Story
Meet Peanut! Peanut is a 1-and-a-half-year-old, 52-pound Staffordshire Terrier mix with lots of enthusiasm for life and a strong love for his people. He is currently being cared for by one of our dedicated foster families! Described as a sweet and affectionate boy, he is ready to settle into a forever family as a devoted Velcro dog. Peanut has proven to be a quick learner and is ready to wow you with his incredible new leash manners! He has nailed down the basics with crate and potty training, and he knows “sit” and “come”. Always up for a challenge, he is working hard for a consistent “stay” as well. As a guy who will do most anything for a treat (specifically apple slices), Peanut has great potential to learn even more cool tricks! Being a young dog still learning to manage his excitement, Peanut is working on his self-control: he will jump up to greet his people and gets very excited to play with canine companions. As such, his foster family believes that he would do best with a more mellow dog sibling to balance out his energy. He may also do best in a home with older or no children, as his larger frame and zoomies could be potentially overwhelming for younger kiddos. A fenced-in yard would be great for him to run around and get his energy out, especially when he comes out of his crate excited and ready to go! Described as a “master chewer”, Peanut quickly works through toys and requires stronger material to keep him busy. With his love for chewing, he should be monitored around any shoes, socks, or miscellaneous items lying nearby at home. With a loving nature and undeniable zest for life, Peanut wants nothing more than to find a forever family to call his own. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog-to-dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!🎾❤️

Story
Sadie is a 13 year old large breed dog who is looking for a quiet, loving home to spend her golden years. She has been a deeply loved companion her whole life, but due to her owner moving into assisted living, she now needs a new place to land. She would do best in a calm, low-traffic home where she can relax and feel safe. About Sadie: • Age: 13 years • Size: Large • Health: Overall healthy, not currently on medications • Mobility: Mild arthritis; prefers minimal stairs • Activity level: Low • Personality: Gentle, calm, affectionate Sadie enjoys short walks outside but is happiest resting in a cozy spot and receiving head pets. She has a quiet, soulful presence and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a relaxed, easygoing dog. Other pets: Sadie can do well with calm dogs but may feel overwhelmed by younger or high-energy dogs. She may also be happiest as the only pet in the home. Sponsorship: We are pleased to announce that Sadie’s veterinary bills will be partially covered by Vintage Fur Senior Dogs Inc! Sadie will receive $600 every year in veterinary coverage for the rest of her life. This money may be used for medical treatments including prescription medication, bloodwork, imaging and more. To learn more about the sponsorship, please contact Fairytale Farm Rescue & Sanctuary or visit https://www.vintagefur.org Sadie isn’t looking for much. Just a quiet place, a soft bed, and someone to sit beside her. If you have room in your heart and home for a senior dog, Sadie would love to meet you. Every fairytale needs a hero... maybe this one is you.

Story
Look at this handsome fella! This is Buddy! He was the product of being dumped, but that doesn't define him! This boy LOVES big! He is very playful and smart! He LOVES toys, most especially his KONG (with peanut butter) and his squeaky toy! He loves to watch TV, hang out on the couch, or by the pool. He is not at all aggressive and he leans into you for love. He is fine with other dogs, curious of the resident cat, but doesn't bother him. Buddy is 2-3 years old. He is up to date on vaccines and has just completed heartworm treatment. He is now neutered and microchipped. He was a fan favorite at the vets office! He is hesitant about getting in the car and it takes some coaxing, but this is the fear of being dumped, again. This will take time, but he will build confidence, there. Homer is crate trained and working on housetraining, as he will mark, if he smells another male dog in the house. He would be fine as an only dog too. Buddy is scared of men. He will not be placed in a home where there is a man. His ideal home is a retired family or an active family. He's a couch potato and lounger... but he can run and play with the best of them too! Buddy is one of the sweetest pitties we have ever come across! He deserves happiness too! Forever. To be considered for adoption, please go to our website and complete the adoption application. https://acfrescue.weebly.com/adoption-foster-and-volunteer-applications.html The adoption fee is $100. This covers his vet exam, all vaccines, heartworm test, prevention, neuter and chip.
