He is fostering in a home with an older, easily stressed small dog and 2 kittens - Indy has too much interest in the kittens so this is not the ideal situation. We think this pup’s ideal home would be as a solo pet or possibly as a sibling to another large dog. He is super friendly, playful, energetic, and sweet. He loves people, loves to be active, and enjoys playing fetch though he may get distracted here and there. He’s very lovable! He is easy to bathe and does great in the car. He is very food and treat motivated so we believe he will take to additional training well. He has a big heart and has a lot of love to give to anyone who wants to love him right back. We think he will make a great adventure buddy for a lucky person or family! Working with him on sitting and leash training. He does well in the bath and the car Age: approx 3-4 years Weight: 70 lbs, underweight, working on improving that Temperament: Gets along with with older kids, not tested with toddlers, other dogs his size, with proper introduction. Ideally, his new owners would also continue to work on his obedience and behavior training - he picks up on new skills quickly so it shouldn't take long for him to become well-rounded! Leia is energetic, playful, & a great listener with tons of potential for any type of specialized training. Above all, Leia loves people. She's very affectionate, but also low maintenance & doesn't mind some alone time. Sadly, I need to rehome her because she can’t safely live with our cats. We've done everything to make it work - literally moved to a bigger house, installed locks & safety devices, & rotated scheduled for who roams when, but we’ve had several close calls. With two young children, both of whom do not understand the need for strict separation and consequences, we're afraid he will bypass our safety measures. As a result of these changes, everyone gets far less attention. Leia deserves a home where can be given the deserving love and attention. Leia is sometimes dog selective but can adapt, and would also thrive in a single pet household. She's in great health and I’m happy to help support the financial aspect of her transition (I am not charging any fees).

Meet Trey! The perfectly pocket sized pittie whose only flaw is his inability to keep his tongue in his mouth. Don’t let Trey’s age fool you, this guy has plenty of energy and is ready to run straight into your heart. Trey is an adventurous, curious guy who’s also down to curl up on the couch for a nap. Trey loves every person and every dog he’s ever encountered and would appreciate being a part of a pack, especially of larger dogs he can chase around a yard and cuddle puddle with. He knows no strangers and his love knows no bounds. Trey has been through a lot over the years. In his original intake at FOR he was suffering from gunshot wounds and 2 broken legs. And yet, after that and his family relocating, he is still so trusting and gentle. You may see evidence of his hard past in the way he flinches when he doesn’t see your hand coming, but his healing is evident in how quickly he melts into the pets afterwards. Trey knows basic commands and is fully housetrained. He is around 60 lbs and believed to be around 9 years old. He is fully vaccinated, on monthly flea & tick prevention, and recently underwent treatment for heartworms. He is fostered in Huntsville, AL, and is available for meet & greets there, if adopted from outside the area his foster has agreed to travel up to 200 miles for transport at no charge to the adopter. Trey has not been tested with cats, and will only be placed in a home with adults and older children (no babies or toddlers).

This handsome senior terrier/pittie mix, weighing around 70 pounds, was rescued from a Georgia animal control facility after being placed on the "urgent list" through no fault of his own. He quickly became a staff favorite and found his way to safety in NJ with EHR. Pascal is known for his mellow, low-key demeanor and makes a wonderful companion. He’s obedient, sweet, and friendly with all people. Despite his gentle nature, he isn't a fan of cats and would do best as the only pet in your home. He’s well-behaved, knows the sit command, and enjoys going for relaxing car rides as your faithful co-pilot. Surrendered down south for being TOO LAZY!!!!! Meet Lil Mama, the 8-year-old “lazy” unwanted angel. Before that, she came into our southern friends’ shelter as a stray, still lactating from having puppies. Another momma discarded once she was no longer wanted. Now she’s safe and finally getting the chance she deserves. Lil Mama can be a bit shy at first, but she is a wonderful companion. She loves walks and is great on the leash, enjoys long naps on the couch, and occasionally surprises you with a hippo-length zoomie. She gets along well with our other dog and is respectful enough to give our cantankerous cat her personal space. She would make a great family pet and a lovely, calm addition to the home.
