This is a private adoption with courtesy posting... All shots are up-to-date. No health problem, ready to go to a good home. This is a free adoption, and adopters must fill out an application and be vetted, with no exceptions. We met this sweet dog yesterday (Sunday). He was at the front of his kennel, wagging his tail and eager to come outside with us. He enjoys scratches, and gives us kisses. Overall, he is very friendly with people. Popeye arrived at the shelter in April along with his housemate, Marble. While Marble has since been adopted, Popeye has patiently awaited his turn. Popeye is loyal to humans and his handlers. Popeye is still young and needs some training but is very quick to learn and eager to please. He is a wonderful dog with a great personality and would love to find his furever home.

Story

Ferdinand is a rescue who was surrendered due to a medical issue (cherry eye) that was repaired by the shelter. He has lived with me for 3 years as a very loyal companion. However, life challenges are preventing me from giving him the attention and care that he needs and this is leading to the development of behavioral issues that I am not able to address. The good: Ferdinand is very food motivated, which makes it very easy to teach him new commands and to practice obedience training. He also is very chill and is happy to spend most of his day sleeping in various places around the house. In the evenings, he loves cuddling up next to me on the couch or on his heated mat. The challenges: Ferdinand is becoming more and more reactive to strangers in the home. He had a bite incident, but luckily no legal action was taken. He is crate-trained and is happy to wear a muzzle in public. The behavior could be extinguished with further training that I am unable to provide.

FOSTER CARE! Awhoooo! I'm Emilio! I'm a 2 year old, neutered male, 60 pound Chocolate American Staffordshire Terrier / Husky mix and I'm excited to meet you! I'm a very affectionate boy but I can come on a bit strong. It's only because I'm so stoked to see you! I love giving hugs and will try to sit on you. I'm as cuddly and huggable as can be! My ideal home will be with adults only who are ready to devote lots of time and energy giving me love, training and exercise. My foster family absolutely loves me! Here's what they have to say: 'Emilio is a joy to have in our home. He is a little shy at first but once past that, he is the sweetest, most loving, cuddly, and playful boy. He is great with our dog Margo, our cat, and all other dogs we meet outside the house. We leave him loose in the house with Margo and he hasn't chewed or destroyed anything. He doesn't go in the trash or on the counters. Potty training is almost nailed down. He is really good with sit, stay, down, and shake commands and eats his meals in the crate with the door shut(we are working on crate training). He LOVES walks (especially when he can run) snuggles, sunbathing, play time and chew toys. His recall off leash is good. He has a lot of puppy play energy and would be good in an active home or a home with another dog he can be friends with.' Pogo is an amazing ~1yo micro American Bully weighing only about 25lbs (basically he’s a nice cocker spaniel/beagle size), who came to rescue after trauma and having his front leg amputated. That doesn’t stop this fun pogo stick! He races and hops around no problem! He is great with everyone he meets- people, dogs, cats, and even farm animals. Really well adjusted little dude. He’s cratetrained and housebroken. He has the personality to become mayor of your town, everyone loves him and he loves everyone! Foster, Adopt OR Foster-to-Adopt me! Sweet pittie Tito has beautiful eyes, a contagious grin… and a purr? Two-year-old Tito is healthy, potty trained, walks well on leash, and loves learning new tricks. Long hikes on the weekend get Tito’s energy out, and he spends his weekdays napping on blankets near his foster mom. Tito is easy-and naturally quiet. He rarely barks, but makes piggy snorts and purrs throughout the day. (We think he’s 1/3 dog, 1/3 cat, and 1/3 pig!) Tito was shy when he arrived at the shelter, but warmed up with treats and attention. He bonds tightly to any gentle person who shows him patience and love. Once you’re his person, sweet Tito enjoys giving kisses, getting couch cuddles, and making you laugh with silly bum-wiggles! Tito loves other dogs, and easily made friends in shelter playgroups. He will be a fantastic brother for another dog. Tito needs a dog-savvy home, ideally with a yard so Tito can roll around on the grass. (As we said - part pig.) We recommend a home without small children; Tito seems to like kids, but can be a bowling ball when he gets the zoomies. He needs a patient family that commits to positive training methods - this gentle boy needs spoiling, not discipline!
