Story
Donna is gorgeous and she loves a good conversation! She makes great eye contact, and listens carefully. She wants to please, and she's not a cat to ignore you or pretend she doesn't care. She cares! Donna will bond with you and see you as her protector and friend. She enjoys being petted and given attention.  She was assaulted by a cat years ago and is still wary. She has a private room here and we would like her to be an only cat or to have lots of space and her own eating area.  Donna was born in 2014 but doesn't look her age!  We want to make adopting easy for you! Here’s our application:   https://rappcats.org/adoptions/ Once you complete it, we’re on it! We’ll call your vet (or personal reference) the next business day. Then we like to do a brief video chat (FaceTime if you have it) so you can show us your new pet’s home - where they’ll sleep, eat, and play. During our chat, we can also give you tips or answer questions about how to successfully integrate your new family member into your household, especially if you have other pets. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers our costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet exam, and supplies. (Once old enough, all our cats are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered.) We’re a strictly no-kill shelter just for cats. We’re cage-free, donation-based, and volunteer-powered. We’re small but special and we’re glad you found us! For more info don’t hesitate to call or text us at 540-987-6050 or email us at adopt@rappcats.org.      May 16, 2024, 10:53 am

Story
Hello! I am heartbreakingly looking to rehome my big old baby boy. Long story medium, a few major life changes happened and I can no longer provide him with the unconditional love and care he deserves. The major culprit being severe PPD and a huge financial shift. He’s does have some ongoing health concerns that I cannot afford to properly have evaluated. I can only assume some mid tier dental work would be required in the near future. He hasn’t shown any indication of pain, but his breath is noticeably bad. He’s a shy boy at first, but once he’s comfortable he can be very chatty. In the past he has been able to adapt to other cats in the household with proper introductions. He’s going on 16 so if he’s not seeking attention, he’s sleep. He is not suited for a home with children. Feel free to ask any other questions!

Story
Nina is a nearly five-year-old female short-hair cat with velvety soft fur. She has black and white tuxedo markings on her lower body and calico markings on her back and upper body. She is a very sweet girl who loves being petted and who also appreciates her quiet time and watching family activities without engaging. Nina's favorite sleeping place is in her foster Mom's bed or the chair next to the bed. Nina has the softest, squeakiest meow that she uses to signal she wants your attention and to be petted. She loves to play with the laser toy and nap next to her foster siblings. Nina has not been exposed to children or dogs she has not demonstrated any aggressive behavior to date with humans. She gets along very well with the other cats in her foster home. Nina had a full medical work up and she has no health issues at this time, She tested negative for FIV/FeLV and she is spayed. You can call Jayne at: 703-457-0603 to learn more about Nina. It is the Shadow Cat Advocate adoption policy that our adopted cats cannot be declawed or allowed outdoors. Story
Are you ready for a cuddle companion? Mr. Tarzan is just the kitty for you. He was discovered hanging around a feral colony and was begging for attention. After searching for weeks for his owners with no results he is now in foster care. Mr. Tarzan loves attention and being petted. Lots of purrs going on with him. Mr. Tarzan is a senior kitty (approximately 12 years old). He would love to be your buddy. Mr. Tarzan is fully vaccinated, is negative for FIV and FeLV, is spayed, and microchipped. He has had his rabies shot and is an indoor only cat. It is a SCA policy that our cats cannot be declawed or allowed to go outside. If you would like to find out more about adopting this delightful cat, please call Cari at 571-408-9626 or email info@shadowcatadvocates.org. We answer emails as quickly as possible, but calling for info will be much faster.
