Story
We got Belle from the shelter as a puppy. She is 5.5 years old and has tons of energy! She would be perfect for an active family that could take her for long walks, runs, or hikes. When she’s not running she likes to sit beside you and lay her head in your lap for pets. She does really good with one of our dogs but not the other one so that is why we are having to rehome her.

Story
I am looking to rehome my dog Baxter which is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. He is a 4 year old mixed breed. We have had him since he was 3 months old. We got him from a rescue where we used to live in New Jersey. He is a very sweet boy who loves attention and definitely needs play and exercise. He LOVES other dogs. He can be nervous with strangers unless they have a dog, so I think it would be best for him to be in a home with another dog. The reason that we must find him a new home is due to my 2 year old son being allergic to pet dander. I have tried my best to work around it since we discovered my sons allergy, but I don’t feel that it is fair to my dog to be kept away from us so often. I can tell he is bored and lonely even though I’m trying my best to give him attention. Thinking of not having Baxter anymore breaks my heart, but I have to think about what is best for him and my son. He is a great dog and I want him to have a great life.

Story
Dale is approx thirteen years old, 53 pounds and is an American Staffordshire mix. He is a wonderful goofy character! Dale was picked up by animal control as a stray.  He was starving and looked like he had given up and was on his way out. A week into fostering and he popped back, playful, enjoying food and toys! He is great with other female dogs and fantastic with people. His foster writes: "Dale is so loving. I rub his head and give him kisses and he literally melts into my hands. He's such a good boy! He is going to make a great dog for someone!"  Dale loves his milk bones and playing with his toy bone (see hilarious video). Dale is healthy and fully vetted. Dale has visual impairment due to a detached retina and we had some of his teeth pulled that caused him pain.  He doesn't let his lack of sight stop him!  He learned his way around his fosters house and yard very well!  Dale is a playful soulful boy, one of our favorites.  Many years ahead for this boy snatched from the jaws of death!  He loves to be the life of the party and looks for anyone who might have a good treat or love to give him!  He has never met a person he didn't like!  He is also a hoarder.  He likes to shoe shop in his foster mom's closet and take all the shoes to his crate!  He doesn't chew them, he just likes to collect them!  He also likes to wander around the house and get his brothers and sisters food bowls and carry back to his crate.  At least she knows where to find anything missing!   If you are interested in finding out more about Dale, please fill out an adoption application online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!    May 6, 2024, 10:08 am

Sage is a 14 month old, 40 Lb Mixed breed Sage is a wonderful girl who was found wandering the streets.  She is good with everyone and everything!  Cats included!  She is very agile and has lots of energy but is also content chewing on a bone and relaxing.  She doesn't care much for her crate, but she is not destructive when left alone in the house, in fact, she will sit right next to the door waiting on your return!  She will follow you everywhere and just wants to be near you at all times! She does great on a leash and is fully housetrained.  Sage is extremely loving and sweet and will love you forever!  Her foster said she is just the best girl! Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old, 49 Lb American Staffordshire Terrier This dog is not part of CrisisDogsNC.  This is a courtesy posting on behalf of Ben with Haven Dog Training.  If you are interested in finding out more, email him directly at email ben@havendogtraining.com  Meet Bonnie. When it comes to homing dogs a sob story sells (and boy does she have one) however, I want someone to adopt her because they want a great dog and not because they want to get a dog on an emotional impulse or to brag about her back story. For anyone I interview as a potential home I will tell you everything I know about her.    Bonnie is energetic, smart, and incredibly sweet. For the right dog person she even has sport dog potential. She was intitially unsure around large men but now will warm up to anyone. She also loves playing with my personal dogs. She’s my ideal pet dog-has a good burst of energy and then will happily sleep the rest of the day away.    Bonnie is crate, house, and leash trained. I want her to go to a home that will incorporate training into their life with her, crate her when leaving her home, and shower her with love. I have taken her on as my personal project and so she is available directly through me. I am in no rush to get rid of her. I am willing to wait for the perfect home. Ideally I want her to go to someone in/around the triangle so I can do a follow up lesson as well as be a resource for life. I also offer boarding to dogs that have been through one of my programs. While she’s been just fine with other dogs as well as an indoor pet rabbit I think she’d thrive as an only dog-she literally cannot get enough love.    If you’re interested in applying to be Bonnie’s new home then email ben@havendogtraining.com with your name, number, and location as well as why you would like to adopt her and I’ll get back to you from there. If you aren’t looking for a new dog but see this-sharing it would be a huge help. The more people that share her,  the more likely she’ll find the perfect home nearby.      May 6, 2024, 10:08 am
