Story
Billy, Billy, Billy! The favorite amongst police officers. Our baby boy is the most handsome guy with piercing greyish eyes and a personality as big as the moon! Billy was a stray that was never claimed and sat for months in the police station. We were luckily able to find a great foster home for him and he has now completed 8 sessions of training with our hand-picked trainer for manners and leash walking. He will need continued work on greeting people and leash walking - FYI. He knows sit, kennel, paw, stay, and down and is house-trained, crate-trained and is working on a release command. Billy is a foodie and his favorite things to eat are....STRAWBERRIES AND BLUEBERRIES! This dude loves people and he especially loves his human foster sister who is 8 yrs old. He is good with kids and loves to be in the center of their shenanigans. He isn't fond of other animals so he must be in a home with no other dogs or cats. Children should be sturdy or 5 and up. He is known to steal kids toys as his own, but my mom always said that if its on the floor, its fair game! The human neighbors like to play with Billy over the fence. He brings his ball to the fence where the neighbor will pick up and throw the ball for hours with him. Billy likes to Netflix and nap, get belly rubs, play fetch, and eat chicken jerky! Billy also has some funny quirks - he makes alien sounds, likes to flip his water bowl or food bowl to let you know he's empty, he will let you know he has to potty when he won't get out of your personal space. Billy is learning to be less mouthy - so an assortment of chew toys, non-rawhide bones and licky mats are a must. My DNA test showed me to be a American Staffordshire/American Pitbull and then a bunch of crazy breeds no one expected at lower percentages. He is absolutely adorable in looks, shorter legs, whipping tail, wiggling butt with bright eyes and a smile. New Experiences: Trooper does not seem to have been exposed to much, so everything seems new to him. His two foster dogs loved him immediately, and they are helping him learn what normal is. He would benefit from a home with another dog to show him the ropes, not looking to dominant him. Eager Learner: Trooper wants to please, so he’s very eager to learn. He knows sit and shake, walks nicely on lead, knows “place”, and down. A training class with his new owners would go along way

Kane is about 7–8 years old and has been patiently waiting with us for quite some time. On the surface, he checks all the classic dog boxes: he’s never met a treat he didn’t like (except broccoli… we’re still not sold on that one), he loves leisurely walks where he can stop and sniff absolutely everything, he enjoys rolling in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and chasing a soccer ball as fast as his chunky little butt will carry him. But Kane is far from an ordinary dog. What some people mistake for stubbornness is actually what our trainer calls intelligent disobedience. Kane is a thinker. He knows the routine, he knows our tricks, and he’s usually one step ahead. If he’s outside and not quite ready to come in, don’t worry — he already knows someone will eventually show up with treats to negotiate. Honestly, there are moments we’re convinced he’s just a person living in a dog’s body. After undergoing two ACL repair surgeries, Kane earned himself recovery accommodations in one of the coziest rooms in the shelter — the Shelter Operations Manager’s office. He enjoyed the VIP lifestyle so much that the rest of the shelter simply doesn’t meet his standards anymore. During his office era, staff quickly learned that Kane specializes in delivering the wettest kisses imaginable, staying close to his favorite people, and expertly convincing humans to hand over extra snacks (he’s very persuasive). Beneath his goofy charm is an incredibly loving, affectionate, and deeply loyal dog. Kane bonds closely with his people and while he may take a little time to build trust, once you’re in his circle, you’re his forever. He thrives on companionship and would do best as the only pet in a home where someone is around to keep him company and appreciate all the love he has to give. Kane isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for his person. And if you give him your loyalty, he promises to return it tenfold, along with endless cuddles, laughter, and a lifetime of unforgettable moments.
