Hi there! I’m Lil Potato — and yes, I’m just as cute and squishy as my name sounds. 🥔💛 I’m basically one big cuddle bug with the happiest smile you’ve ever seen. If you’re looking for a best friend who leans in close, soaks up affection, and melts right into your arms, I’m your guy. My tail never stops wagging when people are around — I just love being near my humans. I get along with other dogs but could also be an only dog!! Cats, though? They’re a little too exciting for me, so I’m hoping for a cat-free home where I can be my best self. I’m also a smart cookie and already know how to use the dog door like a pro! Whether it’s splashing around in the water (his absolute favorite!) or hitting the pavement, he’d make an amazing running partner. He’s already used to running multiple miles a day and does fantastic on a leash, making him a great fit for an active home. Lil Potato is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and current on all preventions—he’s ready to jump right into his new life! He also does great with kids and brings a playful, happy energy wherever he goes. If you’re ready for snuggles, smiles, and a whole lot of love, come meet me at The Madison Lifesaving Center. I can’t wait to wiggle my way into your heart! 🐾

🍀 Meet O’Beirne! 🍀 With a name like O’Beirne, you know this lad is bringing a little luck of the Irish wherever he goes! This pittie mix pup is the wiggliest, happiest boy you’ll ever meet. His tail doesn’t wag—it goes into full helicopter mode the second he sees a friend. O’Beirne loves to play, bounce, zoom, and repeat. Toys? Yes. Dog friends? Absolutely. A human lap? Clearly meant for launching himself directly into it with great enthusiasm. Personal space isn’t really his thing—he believes all laps are public seating. In true puppy fashion, O’Beirne is basically a baby wrecking ball with a heart of gold. He barrels through life with pure joy, a goofy grin, and just a touch of “oops…did I knock that over?” energy. If you’re looking for a pup who will fill your home with laughter, love, and a whole lot of wiggles, O’Beirne is ready to roll into your life like the adorable little chaos potato he is. 🍀💚 Apply to adopt O’Beirne today and let the shenanigans begin!

Story
Risky (A531335) is a gorgeous guy with a smile so big it could brighten anyone’s day. This handsome boy arrived as a stray, but you would never know it from the way he carries himself. With his tan coat and striking features, his breed is undeniable... We have a purebred good boy on our hands. Risky has been nothing but impressive since he arrived. He walks well on a leash even with distractions and already knows sit. He also appears to be house broken because the moment his paws touch grass, he does his business like a pro. He is sweet, gentle and loves being loved on. Risky was recently tested with a female dog and did great with her. They played well together and he respected her signals. He would be perfectly happy going to a home with a furry sister to keep him company. This boy is fun, affectionate and ready for a fresh start. If you have been searching for a young dog with wonderful manners and a huge grin, Risky is your guy.Risky is estimated to be around 7 months old and weighs 37 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.Ready to meet Risky? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.

Story
Hasley is approx., 4-5 years old, 60-65 pounds, a sweet and loving girl that was desperately in need of rescue and found herself on a euth list, so we took her in and went to the home that didn't work out. She is a vivacious and happy gal with a huge personality...a funny gal! She has a big blockhead we believe Lab/Bulldog mix (adorable). Soft fur with a Bulldog attitude. She’s a short and stocky, gal that is a pistol in her own right, but in a good way. She is spunky and loves to romp and play but quickly settles down and is easygoing inside. Halsey settles in well once she knows the routine and gets to know her people. Hasley LOVES people and does great around kids, but would rather be an only dog, but will get along with them and wants all the attention. She is food motivated easily corrected, and does listen well. Establishing a leadership relationship with Halsey is important or she could be all over the place and will test you then take over if you let her. She must have an experienced dog owner who knows how to talk to dogs and can handle a dominant personality that can be a little stubborn. She is physically strong so she needs someone that can handle her strength. Once a relationship role is established and she understands where her cues come from, she is a dreams of a dog! We LOVE her! She is the perfect dog for a single individual needing companionship or a family. She would be fine if she lived in a working family household, but like most would enjoy a human companion most days. She is very affectionate, and cuddly, loves lots of belly rubs especially, and is a good alert dog that would be protective of her family and home. She is mostly quiet but does let you know when something isn’t right. She rides well in a vehicle and is potty and crate-trained. She has already mastered sitting and learning more cues. She does pull slightly on a leash, but a good harness easily corrects that. She enjoys chasing a ball and enjoys eating treats. I think she’s a great gal who loves people. If you are interested in adopting this bundle of joy please complete the pre-adoption application on our website https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application. Hasley has been fully medically vetted; spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative and on prevention microchipped.
