Abbie may appear short in stature, however, her Boxer mix is in her back legs which makes her very springy. Her Foster Mom lovingly calls her the “Houdini” because she is determined to escape the backyard. Because of this, she would be safest in an apartment or home with frequent walks and should not be left alone in a back yard. She also LOVES doggy daycare! She's a beautiful athletic girl and can't wait to meet you. Friends, meet Dewey! He is a gentle giant that has the sweetest face you will ever see. He will be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your protector. He loves everyone he meets and enjoys playing outside with other dogs. His BFF in his foster home is a teenage boy and they love hanging out in the basement together! Dewey isn't very conscious of his size (can you imagine having to coordinate those giant feet?!), so he'd do best in a home without young children. Dewey is fully housebroken and knows how to use a doggy door. He is very talkative and will be sure to let you know if someone is trying to sneak into your yard! He absolutely loves to play in the pool, especially when he gets to splash around with his doggy friends. He has made doggy friends of all sizes, all the way from 12lbs up to 100lbs. Due to his age, he has a lot of energy and will require a little bit of obedience training. He will also need to learn some manners as he loves to jump up and give lots of kisses. He is a happy go lucky sort of boy, but can be protective of his people.  Baxter is fine with some dogs and not with others so we would prefer he goes to a home with no other dogs.  When he does play with other dogs he has a rough and rowdy play style that cam be overwhelming to some dogs. The ideal home for Baxter would be a quiet house without a lot of in and out traffic of non family members coming and going, a nice couch or dog bed for him to lounge on, a toy box full of stuffy toys and a privacy fenced back yard.  He is not a dog that requires a lot of exercise so playing in the house with his toys or in the backyard should be fine for him. Meet Espresso! Unfortunately we will never know this sweet old man's past, other than he was found as a stray and taken to a kill shelter where he was euth listed only because of his age. The only dog in an empty row they decided wasn't worth living and to walk down the hall and never return. We could not let that be his fate. Since being with us, this sweet old man has ready made a few doggie friends and does his best to keep up with the playful younger pups. Meet Dorothy! This sweet girl lost her home when her owner went to jail and she was left in a hotel room by herself. She is on the smaller side, weighing only 36 pounds, and uses a wheelchair due to an old spinal injury. She currently has a UTI that we are treating and a heart murmur. Her previous foster said "Dorothy is very quiet and timid, not quite interested in human touch just yet but she just got here today. She could add a little weight on her and has an old spinal injury which is resulting in her hind end paralysis. She is very good at scooting around but has some sores. I set up her kennel and she went in there immediately, it's her safe space!"

While her beautiful black coat is striking, it's her eyes that truly tell the story. When it comes to showing affection, she leans against you for rubs and eagerly presents her favorite toy. Espresso never loses a game of hide-and-seek and loves to challenge your tug-of-war skills. Mia is a loveable 1-2 year old pitty mix who is full of affection. She was rescued by one of our foster parents in the terribly cold, alone with her 2 puppies. Mia loves to give kisses and snuggle. She is a young mama who she loves to run and wrestle. She’s food and praise motivated and has been learning a few commands. This sweet girl is so eager to please and will bond quickly to someone who offers a kind word and a cuddle. Her two favorite things are the yard and couch time.
