Boss is a great dog! We have 3 small kids and our busy schedule does not allow for us to spend time with him. He spends most of his days in the crate while we are gone. He has alot of energy and requires some open space and lots of belly rubs. Must be an indoor Dog. That's what he has known all his life.

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Frankie (River) Breed: Pitbull Terrier Sex: Male Approx. DOB: 1/7/2021 Weight: 70 lbs Location: Buford, Ga RESCUING FRANKIE Frankie and another dog were found tied up in a park and were taken to animal control. The other pup was adopted, but Frankie stayed. The shelters are full and unable to take pets in anymore while people are just dumping pets on the street. We had a foster step up to rescue Frankie and his FREEDOM RIDE was on 1/7/23. ABOUT FRANKIE Frankie is doing so well in his foster home! He is an intelligent boy, very food-motivated and wants to please his people. He is housebroken and crate trained but is still working on not pulling while walking on a leash. He is not suitable for a home with cats and is working on some reactivity with other dogs. He LOVES his crate, often hiding his treats in there for later. He is very submissive toward people but can be more dominant around other dogs. He is a medium-energy guy, getting some zoomies but mostly wanting to chill on the couch with this people. Some of Frankie's favorite activities include looking out the window bird watching, snuggling, playing with his toys, and eating (of course)! He's a big fan of a filled Kong toy or bone to chew on, but his favorite toys are his stuffies, especially his dragon, which he carries around everywhere. Frankie's foster mom says, "Frankie would love someone that is home a lot. He loves to be around his humans, and sleeps with them at night. He’s so smart, and eager to please so it would be great if he had someone willing to play games with him, and continue training him. Frankie would love a home with adults and older children. No other pets, besides maybe a fish. He wants to be the center of your whole world and just love you. He is such an amazing boy, and just needs someone who will be patient with his anxiety. Fantastic Frankie is such a great boy! He will keep you laughing, and in awe over how he takes such great care of his stuffed dragon, A.K.A. his bestie. He is very loyal and loves big. He also likes to be loved big! He enjoys cuddling on the couch, and going for walks. He’s never met a stranger, and loves when new human friends come to his house! ADOPTING FRANKIE Frankie is neutered, updated on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. He is on monthly preventative. He is eating premium grain-free dry dog food. His adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting Frankie or possibly adopting him, please complete an adoption application at:  https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application.  If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org.www.savingpitbulls.orgNovember 4, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Meet Chippa!! This sweet girl was brought into Kay Animal Hospital with a broken leg from being hit by a car. Upon examination, she was also heartworm positive and not spayed. She had surgery to fix her leg, was spayed and went through heartworm treatment. She's good to go and eager for her forever family. She's still at Kay Animal Hospital and has been there a while so we are posting her as a courtesy in hopes of finding her a forever home. She's approximately 6-7 years of age, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative but is on daily heart medication (not expensive but required 2 times a day). She's submissive, low energy, loves people and children. She does well with other dogs but no cats please. She would be best in a home with minimal stairs but can manage fairly well if necessary. She is not food aggressive, loves to go for walks (great on and off leash), not a jumper but would love to play in a fenced in yard. She's a real snuggle bug, loves big fluffy beds and she loves squeaky toys. She absolutely loves children so the perfect home for her would be with a family with kids. Her adoption fee is $200 Applications will be forwarded to Kay Animal Hospital for consderation.    November 4, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Name: Tucker Approx. Age: 1 year 9 months Breed: Pitbull Mix Sex: Male Location: Dallas, Ga   RESCUING TUCKER Tucker was part of a 10-size litter that was rescued on 5/16/22. We got a call from a lady who found a very pregnant mama dog. The day after this lady found the dog, she had her pups. The lady contacted every rescue to help, and the pound was going to euthanize if the lady took mama and the babies there, so we stepped up. ABOUT TUCKER Tucker is a striking and strong-willed boy, with the correct leadership he can and will be a wonderful companion.  Tucker is housebroken and is up to date on all of his shots and medical work.  He is muzzle and leash trained and knows many commands.  He is also crate trained.  Tucker's ideal home would be where he was the only dog and will need a strong leader from his new family.  He responds best to firm but calm authority.  His current foster believes that he will be the best companion to the right person or home, someone that has time to work on his training often and give him the activity he needs before letting him curl up on the couch and snuggle with you at the end of the day. ADOPTING TUCKER Tucker is current on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. He is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. He is eating Nutrisource Grain Free Lamb & Pea dry dog food. His adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting Tucker to see if she is a good fit for your family, please complete an online adoption application at https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adopt-a-bulls. Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: August 16, 2016 Size:  45 lbs Location:  Dallas, GA ABOUT CHIPPER Chipper is 7 years old and he is such a cool dog and absolutely beautiful!  Chipper is a super smart and happy boy.  He is medium energy, loves a good zoomie in the yard and loves a good couch snuggle fest. His perfect home would be with a family that is pitbull savvy and has a 6ft privacy fenced yard and also leash walks as Chipper enjoys getting out and about. Chipper would do best as an only dog. Chipper has been tested with children and has done fantastic with children ages 10+.  The kids were able to play with him, walk him, hang out inside playing and enjoy time on the swingset together.  Chipper listens well and falls into a structured routine quickly.  Chipper does not do well with cats.  He walks well on a leash and once he gets into a routine should do fine.  He is housebroken, crate-trained and loves riding in the car.  We are all hoping that someone out there can give this boy a chance to find the perfect family that can make him the center of their world.  He has a lot of love to give and is just the sweetest boy.  We have a volunteer that takes him to their home for the day and he does great and just lounges on the couch and chews bones.  He is really a great dog that yearns for the day to have a family again. Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-Bull Name:  Nellie Breed: Pitbull DOB:  4/4/2020 Sex:  Female Weight:  39 Pounds Location:  Acworth, GA Rescuing Nellie... During the week of 3/21/22 this sweet girl was picked up as a stray and ended up at Henry County Animal. The shelter named her Bonnie originally. When she came in she had a huge distended belly and we were told that she was pregnant and needed immediate rescue. She was about 50 pounds. After seeing our vet it was determined that she was not pregnant and was actually in heart failure and was heartworm positive. Her chest was full of fluid which was making it difficult for her to breathe. Our vet drained fluid from her chest and her breathing was very labored so she spent a week at UGA in an oxygen chamber to get her heart evaluated and medications in order. About Nellie... Nellie is the epitome of a pitbull - perfect size at 39 pounds, affectionate, professional clinger, loyal, laid back, resilient, and just wants to be with her people. Her temperament is more submissive than dominant and she is a go-with-the-flow kind of gal. This girl has gone through some serious medical battles in her short life and her tail hasn't stopped wagging! Since being in her foster home, she has already undergone heartworm treatment and has been on consistent heart medications. Her heart condition is much better, but will still get a little winded when she over-exerts herself. Nellie still loves her daily walks every day and some play time! She has gone from multiple medications multiple times a day to only one medication twice daily. She does well with all dogs, children, and cats! Nellie is a quiet girl and is not a big barker. She enjoys sniffing around the yard, likes her snuffle mat to search out kibble, and enjoys a soft plush toy to snuggle with. Nellie rides great in the car too! Nellie is not a picky eater and is treat-motivated so training her should be fairly easy. She is the perfect dog for a family that wants a furry companion that will wiggle her way into your heart while showering you with lots of snuggles and kisses. It's going to take a special family for her. A family that has the time and structure to continue her medications and condition. A family that is OK with giving a little extra TLC to a sweet girl that deserves a 2nd chance with a family that truly loves her. Nellie doesn't let her heart condition stop her so don't let it stop you from falling in love with her. Adopting Nellie... Nellie will be spayed soon. She is current on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and is undergoing heartworm treatment. If you are interested in learning more about Nellie, meeting her, and possibly adopting her please complete an adoption application at: https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application/  Nellie's adoption fee is $300.00.   www.savingpitbulls.orgNovember 4, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullCant Adopt? Apply to Foster Kali Today!Breed: Pit Bull Gender: Female Estimated Date of Birth: May 23, 2012 Size:  50lbs Location:  Dallas, GA RESCUING KALI In June 2012, three puppies were dumped at Animal Control. They were only a few days old and without a mom so their chances of survival were slim. The next day, Animal Control brought in a lactating female. Although she may or may not have been the real mom, she stepped up to the challenge. The mom and AC Staff did everything they could, but two pups died. The wonderful people at Animal Control reached out to us and agreed to hold the mom and the surviving female puppy for a few weeks until we could pick them up. The mom was treated for heartworms. The puppy, Kali, was a healthy girl. Once she was ready to leave her mom, we felt confident that Kali would be on to a loving home, but we were wrong.  ABOUT KALI Kali has been with the Forlorn family her entire life of 11 years and counting. Her dream and our dream for her is to spend her remaining years in a home of her own. Why hasn't Kali been adopted? It could not be because of her personality because she is the happiest dog on the planet!  Kali has a zest for life and she loves toys! She'll zoom around with any toy you give her. She is completely happy to run around with a ball in her mouth all afternoon. Kali is a bundle of fun-loving energy that would enjoy any activity as long as she is with her people. She would be a fantastic running or hiking partner. She would even just be happy to chase the ball around the yard for you. Seriously, this girl could play fetch for days. Playing fetch with a Chuck-It would be a dream for her. Due to Kali being housed in the rescue her entire life, she has never been around children. Therefore, a home without children would be ideal. She has not been around cats or other dogs either, so in order for her to succeed in a home she needs to be an only four-legged child. She is crate and house-trained.  Photo Album of Kali: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.531860010205503.1073741859.162554320469409&type=1&l=eff6e419eb Our adoption fee is $300. All dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm prevention, and are fed top-of-the-line grain-free food.www.savingpitbulls.orgNovember 4, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Baby (fka Baby Shark) Breed: Pitbull Terrier Location: Acworth, Ga   RESCUING BABY Baby was just seven weeks old when she was seized in a dog fighting bust. The feds stepped in and housed all the dogs from the case. Once the dogs were released from custody, they sent her back to us where we had a foster home waiting. Baby's legs were deformed so we got her the best medical care right away. Today, she has been rehabilitated and is ready to find her forever home! ABOUT BABY Baby is a petite girl with the biggest smile and goofy personality! She has been working hard with our trainer Frank and Be Still Dog Training to learn how to be the best girl. Baby loves people, playing, and toys. She can do well with other MALE dogs with strong leadership but would do great as an only dog too. She walks great on the leash, has excellent manners, is housebroken, and crate trained. This beautiful girl is looking for a family with a confident owner who can continue with all of the things she has learned in training. Could you be the family for her? ADOPTING BABY Baby is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. She is on monthly preventative. She is eating high-quality grain-free dry dog food. Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Layla Approx. Age: 8 years Breed: Pitbull Mix Sex: Female Location: Stone Mountain, GA RESCUING LAYLA Layla was found, alone in a crate with a letter attached. The letter read “Hello, my name is Layla. I am 8 years old, and my owner lost his home. I was loved for 8 years. He is truly sorry to do this to me. He tried no kill shelters, but no one would take me. I am a good girl that prefers male dogs over females. I’m laid back. Please don’t have me killed.” She is on to a better life after her FREEDOM RIDE on 4/4/22. ABOUT LAYLA Layla is just the sweetest! She seems to be a laid-back girl- a total couch potato. She is already housebroken, and crate trained. Layla is a rockstar around dogs and kids, but would enjoy a house better without cats. She walks well on a leash and is used to leash walking for potty breaks but will pull to get back inside on her couch.  She seems to be doing well with her foster siblings. She is food motivated (almost too much as she easily packs on the pounds) and loves to please her owners! Layla loves to chew on bones and lay on comfy beds, but her favorite is the couch of course.  She does fine in a crate as long as she has a comfy spot.  She is a true velcro dog too.  She would love a low-key family and does not need a lot of exercise; she just wants affection! Is that your family who can give her the affection and love that she needs? ADOPTING LAYLA Layla is spayed, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. She is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. She is eating premium grain-free dry dog food. Her adoption fee is $300.
