Story
Hey, my name is Wallace ! I'm a sweet boy looking for my furever home. Don't let my big size fool you, I am a big love bug looking for some affection. I love to be the center of attention and love people in general. I would need an adult only home. I am young and full of life so I would hope my potential adopters are up for an active lifestyle! If you think your home has a spot for a big pup with a big heart please come down to the shelter and meet me! Wallace is a one year old pit who was brought to ARC when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Any potential canine siblings would require a meet and greet at our shelter. (a home without cats, would be best due to his size and energy). Wallace is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If interested in meeting Wallace, Fill out a pre-approval on our website: www.nokillarc.org and e-mail Tori at Tori@nokillarc.org

Story
Meet Otto Otto is an estimated, 2 year old lab/pit mix who has been with us for nearly 6 months by no fault of his own. Otto is so friendly, loving, and does really well with children keeping in mind his size and energy. Sometimes we think he needs to remember to turn his brain on... but once he's focused, he's super smart (and treat motivated). He also LOVES making friends with the other dogs in our separated play yards, but he would likely need to learn proper manners with a canine sibling (a meet and greet is required at our shelter). Otto gave us a big health scare through the winter, but he's finally getting back up to his proper weight of 90+ pounds and is ready to find his perfect home to continue thriving! ??Otto was suffering from loose stools and diarrhea, first thought to be brought on by the stress of the shelter environment. After his weight began RAPIDLY dropping we started trying different food options to no relief- so we ran a stool sample to our vet (normal results), and he received an abdominal ultrasound that showed enlarged lymph nodes. He was started on a round of steroids while our vet sent a gastrointestinal blood panel out. His GI results came back normal, he started gaining his weight back, and has since finished his medication! He just had his follow-up appointment, and his abdominal ultrasound looks completely normal now. Our vet believes he was likely suffering from a virus that targeted the digestive system, and he is recovering nicely! ??Otto is neutered, microchipped, & up to date on vaccinations. If you're interested in adding this goofy boy to your family, please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form (located under the ‘adoptable dogs' section). ??

Story
Minnie came to us after we received a phone call from The Danville Police Department who were needing assistance with a dog that had been found by a member of the public in pretty rough shape and obvious distress. It is believed that she was very likely hit by a car, leaving her with some trauma to her head and to her rear/ back legs. Minnie is estimated to be 7 years old with the happiest little snorts and cutest little wobble to her walk, that is sure to just make your heart happy when you see it. She has been enjoying going on her daily walks around the property, playing with her toys, but especially loves getting all the attention and love she's been looking for. Minnie seems to do well with other dogs and although, she may be a little timid at first, she is social with people (but would be best in a home with older children). A meet and greet would be required at our shelter for any potential canine siblings. Minnie is spayed, microchipped & up to date on all her vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting Minnie, please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form (it can be located under the ‘adoptable dogs' section).

Story
Meet Mac, the most adorable 3-year-old pit mix you'll ever lay eyes on! Mac has been through a lot - he came into the shelter as a stray and sadly, no one ever came to claim him. He's feeling scared and stressed in the shelter environment, and he desperately needs a home and loving family to call his own. Mac is a sweetheart with the cutest ears you've ever seen! Despite his tough past, he's a sensitive boy who's just looking for someone to give him the love and security he deserves. He's a bit unsure around strangers at first, but once he trusts you, he's the most loyal companion you could ask for. This smart boy has tons of potential with the right training. He's eager to learn and impress, and he'll thrive with someone who can give him the guidance and patience he needs. Mac is full of energy and loves to play - he'll keep you entertained for hours with his antics! Mac gets along with all the other dogs at the shelter, and did well during his "cat-test." He's ready to be the best buddy for someone who's willing to give him a chance. Could you be the one to give Mac the loving home he so desperately craves? Don't let this amazing boy spend another day in the shelter - adopt Mac today and give him the happy ending he deserves! Mac is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Penny for Your Thoughts? This adoptable dog hopes they include her! Penny is a (estimated) 3 year old who weights 42 pounds-the perfect size for any house. Penny can be a little wary at first-but doesn't take long to warm up. Once comfortable, Penny is the queen of chill, and would make the perfect companion for anyone who can show her the devotion and respect she deserves. We imagine she's be just as content enjoying a cozy weekend at home as she would be exploring the great outdoors, and she's quickly getting the hang of walks on a leash.Penny can't be placed in a home with cats. She can be dog selective at times, and seems to do better with female dogs- a meet and greet would be required for any potential canine siblings. Do you have room in your family for Penny? Penny is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. If interested in adopting, please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form (it can be located under the ‘adoptable dog' section)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ryker is a handsome, friendly, silly pitbull mix.  He came to us through no fault of his own--his owner was no longer able to care for him. Full of puppy energy, Ryker needs an active owner or family who will channel his energy and keep him mentally stimulated.  A fence is not required, but would be preferred as he really needs a place to run.  He walks nicely on a leash.  Wiggly and happy, Ryker just loves attention and is good with other dogs and kids.  His energy may be a lot for little children, but older kids who will play ball and take him for walks would be awesome. Ryker is neutered and updated with vaccines and is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!April 28, 2024, 10:41 am
