Foster/Foster to Adopt/Adopt Bear is one of our parvo survivors from 2018. He was adopted into what we thought was a great home, in Courtland. Three years later, right after Christmas, Bear was turned into the Santa Cruz shelter by an unknown person. He was in a bad state of health. We brought Bear back to our rescue and treated him for demodex. It has been about 7 months now and Bear is ready to find a loving home. He has been a super easy foster dog. He loves to nap and he loves to eat! He is fostered with many other foster dogs and does great but does need to be watched around high value treats with the other dogs. Bear’s mom was a husky and his dad a staffy. Bear is a lower energy dog but his husky side comes out when he talks. Bear is almost 90 lbs and a big sweet Bear! Lily is between 4 and 5 years old. She was once a mother and then found her self in an animal shelter. Sharon adopted Lily a little over two years ago. Since then, Lily has been living with Sharon in a senior community outside Walnut Creek. Lily is house trained and holds it until Sharon takes her on a walk. Lily usually gets three short walks per day. Lily likes chewing on stuffed toys and tugging on the rope. Lily loves chasing a ball and running around outside. Lily loves people and likes to be close and cuddle with humans. Sharon hasn't really socialized Lily with other animals or children. Lily is smart and trainable. Sharon is losing her memory and needs to move into different housing where Lily isn't allowed. Lilly would really be better off if she could get more walks and play time. His favorite things are car rides and cuddling. He is calm and well-behaved enough to have gone shopping at TJ Maxx and Safeway and to dine outdoors at restaurants. He is house-trained and crate-trained. GT's been through a lot in his life but he remains a happy dog with a sweet, lovable temperament. At one time, he lived with other big dogs in a foster home. But when his foster mom got too ill to care for them, they all had to go into a boarding facility. Poor GT now lives in a kennel. This sweet guy deserves so much more. If you're able to provide long-term foster care until he finds his forever home, food, supplies, and medical expenses will be covered. Here's what one volunteer said about him: "We call him Snuggles after spending a few hours with him. He is beyond amazing. We took a slow walk, went for a long car ride (which seemed to be his favorite) and then took him shopping at TJ Max! He loved it! We fell in love with him. He’s easy to be with and pulled at our heartstrings. He’s such a good boy. Looks like he’s been through a lot. He’d be such a great dog for anyone from what we saw. I’m so happy to do anything to make his life a little bit happier. He seemed super happy today and he deserves the best life. I’m overjoyed to have met Snuggles??"

My name is Ninja, and I am 6 years old. I’m a loving girl who likes to go with the flow. I was rescued 3 years ago from the Martinez shelter where they had me listed as very timid, and was on the euth list. Luckily, I was adopted on the spot when my dad and I met. We bonded instantly! Check out my pictures, I’m pretty darn cute and my eyes are so soulful. I’ve learned a lot since I was adopted, but due to the pandemic and a forced move, my dad is not able to provide me the home I deserve. My dad says I’m an awesome dog and the best companion ever! I’m pretty much down for anything you want to do. I like lots of things like running, walking, hiking or just relaxing at home. I ride really well in a car and just get comfortable in my spot. I’m just happy being with my person. I’m great with kids over 12 years old. I get pretty stressed living with other animals and I would be happiest in a home as an only pet. My dad says I am a super quick learner, know many commands and am eager to please. I’m in great shape and health, spayed, up to date on all my shots and even covered with pet health insurance.
