Story
Since Lincoln's arrival, he has been a gentleman and enjoys showing off all the tricks he can do! Lincoln knows how to sit, lay down, give paw and speak. He is strong on a leash, but the help of a harness makes walking much easier. Lincoln enjoys playing with toys and getting attention. Lincoln also needs to be the only pet. While here at the shelter, Lincoln has meet a couple of other dogs and does not like them. Lincoln has a hard time focusing when they are around and needs a home where he will not be in a busy neighborhood full of them. He is happy when meeting new people and cannot wait to be a part of a family again. As for kids, Lincoln is hoping to find a household with older kids that can participate in taking him for daily walks. Otherwise, an adult home would suit him just fine. Story
Handsome Hershey is a very shy, kind and wonderful boy! He appreciates gentle handling, and is looking for an adopter with previous experience owning a dog, who can help boost his confidence. This gentle soul is worth getting to know. Since arriving at the shelter Hershey is learning to walk on leash and enjoys playing with other gentle dogs and spending time with volunteers. Hershey may do well in a home with other calm dogs, who can help him adjust to his new surroundings but they would have to meet first. Treats and toys are just one way to this boy's heart. Having a reserved disposition, this sweet boy is looking for a quiet, patient home. If there are to be children in the home, they should be older teens who have been around dogs before. Story
Snuggly and silly, Wilson is a real pup at heart. At seven and a half years old Wilson still enjoys chasing after squeaky toys and making you laugh. Putting a smile on your face is Wilson's top priority. Watching him stretch out frog leg style, roll on his back in his dog bed or race full speed in the yard will definitely brighten your day. Wilson has a smile that is contagious. We first met Wilson when he was just six months old. He has enjoyed family life and through no fault of his own finds himself at the shelter once again. He is with old friends here but nothing beats a family of his own. Wilson has always had an enthusiastic zest for life mixed with a tentative yet playful approach to unfamiliar dogs and people. As he has grown up Wilson's enjoyment for playing with other dogs has diminished and he is looking for a home without other animals. In his younger years Wilson also had a tendency to use his mouth during play when over excited. He displays this behavior less now and prefers to give big sloppy kisses. Another behavior that Wilson has retained from his younger years is his ability to share his thoughts with you through facial expressions. When he is in an unfamiliar or uncomfortable situation, Wilson will look to those he knows well, close his mouth, pull his ears back, widen his eyes and raise one eyebrow at a time looking to a familiar face for direction. As you can see, Wilson has many layers to his personality. Intelligent, playful and shy makes this boy truly one of a kind. His love and devotion to those who know him well is the best reward anyone could offer. Wilson is looking for a home without young children. He is looking forward to finding a home with someone that will continue to take him on the daily walks that he has grown to love here at the shelter. On nice sunny cool days, he likes to lay in the grass in a quiet spot and sniff at the air. Wilson really knows how to live in the moment and can transition from outdoor adventure sidekick to indoor couch potato in an instant. All of our dogs are available by appointment. Please contact dogs@worcesterarl.org to find out more about Wilson. You may also click the link below to fill out an inquiry form. Do you enjoy the outdoors and fresh air? How about gardening? I do too! Hi, my name is Nissa. Black eyed Susan flowers are my favorite. Although I know that I am really the star of this photo shoot, I really enjoy showing off the latest blossoms in my garden. You may be able to see some of the flowers that I planted behind me in the photo. A comfortable Adirondack chair is a must, as well as a nice shady spot to relax in it. A cold bowl of water, some seeds, a shovel and most of all your company is my ideal day. My friends at the shelter describe me as a lovely young girl looking for a quiet home. I quickly won the hearts of staff as I emerged from my shell after the confusion of being separated from my family. The ladies at the shelter soon found out that I love to go for walks! I am working on my leash walking skills and I catch on quickly. Sometimes I still pull but that is only because I am so eager to get out there and explore. I can still be shy when meeting new people, but I am super sweet. If you give me a chance you will soon see my playful side shine through. I have been working on crate training as well and have had the amazing opportunity to keep staff company in the office and even stay overnight. Due to my shy nature and no previous experience living with young children, staff is recommending a home with teens or adults for me. I have met a few dogs here at the shelter. I tend to enjoy quiet walks with the more laid back dogs, and feel that a home where I can be the only dog may be best for me. Please click the link below to fill out a visitation request form. Story
Dennis is a lovely playful boy. He is looking for a home with active people who enjoys long walks or hikes in the woods and some downtime on the couch. Dennis would love a quieter home as an only dog, and if there are kids in the home they should be teens and up. Dennis is shy with new people, and does not like to petted immediately by people he does not consider family. Dennis will sit for a treat, loves to go for walks, is housetrained and is a relatively quiet boy. Hey there, I'm Dexter! I'm a senior, but don't let that fool you. I've got the energy of a puppy, and a heart full of love. I'm playful, friendly, and a bit of a goofball. I love to make everyone laugh with my funny antics and I'm always up for a good cuddle. I'm on a special mission to find a forever home where I can be the only dog. While I enjoy play dates and walks with my canine buddies, I prefer to be the center of attention at home! I may be an older gentleman, and I hope you can see past any medical needs us older men require and give me a place to call home. All I need is a comfy bed, some toys, and people to spend my days with! I also love going for hikes and then take a ride to grab a coffee for you and of course a munchkin for me! I promise to fill your life with laughter, love!

Meet Farley! He is about 2 years old, 55 lbs, and he may have some Pit Bull and Husky in his mix! In his foster home, he is doing great with his house-training, crate-training and leash-walking. He could go to a home with kids 8+ and other dogs. No cats please! His foster say, "Farley is a sweet goofball who loves to help make dinner or prepare his frozen treat toys by sampling ingredients and licking spoons. He is very food motivated, likes learning new things, and is focused and enthusiastic while training. He wants to be near his people, and is happy to flop in his bed with a toy or on a sofa with his person. Farley has some higher energy and likes physical and mental exercise - walking on a trail and jumping up on all his favorite rocks, playing with a treat puzzle, or learning beginning agility like low jumps. He has learned things like sit, down, go to your mat, hop-up, and a release cue (free), and has also enjoyed some basic scentwork games. Farley will be a wonderful, special buddy for someone who can help him feel safe and loved."He is available for adoption Vermont. Contact greatbearvt@icloud.com- Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, financial, and emotional responsibilities of a puppy/dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- Puppies/dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fee can be found at browndogcoalition.com

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PittieLove Rescue, Inc. a 501c3 orgainization is an all-volunteer, foster home based rescue. Adoption Fee: $450 Our information is current if you are interested please fill out an adoption form here http://www.pittieloverescue.org/adoption-application It is the easiest way to start the communication and adoption process. Meet Maggie! This 2-year old house panther came to us from our friends at a local animal shelter after being found as a stray. We’re shaking our heads as to how this playful and snuggly midnight princess didn’t have a home. Maggie can be a little shy at first, but is a friendly and active youngster who loves all dog toys, but reallllly loves squeaky toys (though she destroys them with gusto!). This shady lady, with the BEST espresso coat, wags and wiggles when she meets new people, but isn’t a fan of loud city noises. One of her favorite pastimes is snuggling on the couch, or in bed…she just wants to be close to her human all the time and basically sits on top of her foster mom at any opportunity.   Maggie loves the water and will submerge her whole body into it (but hasn’t actually swam). She’s great in the car and either looks out the window or lays down in the backseat. She’s a loving and velvety raven pooch who just needs a home to call her own! Maggie is basically a big puppy and is working on some basic manners like jumping and counter surfer. But is making strides in a short time and would just need a forever family who will continue to work on the basics. She is currently in a foster home in Boston and we have discovered the city has stressed her out, so she’s looking for a quiet place to settle. And while she did great on her dog tests, she has gotten a bit more stressed out by some dogs in the city. Whether that’s due to the stress of city living or is just who she is remains to be seen. Because of this, were looking to place her as an only dog, but she has so much love to give, she’s all you need! Due to her size and a lack of history, older kids would be best for this smoky gal. Adoption Fee: $450 Our information is current if you are interested please fill out an adoption form here http://www.pittieloverescue.org/adoption-application It is the easiest way to start the communication and adoption process.   Meet Jojo! This lil’ tater wedge came to us from our friends at local animal control after he was found with 6 other dogs in a UHaul back in January. PittieLove Rescue placed 2 other dogs from this situation last winter (Banana and Eddie), but this poor guy has been in a kennel for the better part of this year waiting for his chance. Jojo is a compact 50-lbs and looks like a baby russet potato. He has just the right amount of seasoning…a little spice kickin’ with his sweet personality.   Jojo is outgoing and needy all at the same time! He is a pro at making sure he maintains physical contact by touching or leaning into his human throughout the day and loves to be included in E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.! This plus-size and flavorful French Fry loves running on a long line in open spaces, dismantling stuffy toys with gusto, lick mats and enrichment toys, going on sniffaris, and every treat he’s ever been offered, ever.   Jojo is an active and friendly and super happy guy who gets excited anytime any person comes through the door. And when Jojo gets excited, he snorts like a piglet. Oh, and did we mention he loves to cuddle? When he settles, Jojo has a cute snore to let you know just how relaxed he’s actually feeling. He reminds us of Scrappy Doo with those spectacular ears and is a perfect pint-sized pup…a really happy and waggy boy who lives his life to love people. Jojo settles nicely while his foster parents WFH, laying on his dog bed or in his crate or on the couch chillin’ like Bob Dylan. But if they’re on the move, he follows them wherever they go to make sure he doesn’t miss out on anything important. He loves, loves, loves to sniff around, and loves it when his foster family hides treats so he can sniff them out.   We’re unsure that Jojo has ever lived in a home in the traditional sense, but he sure is figuring it out fast! He gets scared by loud sounds like smoke detector beeping or sirens outside and will shake and whine. He alternates his days between sleeping and being alert and hasn’t experienced a lot of middle ground, but we think that will come with settling more and more into family life. We think Jojo’s perfect home would have a little space to run around and a family that will take time to patiently teach him all that life has to offer as he continues to acclimate to being part of a family. Jojo is well on his way to learning what a real home feels like with his wonderful foster family, but he will need even more time and space to really decompress surrounded by love and safety. Jojo really likes other dogs, but can get super excited around canine friends and can come on a bit strong for most other pups, something that would require management in a home. And he has definitely said no thanks to kitties and other small critters. Because of this, we feel Jojo would thrive as the only pet in a situation where he could relax and enjoy being the center of attention, and scheduling playdates with equally matched dogs. Due to his age and lack of history, older kids would be best for this perfect baked potato.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.www.pittieloverescue.org Please consider a donation so that we may continue the important work we do. Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! -- If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $250. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet happy, playful and goofy Marshmallow! This 46 lb. bulldog boy is super affectionate, loves to meet people, play with toys and go on adventures. Marshmallow has been down a rough road but has kept up an amazing, silly personality. Marshmallow's owner was unable to care for him, and he arrived at WARL with a significant skin infection that was painful and required lots of veterinary care, sutures, and daily treatments. It was a great day for staff and volunteers when his fur started growing back and he was clearly recovering. Words can't really describe how exceptional his resilient and kind heart shines through. Marshmallow was a gem throughout his skin care routine, and actually looked forward to being cleaned daily with medical wipes, because he knew there were some nice treats waiting for him after each step. Marshmallow is admittedly working on a humping issue, so he may be able to live with another dog, but they would have to meet first as he comes on a bit strong! Same with kids, he needs just the right energy mix. An important thing to know about this pup is that he will require several veterinary visits per year to keep current on his prescribed allergy medication. English Bulldogs have complex medical needs, and his new home has to be able to ensure that he will be able to get the continued care that he needs. That is super important for him to continue, and his new home must be able to support him with this care. Marshmallow will pay it back with lots of affection, and plenty of happy snorting bulldog noises! If you think Marshmallow would be a good fit for your home, please head to our actual website worcesterarl.org and click on his picture to fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form listed below to request a meet with him. That is the first step! All adoptions are by appointment, thank you.
