Story
Meet Fridge – Your Lovable, Roadside Rescued Best Friend! Fridge isn’t just a name—it’s a whole vibe. This sweet, gentle Pitbull mix was found on the side of the road and has since been on a weight loss journey, proving that second chances (and fewer snacks) can lead to something amazing. Fridge is the neighborhood favorite, winning over kids and adults alike with his calm, friendly demeanor. He’s the perfect mix of laid-back and social, always happy to greet new friends with a wagging tail. In his foster home, he’s been a dream companion, living peacefully with two other dogs and a child. He’s neutral around other dogs, making him an easy addition to a home with existing pets. While Fridge loves a good nap and cuddle session, he’s also discovering his adventurous side! He’s developed a real love for walks and enjoys exploring the outdoors. His foster family says he’s getting more playful every day, even starting to show interest in toys—a big step for this previously overlooked pup. When he’s not out stretching his legs or testing out his growing toy collection, Fridge is a true cuddle bug, always ready for some cozy downtime with his humans. He’s looking for a forever home where he can continue his journey—with love, companionship, and plenty of time for walks and play. Could Fridge be the missing piece in your life? Story
Meet Rip! ♥️ This big ole baby is a 3 year old pit bull. Rip loves snuggling up on the couch with you while you’re watching tv. He loves his two foster brothers and loves playing outside with them. When his brothers aren’t giving him any attention he entertains his self with toys or finds a comfy spot to take a nap. Rip is a very mellow boy and mostly low maintenance. He enjoys spending most of his time snuggled up somewhere sleeping soundly. He loves everyone he meets and loves his person a little extra special. Rip does not like being alone very long as he does have a tad bit of separation anxiety. He is very food motivated… will do just about anything for a treat! Rip would be best in a home with no children or older children, as sometimes he forgets how big he actually is. Rip can't wait to meet his new family. 🎉

Story
Meet Kate – Your Future Best Friend! Mama Kate and her adorable baby boy, Brompton, wandered onto the property of a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, most likely after being abandoned. Despite her past, Kate has the most hilarious personality, which contrasts with her adorably serious, stoic expressions. This sweet girl is house-trained and crate-trained, but she’s so well-behaved that she can be trusted to roam freely at home. She’ll follow you around with her big, soulful eyes, silently begging for love and affection. Kate is heartworm positive, but she has already started treatment with antibiotics and preventative care. (Heart worm is not contagious as long as dogs stay on preventatives!) Her adoption fee has been lowered, so she can be adopted and begin her journey in her forever home while going through slow kill heart worm treatment provided by the rescue. She is great with dogs of all ages and sizes, loves kids, and welcomes all visitors with her gentle, loving nature. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will bring laughter and love into your home, Kate is your girl. Please consider giving Kate the cozy bed and forever home she deserves—you won’t regret it! Story
Meet Cassie Jo! 🐾 Cassie Jo is a sweet, silly, and playful pup with classic pitbull charm and energy. She’s currently thriving in a foster home with kids (ages 10 and 12), three other dogs, a cat, and even some chickens—so she’s getting lots of social experience! This fun-loving girl lives for playtime and would be happiest in an active home with other doggy playmates or humans who love being outside as much as she does. She’s a big fan of chew toys, running around in the yard, and investigating birds (chickens are very interesting!). Cassie Jo is crate trained and doing great with house training, already showing strong, consistent habits. She’s also incredibly affectionate with both dogs and humans—if you’re looking for a buddy who will keep you smiling, she’s your girl. Cassie Jo would thrive with: • An active family or person • Another dog or two to romp around with • A yard to play in or regular outdoor adventures • A home that’s ready for big love and big zoomies Ready to add a bundle of joy to your pack? Cassie Jo can’t wait to meet you! Story
🐾 Meet Jack! 🐾 Looking for a walking, running, or hiking companion? Or maybe just a best friend who will love you unconditionally? Jack is your guy! 🖤🐶 This 1-year-old Pittie mix is as sweet as they come. He loves everyone he meets, has a playful spirit, and is always ready for fun! His absolute favorite thing in the world? A BALL! 🎾 If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you entertained with his zoomies and puzzle-solving skills, Jack is the perfect match. ✨ Why Jack is Amazing: 🐾 Loves all people – He’s never met a stranger! 🐾 Dog-friendly – Currently living with big dogs and has done well with small pups in the past. 🐾 Smart & Trainable – Loves puzzle toys and is eager to learn! 🐾 Leash Ready– Walks well and takes corrections like a champ. 🐾 Adventure-Potential– Whether it’s hiking, running, or just exploring the backyard, Jack is always up for a good time. 🐾 Loyal & Loving – He’ll be your most devoted companion. 💡 What to Know About Jack’s Medical Condition (DEPOH) 💡 Jack has a genetic bleeding disorder called DEPOH, which means his blood clots break down faster than normal. But don’t worry—this is totally manageable! It doesn’t affect his daily life and only comes into play if he experiences a traumatic injury or needs surgery. Otherwise, he’s just like any other happy pup! Jack is looking for a forever family who will continue working his brain, keep him active, and give him all the love he deserves. 🏡🐾 If it could be with you, please let us know here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms. Story
🐾 Meet Honey – Sweet by Name, Sweeter by Nature 🐾 Age: ~1.5–2 years Breed Guess: St. Bernard / Boxer Mix Crate Trained • Dog-Friendly • Kid-Loving True to her name, Honey is as sweet as they come. She’s about 1.5 to 2 years old and still has that playful, puppy-at-heart charm. Honey is one of those rare dogs who never meets a stranger — she adores people, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and is especially gentle around kids. Earlier this year, Honey raised six healthy puppies and was the most loving, attentive mom. Now that her pups are grown, it’s her turn to be taken care of and find the forever home she deserves. Honey is: • Calm and quiet around the house • Always up for playtime with her dog friends • Crate trained and well-mannered indoors • A big fan of belly rubs, especially from little hands With her soft eyes and gentle soul, Honey brings warmth and calm wherever she goes. She’s the kind of dog who just fits— whether that’s joining you for a walk or snoozing peacefully by your side. Story
AMOS is looking for a forever home down south🖤 Amos needs a dog-savvy and patient family. He is learning to trust all over again! We aren’t sure about his history, but he is learning that the rest of his life will be full of love and comfort. Amos is an approximately 2-3 year old boxer/lab mix that is about 65 lbs. He is incredibly sweet and loves being loved on, and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. His trust is getting better with his foster family, but still is uncomfortable around strangers. We know with the lots of love and affection, he will trust his forever family fully! 🏡 Amos came to his foster family badly injured and still has big scars. We believe that he was tethered by a back leg and burned. He has regrown the hair in his back but not his hip and back leg but it just shows his resilience through what he’s experienced. He has the best underbite, too! 🐶 Amos is great with other dogs and cats. He would be great with kids as long as the family understands it will take a while for him to adjust. His foster mom says he is very clumsy though, so may accidentally step on a young kid. 😅 He loves to play with other dogs and gets confidence from them so another young playful dog is a must. He also loves to play with people & soft plush toys 🧸 He does surprisingly well in the car and loves walks even though they scare him a little bit but he’s gaining confidence daily! He is very smart and has good manners, and is Crate trained and potty trained. If you are patient and looking for a best friend for life, please apply for Amos!
