Meet Jelly Bean, a charming and unique pup with an inspiring backstory. As a foster-based rescue, we receive numerous requests for surrendering pets daily, but Jelly Bean’s situation caught our attention. When her family faced the challenge of finding a new home due to a landlord’s change of heart, we couldn’t resist stepping in to help, especially since she happens to be deaf.
After reaching out to our interaction team and trainers, we connected with Ali from I Got This SIT, LLC, who immediately offered her assistance. Jelly Bean is a quick learner and has mastered commands like Sit, Down, Touch, Paw, Place/Mat, Come, and she is crate trained. While she has a higher energy level, she thoroughly enjoys training sessions and interacting with other dogs.
In her leisure time, Jelly Bean loves indulging in treats like liver sausage, crunchy treats, cheese, and Real Meat Co. treats. She finds joy in playing with tug ropes, standing between your legs, and getting love and scratches from people.
Jelly Bean’s friendly nature extends to people and larger dogs, making her a great companion for families with kids over 10 years old and other doggy friends. However, she isn’t a fan of cats, and her leash biting habit is being addressed with training.
We believe the perfect home for Jelly Bean would be one that understands the needs of a deaf dog and continues using the hand signals she’s been trained with. Patience and dedication to working on her leash biting are essential. A fenced yard and the presence of another larger dog for playtime would be a bonus, as she thrives in the company of her furry friends.
