Story
If your preferred pace of life leans to "mellow," Lucy is your girl! In addition to being as cute as can be, she is a happy girl who has excellent house manners. She is house trained, crate trained, non-destructive, and obedient, clean and well-mannered. She bonds closely to her humans and is very happy to just lie on a dog bed near her family. She's not a high-energy dog, but does enjoy playing with her toys in the backyard. She ignores cats and will happily share her home with one (or more), but wants to be your only canine companion. Lucy is a sweet girl with the most beautiful soulful eyes, and she would love to have a person or family of her own to devote herself to. Story
Iris is a beautiful american bully, loving girl born on February 23, 2023, weighing approximately 57–60 lbs. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves being around people. Iris has a wonderful personality—she rarely barks, is very athletic, loves to run, and has plenty of energy for outdoor adventures. She does have seasonal coat allergies, but otherwise is a happy and healthy dog. We’re looking for a family who can give Iris the time, love, and attention she truly deserves. Due to our busy work schedules and frequent travel, we can no longer provide the active lifestyle and companionship she needs. She would thrive in a home with a yard or plenty of space where she can safely run, explore, and be part of the family. This is an incredibly difficult decision because Iris has been a cherished member of our family. We are committed to finding her a loving forever home where she will be spoiled with affection, exercise, and the freedom to be the happy, energetic dog she is.

Story
Meet Maxwell! Say hello to Maxwell — a big, goofy, loveable and absolutely charming boy who found himself in need of rescue through absolutely no fault of his own. Maxwell was surrendered by his previous family and although his heart is still healing from that loss this incredibly sweet and playful boy is ready to find the safe, loving and forever home he so deeply deserves. Maxwell's Story: Maxwell came to us when his previous family could no longer keep him — a situation that was completely out of his control and not a reflection of who he is in any way whatsoever. His former family described him as a big, goofy and immensely playful companion who brought joy and laughter into their home every single day. That dog is still very much in there — working through the confusion of losing everything familiar and slowly but surely letting his wonderful personality shine through again. What His Previous Family Said About Him: The people who knew Maxwell best described him as: Big & Goofy — Maxwell has a larger than life personality and a silly, playful nature that is completely and utterly endearing Immensely Playful — This boy loves to play and brings so much fun and energy to every interaction Perfectly House Trained — Maxwell is fully house broken and knows exactly how to behave in a home environment Crate Trained — Maxwell is comfortable and relaxed in his crate and uses it without any issues whatsoever Free Roams Peacefully — When left alone Maxwell is capable of free roaming the home without any adverse incidents. A truly remarkable quality that speaks to his calm and trustworthy nature History with Children & Dogs — Maxwell has previously lived successfully with both children and dogs of all sizes showing his adaptable and gentle nature Maxwell at the Shelter: We want to be completely honest about where Maxwell is right now because this sweet boy deserves nothing less than full transparency. The shelter environment has been genuinely difficult for this sensitive soul. Away from the only family he has ever known, surrounded by new faces and unfamiliar dogs passing his kennel, Maxwell has understandably experienced heightened anxiety and unease. But here is what is so remarkable about this boy — despite all of that our dedicated behavior team has watched him gradually open up and reveal the same loveable, goofy and wonderful personality his previous family fell so deeply in love with. That dog never went anywhere. He is right there, just waiting for the right environment to let him fully shine. Our behavior team is working hard to move Maxwell to a quieter section of the shelter where he can decompress and feel more at ease while he waits for his forever home. What Maxwell Needs: A Calm & Quiet Home — Maxwell is a sensitive boy who truly thrives in a peaceful environment where he can feel completely safe and secure Calm Canine Companions — Maxwell does beautifully in playgroups and enjoys the company of other dogs. He does best with calmer dogs as high energy canines can sometimes feel overwhelming for this gentle soul ‍‍ Child Free Environment Recommended — Although Maxwell has a positive history with children his tendency to be a little jumpy and nervous around new people means he would do best and feel most comfortable in a home without young children ⏳ Patience & Understanding — Maxwell may be cautious when meeting new people at first but given time, gentleness and consistency this boy will reward you with a loyalty and love that is truly beyond measure A Note About Maxwell: Maxwell did not choose this situation. He did not do anything wrong. He is simply a big hearted, goofy and loving boy who lost his family and is trying his very best to navigate a world that suddenly feels very uncertain and scary. He needs someone who sees past the nervousness and the shelter anxiety and recognizes what is truly underneath — A loyal, playful, sweet and absolutely wonderful companion who has so much love left to give and is desperately hoping someone will give him the chance to give it. Maxwell is longing for a safe, quiet and loving forever home where he can finally exhale, be himself completely and spend every single day being the goofy and devoted companion he was always meant to be. He has already been through so much. It is time for Maxwell's story to have the happy ending he so truly deserves. Could you be the one to give it to him?  ADOPTION FEE: $375.00 includes first 2 DAPP, bordetella, neuter, heartworm test, deworming, flea preventatives, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
Venus was rescued back in October. Her first week in rescue was 24/7 hospital care on IV liquids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Her diagnosis included several broken ribs (likely from humans kicking her). We have a strong inkling that Venus somehow escaped from the life of a bait dog for dog fighting which sadly is commonplace in our state. She was very thin, every bone in her body was protruding and she had very infected abcesses all over her body from bite wounds. She had heartworms and has completed the full treatment. She has made a complete recovery and is ready to be a part of a family, something she has never had before! She does not get along with other dogs. Cats aren’t her thing either, but she makes up for it with loyalty, affection, and the sweetest temperament. Venus is ready to brighten someone’s world. Could it be yours? She is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! Please message us if you are interested in adopting this little girl and we will send you an adoption application! We look forward to talking with you!
