Story
Meet Freya Freya is a 4-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Freya's adoption fee is $250 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, and cherry eye surgery on both eyes.

Story
Hans is the embodiment of a good boy. He is comfortable with everyone, easy to walk, listens well, and just wants to enjoy life with his family. * Good with new people * Good with dogs, including off leash dog parks * Good with cats, including cats that do not like him. He does get stuck in rooms sometimes because the cat is in the doorway. * Good with kids, even those who don’t know how to be nice yet. His biggest flaw - if you can call it that - is that he’s a giant cuddle bug that does not realize he’s 70 lbs. His favorite place to sit is on his humans, and he goes to great lengths to figure out how to do so. He’s completely kennel trained and will “go to bed” from anywhere in the house. Needs a little bit more training with manners, especially when food is left out. But he has no aggressive characteristics. Mess with his feet, eyes, ears, mouth, all safe. Adoption fee will be donated to Great Plains SPCA.

Thank you for taking the time to read about Moses. Writing something like this is never easy, but we hope to find him the calm, loving home he truly deserves. Moses is a sweet Boxer who has been with our family since he was just 10 weeks old. He has a gentle heart and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. He is wonderful on a leash, enjoys his walks, and is happiest spending quiet time with his people. Moses is also sensitive and nervous, especially around other dogs. Because of this, he would do best as the only dog in a calm home where he can feel safe and relaxed. A fenced yard is important for him, as he is a runner and loves having space to move around safely. He finds comfort in routine and actually prefers being kenneled when he is alone or at night; it helps him feel secure. Once he feels safe with someone, his sweet and loyal personality really shines. Moses is a really good dog who simply needs the right environment. One that is quiet patient, and full of love.

Meet Cane! Cane is a sweet, goofy Boxer/Pit Bull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for naps and snuggles. He's house-trained, knows his basic commands, and loves learning new things, especially when treats are involved (very food motivated!). Most days, Cane is happily snoozing, supervising his humans, or curled up as close as possible on the couch. Once a day, he enjoys a short but enthusiastic case of the zoomies before returning to his favorite activity: relaxing. Toys will bring him out of a slumber every time, and he loves some rowdy playtime too. Cane would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He does best without other animals or children and truly shines when he gets all the attention. In the right home, he's affectionate, loyal, and full of personality. If you're looking for a low-key companion who will keep your couch warm and your heart full, Cane may be your perfect match. I wish I could keep him myself truly, he's my best friend.

We absolutely love Copper and Lola. Copper is so loving and loves belly scratches. Lola loves to lazy around and is a great running dog! They both know to sit, lay down, and are potty trained. They are great guard dogs, they will bark at strangers that approaches the door (stopped a few Amazon package thieves). We unfortunately are rehoming both of them because our son has been diagnosed by dermatology and his allergist with a SEVERE dog allergy. We want someone who is looking for a new cuddle friends and ready for sweet doggy kisses.

Story
Nobody knows how to wear a hat quite like I do&#44 dont you think? Hi there&#44 Im Ava! A sweet and silly girl that cant wait for her forever family. Thankfully&#44 all the kind people at the shelter have given me so much to be happy about. Ive learned what it means to be house trained&#44 how to share my toys&#44 and Ive experienced what it means to be loved&#44 really and truly loved by a human.

I want so much to trust every human I meet right away. But I need a little time to get to know someone and really develop a sense of connection and love for that human. The shelter experience lends itself to a lot of unfamiliar people needing to interact with me often&#44 and I get nervous and scared around all that attention. I prefer slower introductions&#44 getting to know the person&#44 and finding that I can trust that no one wants to hurt me. Once there is patience and understanding between us&#44 Im a little doll. Ive got quite the personality&#44 and I want so much to be a part of a family and feel included in activities.

I am also kennel trained&#44 and I like to sleep in my quiet little spot. Ive been soaking up the love in a foster home recently. When Im not snuggled up with Foster Dad&#44 I enjoy playing with my toys and snoozing the day way. I absolutely adore squeaky toys&#44 and Im a big fan of car rides&#44 too. Starbucks Pup Cup anyone?

Before I fully commit to a family&#44 Id really love to meet everyone to ensure we all have that special connection. Since Im still learning that new people are indeed trustworthy&#44 I would appreciate older kids who know how to be gentle with me. Love is a two-way street&#44 you know. I cant wait to shower my new family with endless love&#44 loyalty&#44 and lots of joy. Together&#44 well make beautiful memories&#44 and I promise to be the best companion anyone could ask for.

Love from Ava

Story
Meet Mia – A Resilient, Playful, and Loving Companion! Mia is a 2-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who’s come a long way since she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. With lots of love, patience, and professional training, she’s blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who’s ready for her forever home. These days, Mia loves being a ride-along buddy—she enjoys running errands, exploring home improvement stores, and meeting new people (especially those with treats!). She’s gentle when taking snacks from both her foster and friendly strangers, and her social confidence continues to grow every day. Mia is leash-trained and has been working with professional trainers for the past six months to build her confidence and reduce her fear-based reactions. She’s made amazing progress and knows several commands, including sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and is currently learning leave it. She’s crate-trained and happily settles in with a peanut butter Kong. At home, Mia is a great balance of playful and calm. She loves romping in the yard, playing chase or wrestling with her foster sister, and showing off her epic zoomies before curling up in a cozy spot for a nap. Because of her background, Mia can be protective of her resources around other dogs, but she’s making steady progress. She would thrive either as an only dog or with a larger, calm, and playful canine companion. She’s not a fit for homes with cats or young children. Mia can jump a short fence, so she’ll need a home with a tall, secure privacy fence or an adopter committed to leash-walking her for potty breaks. Mia has a big heart and is ready to share it with the right person or family. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s already put in the work to become her best self—Mia might just be the one! If you are interested in meeting Mia, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Story
Meet Ladybug 🐾 DOB: 09/24/2025 Weight: 19 lbs (and growing!) Breed: Pit Bull Terrier mix (best guess) Ladybug is a beautiful blue/gray pittie puppy who is settling in nicely with her foster family and showing what a social, people-oriented little dog she is. She enjoys being close to her humans and happily joins in whatever is going on around her. This young girl gets along well with both dogs and cats, making her a great option for a home with other pets when introductions are done thoughtfully. Her foster reports that Ladybug is kennel trained and learning quickly, though she is still working on potty training and leash skills — all normal puppy progress that will continue with consistency and routine. Ladybug recently had her cherry eye corrected and is healing well. She will be fully vetted soon and ready for her next chapter. Like many puppies, she enjoys chewing and does best when provided with appropriate bones and toys to keep her busy. ✨ Friendly, social personality ✨ Good with dogs and cats ✨ Kennel trained ✨ Typical playful puppy energy ✨ Still learning potty training and leash skills Ladybug is looking for a home ready to guide her through puppyhood with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement. With continued training and engagement, she’s sure to grow into a wonderful companion. Breed mix is a best guess based on appearance; we cannot guarantee breed makeup. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. Story
Buddy Boy (BB) Mixed Breed DOB: 10/20/2024 Approx. 50 lbs Hi! My name is Buddy Boy—though I’m often told I look just like Petey from The Little Rascals, and I don’t mind the comparison at all. Extra attention comes with it, and I love that part. Buddy is a friendly, affectionate one-year-old who loves everyone he meets. He is fully house trained in his foster home and has had no accidents. While he didn’t experience a lot as a young puppy, new things may be briefly scary at first—but once he knows he’s safe, he relaxes quickly and is ready to have fun. He enjoys playing with other dogs and loves to bounce around, roll in the dirt, and be part of the action. Buddy has lived with young children and did well, showing gentle and appropriate behavior. Buddy has also lived in a home with guinea pigs and does well around them, though small animals should always be supervised. He listens well, has good recall, and is an easy, fun companion to have around. Buddy is looking for a home ready to give him love, consistency, and plenty of time together. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro.
