky intestinal worms and putting good weight on him.  Gosh Toby is the best boy with a wonderful personality that embraces everyone with love and the anticipation to become steadfast friends.  Shy at first, this boy has blossomed and is Mr. Outgoing in every way.  He just wants to hang out with his humans and love them with full gratitude for making him such a healthy boy.  Housebroken, crate trained and wonderful with other dogs and cats, he is the truly total package if you are looking for a medium sized dog.  He is going to be a 50 pound adult and what a handsome Boxer mix boy he is turning in to.   Email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue :   ccrnewengland@gmail.com   We know will be glad you considered this boy as your very own. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 23, 2024, 9:08 am

Story
Male, 5 years old, 50lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Kids Not compatible with: Cats House trained: Yes Energy level: Low Noise level: Quiet Hi! I’m Huffy, your laid-back canine companion who thrives on affection. I'm the kind of dog who loves sticking close to my humans, craving cuddles and pets throughout the day. Thunderstorms? No bother for me – I'm a chill pup with not much that ruffles my fur. In terms of training, I've got the basics down pat. While I'm still working on perfecting my 'sit' and maintaining composure when passing other dogs on walks, I'm eager to learn and please. When it comes to activities, I enjoy leisurely strolls, playful romps in the dog park, and even being a couch potato, making me a versatile companion to your lifestyle. With a low energy level, I'm content with laid-back activities, offering you a relaxing and enjoyable presence. My schedule is flexible, with morning and evening walks being a highlight after work. Whether it's a day at daycare or spending time at home with a walker, I adapt easily to different routines. Living conditions? No need for a yard, and I'm a quiet companion – no excessive barking here. In fact, I'm a well-behaved pup, leash trained, crate trained, and comfortable in the car. Lap pet? Absolutely. Obedient, affectionate, and eager to please – that's me. Surprisingly, I don't come with a list of negative traits. I'm an easygoing fellow, making me a delightful addition to any home. When it comes to compatibility, I'm good for seniors/elderly, suitable for apartment living, and an excellent choice for first-time dog owners.  If you're seeking a calm, affectionate, and adaptable companion, I'm Huffy – ready to bring joy and companionship to your life! My foster guardian says: "Huffy is a gem. He is so chill and loves to hang by his humans for as many pets he can get." Likes: Cuddles, being near my person Dislikes : Nothing, really! My ideal home: I can thrive anywhere!
