Story
Molly is a 1 yr old female who has a lot of energy and needs a lot of playtime and exercise. She is very sweet dog and loves people after she gets to know you. She can be alittle skittish around strangers and new dogs. She is a very healthy dog and doesn’t have any medical history that I know of. She was a pup from a litter we had and we tried to find a home and kept failing so we decided to keep her. Unfortunately our older dogs are not getting along with her and there has been some tension and fights with another older dog that she lives with. So we think it’s for the best and her safety to rehome her.

Story
Meet Coco! Coco is one of our longest residents at the shelter and is looking for a special home to help teach her that the world is not so scary. We are looking for a very structured foster or adoptive home for Coco due to some of the behaviors we have seen here in the shelter. Coco is very excitable and has a hard time calming herself down. When she is kept to a routine, less of these behaviors appear. Staff has been working with Coco to learn that calm behavior equals more attention and rewards! All interactions with Coco need to be done in a calm manner and stop if Coco starts getting overstimulated. This girl will need to go into an adult-only home, and without other animals. She would do best in a home where someone can dedicate time long-term to her training. We are unsure of how Coco was treated in her past, but we can only imagine it was not kindly. She is quick to react to situations or people that she finds uncomfortable or scary and can take multiple meetings to warm up to new people. Due to this, we are suggesting only positive training in her future. Coco is very treat motivated and enjoys snuffle mats and they have worked as great training tools for her! Coco has stolen the hearts of many staff and we would love to see her thrive in a home. The staff who works with her has seen how sweet Coco can be and how hard she has worked to be her best and not to mention that big smile! We are able to see the playful, goofy side of this pup and want her to find a home where she is comfortable enough to show that to someone else! If you are potentially interested in fostering or adopting Coco, please speak to staff to further discuss her behaviors and what placement we are seeking for her. Coco is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Availability date: 10/17/2022

Story
My name is Bella...so don't wear it out. I'm an 8-month-old female Pit Bull Terrier mix, so that still makes me a babe in the woods. I am told I'm a sweet girl, and who am I to argue with the truth. I apparently weigh about 32 lbs., and I'm a girl in good shape. I'm a workout warrior and yeah..I have a lot of puppy energy, and I know you wouldn't want me any other way. I came from Texas and it was a high kill shelter. I have no idea what I did to get put on death row. I'm not a hardened criminal at all but a sweet and lovable pit bull mix. I'm okay with other dog. This could be tricky as those litterbox loiterers. Always seem like nothing but trouble. I can be tested but their nine lives could be in jeopardy. I'm good with kids, and since I have a lot of energy this could be exciting. I'm crate trained and I guess I had practice, since having been in a high kill shelter . Adults should find me appealing as I have a lot of love to give. I have all of my shots and they're up to date. Thanks for checking in on me at The Lucky Legacy Rescue

Story
My name is Loki and I'm a pit mix but I don't remember my parents since they didn't leave a forwarding address. I also look like a Shepherd...but not in the biblical sense. I'm 3 yrs. old and an energetic boy and full of life. Couch potatoes would have to step up their game with me. I would probably need a more experienced owner...not an on the job training rookie. People in the know tell me I can be stubborn and need boundaries...but I do walk on a leash, not well..as I'm a leash puller. Cut me some slack here since I'm a dog, I'm visual and my smelling senses are about a million times greater than yours. I also like playing tug of war with my leash. Now if you value your shoulder socket you might want to hit the gym first. It all comes down to me needing someone to show me the ropes (just not pulling them) and spending time with me to help me be the best dog I can be. I'm housebroken and crate trained and obviously a quick learner even though I don't know what my actual IQ is. I do get along with other dogs but just not in the kitchen. I don't share too well with others when it comes to food. I'm what they call food aggressive..so another dog in the house with me is probably a no go. Small kids would also be a problem. I wouldn't want my ears pulled and a cookie taken right from under my nose. I do good with older children and adults, plus I am a loving boy in addition. I would have to be cat tested first, and since they already claim to have nine lives, I might have to put that to the test. I'm a good boy who deserves a chance and hope to get it with you. Hey..I'm a dog and I need a certain amount of training but that would be with any dog.

Story
Aries was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer keep him due to landlord issues. He is around a year old and weighs 53 pounds. Aries needed some time to adjust to shelter life but has come out of his shell and enjoys treats and going on walks! He is a shy at first with new people, but treats are the key to his heart! Aires knows sit but will need some work on other commands. He is a sweet guy that would love to have a second chance at finding a loving forever home! Aries has lived with children but may be too much for small children so an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Aries has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application Is your shadow letting you down? Is it proving to be just a fair weather friend? Are you looking for a new shadow? Well look no further! Meet Miss Bea, aka Meatball. She will happily take the place of your shadow (even on those rainy, gloomy days). She’ll never let you down! Likes: Miss Bea loves food, her people and belly and rump rubs. Pretty much any attention you give Miss Bea, she eats right up. Dislikes: According to Miss Bea, all vacuum cleaners need to die. Otherwise, Miss Bea complains about nothing. She has yet to meet a stranger (well, maybe the vet is just a teensy bit suspicious). Personality: Miss Bea is all wiggles and kisses. Temperament: Happy, happy, happy! Miss Bea is fine with brushing, though she can be wiggly happy during her spa sessions. She is also fine with having her nails done. Energy level: Even with her confirmation issues, Miss Bea is one energetic young lady…if only all that energy could be harnessed, dogs like Miss Bea could very well be the answer to the energy crisis! Favorite activities: Being with her people; eating; sleeping; snoring; chewing safe bones; stuffed and squeaky toys will be met with a swift death. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Miss Bea has a high prey drive and, therefore, would not do well with cats or other small, non-canine critters. She has not yet been tested around young children, however, due to her enthusiasm and mouthiness, she would probably do best with teenagers.  Miss Bea does quite well with other dogs both male and female, big and small. However, she can initially come on a bit strong (think freight train). She would do best in a home with another dog that can keep up with her exuberance. Not good with: (Cats? Dogs? Strangers? Men? Kids?) - Cats and other small critters (she thought the chickens would make for fun, chaseable, squeaky toys). Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes. Bribe her with a piece of cheese and she will go right in and settle down quickly. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Yes Walks well on a leash? Miss Bea pulls a little but listens well and is very eager to please. Challenges: Dyson vacuums have nothing on Miss Bea! She will need a slow feeder bowl (the slower the better). Miss Bea is working on her mouthiness; taking treats gently; sharing toys; leash manners and jumping up. Any Medical issues? Miss Bea will be having an ortho consult to address her confirmation issues (which don’t slow her down or seem to affect her running and playing). She is currently receiving a daily Cosequin pill to help her joints stay as healthy as possible.  What would be the best kind of home? One with another doggie friend that matches her energy to play and cuddle with. Though she does well in her crate, someone who works from home would be an added bonus as Miss Bea adores her people. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include, but are not limited to: pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed.
