Have you ever met a person who just exudes joy at all times? Well FREYA is the dog version of that human. She is happiness personified. Being with her, you can’t help but feel her bliss and smile. She herself always has a smile on her face and loves to soak up attention from everyone she meets. Whether she’s outside playing or inside lounging on the couch, she loves to be where the people are. She’s doing wonderful in her current foster home with her two doggy foster brothers, a 95 lb cane corso mix and a 75 lb lab. She loves to cuddle with them as well as play with them in the backyard. She also has a cat foster brother who she gets along great with and even hangs out with him on the bed when he’s in the mood for cuddles. FREYA also loves to go on car rides and just take everything in. She would love to be your sidekick for every adventure that comes your way. She likes to talk to you and let you know what she’s thinking! Her little “ooowoo’s” are absolutely precious! She tends to talk to strangers as well , but it’s just her saying “Hello!”. She is crate trained and is used to being in her crate while her foster parent is gone. She is truly a one of a kind with a heart of gold. She’s an affectionate, fun loving, loyal girl just waiting for her new forever family to love. Her $540 adoption fee covers her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. This adorable girl is OLIVIA! She is a sweet, sweet girl who can be a little shy when you first meet her. However watching her personality bloom as she becomes comfortable with her new surroundings is incredibly rewarding. OLIVIA is perfectly content to spend a lazy day on her dog bed watching a movie with her person, or, if you’re in the mood for some exercise, OLIVIA is there and ready. She absolutely loves going for walks and is learning how to walk well on a leash. OLIVIA is absolutely fabulous with other dogs. She is exponentially happier and more confident with canine companionship, so she is only available to forever families who have at least one other resident dog. She will fill your heart with joy and your life with happy memories for many years to come. Story
Our Yugi is a shy boy, who takes a few minutes to warm up, but then he becomes an exuberant blast of fresh air, and one of those rare rescue dogs who can give an active family their Disney moment. He is a glorious Blue Nose Pittie boy who came to us recently from an overcrowded NYCACC, where he quickly became a statistic: just one more homeless Bully fated for the inevitable. Just four years old, Yugi was facing euthansia. When we saw his shelter picture we were moved to tears. He spent some time as a city stray, and when the Animal Control Officer brought him to the shelter, he was emaciated and in rough shape. He came to us for nutritional rehabilitation, and treatment of an aggressive upper respiratory infection. Yugi snapped back easily and has blossomed in the Connecticut fresh air.  Yugi could join an active adult home, with folks who have the time to focus on his ongoing obedience training. He would be a good addition to a multi-dog home, with other energetic pups, provided attention is paid to maintaining calm and reinforcing good behavior. Cats are usually a dicey combination with any Terrier, and Yugi might chase them beyond their comfort level. Yugi has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He is in good health and at a healthy weight, which should be maintained at about 65 to 70 pounds. Yugi has been neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations and health screenings.  If you are interested in Yugi, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Meet House Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/GEtBfbJsxxztyycP7 ---------------- House is not local yet, he can travel when there is a committed foster or adopter. An 80 year old man rescued their mom - a 22 lb terrier mix - from the streets. Shortly after he realized she was pregnant! She had these four precious pups and they are the sweetest!! Mom will stay with her rescuer and ARNE is having her spayed for him ?? Dad is believed to be a pit mix in the area. House, Chase, Wilson and Lisa are about 11 weeks old and super loving. We all know black pups are overlooked but don’t sleep on these guys- they are going to be great medium sized dogs! Well socialized with other dogs of all ages and sizes, kid friendly and very people oriented, these will make the best pets!!! Three boys and one girl. - Approx 11 weeks old - up to date on age appropriate shots, heartworm and flea prevention - kennel trained - love other dogs and people - smart and doing well on house training - love toys and snuggles. ---------------- Adoption fee of $600 includes a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit. - OR- Adoption fee of $750 includes a voucher for spay/neuter at Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic (located in Warwick RI) ---------------- **ADDITIONAL INFO YOU SHOULD KNOW** - Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. - There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. - We do our best to describe and place based on personality not breed label. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out and one of our adoption volunteers will get back to you ASAP. Please be patient, we are all volunteers. ---------------- For More information on MA Quarantine Regulations & MA Adoption visit: https://arne-ri.org/ma-adoption-information/
