Story
Roscoe is a big-headed, big-hearted cuddle bug who enjoys a good walk, sniffing games, and the occasional burst of zoomies before settling in as close as possible to his person. He loves puzzle toys, treats, and playtime, knows sit and down, and genuinely enjoys training. He does best with routine and enrichment and can entertain himself, but he’s also very people-focused and affectionate once he feels comfortable. Roscoe can be strong on leash and may pull, so continued leash training will be helpful. He has liked some of the dogs he’s met so far and would benefit from slow, planned, and monitored introductions to new people and pets. He appears housetrained, with some leeway needed during the first few days in a new routine. Roscoe can be a bit anxious at times, especially with car rides or brief separations, but he settles well with reassurance and structure. Here are some foster notes on Roscoe: `Roscoe did a sleepover with us for about a week with my other large Pitbull and tabby cat. Roscoe is very affectionate towards humans and cuddles well. He loves to walk and go on runs at any time of the day since he is energetic, but calms down eventually with enrichment, toys, or commands. Roscoe loves to be scratched on his back and slowly rubbed on his face and ears. He is getting comfortable with being rubbed on his belly, but is still cautious. Roscoe is trained to sit and lie down if needed. Roscoe is also trained not to escape from doors and sit when the door is open. Roscoe struggled at first with possessiveness and sharing toys, but was easily trained not to show aggression towards chew toys and bones. He loves to play with other dogs in segments, but should not be left with dogs for long periods of time due to his energy levels. Roscoe tries to dominate other animals in which creates some tension, but he does best in houses with specialized attention and by himself. He also loves to be outside and would benefit from a large yard or frequent activity, but does love a good couch or bed nap.Roscoe will do well with 1-on-1 attention and would do well in a house without other animals or kids/teenagers. Roscoe will do well with empty nesters and adults. Roscoe does well with animals like fish and does not dig or get into anything. He does try to drink toilet water if he runs out of water (he drinks water in large amounts and quickly after play time, so it is best to keep him hydrated). Roscoe is strong and does leash pull, but wrappin

Story
During sleepovers, Cowboy’s playful, goofy, curious, and sweet personality shines. He’s a thick-bodied, big-headed cuddle bug who wants to crawl into your lap and stay there. He’s learning to sit patiently in the kitchen while hoping for an occasional snack and is curious about everything, from brushing teeth to watching the washing machine. Be prepared for a loyal shadow.Cowboy was a great bed warmer during the recent ice storm. His foster reports that he snores, sometimes loudly, but it’s part of his charm. He was very quiet in a rural setting and not much of a barker. Those forehead wrinkles are hard to miss.He did well with house manners during his sleepover, though he may need some adjustment time in a new home. Cowboy is not overly energetic but is happy to join you on a long hike. A harness is recommended as he continues working on leash manners. He has done well with the other dogs he’s met so far in playgroup. In a kennel setting, Cowboy has chewed on soft fabric items when anxious, but this was not seen during his sleepover. He was not crate trained and was not left alone. He may love water. He jumped into a full bathtub on his first night and later into a farm pond, confidence first, swimming skills second.Cats: unknown`Cowboy was a fantastic companion. Once you can get him in the car (lifting or bribing) he settles in quickly. He LOVED the farm and Marla, Mojo and Cookie.  He was great with all the animals he met (we were in Carrboro later) and while other dogs were coming in hot, cowboy had no reaction and let them work their issues out. He also was great when we were sitting at Dingo Dog he was patient and stuck close. He does try to counter surf, but when we said to get down he did. One thing I did learn is that he can’t swim…he was trying to check out the pond and fell in and I almost had to jump in cause that boy sank first ( scared us so much). But thankfully we got him and he shook off the water and went on his merry way. He is a good boy and was gentle with me, my daughter (they were attached) and those he met around town.`

Story
Hello! I was surrendered to the shelter when my previous owner could no longer care for me. I am a little older, but I`m ready to have fun and I still have lots of love to give! I am reported to be good with cats, dogs, and kids in my previous home. All newly adopted pets will need slow, monitored introductions to new people or pets in a home. Visit this page for more information about properly introducing pets.INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Very gentle - took treats sooo gently. Not a mean bone in this boy`s body. He is pretty good on a leash. Loves food :) We went on a walk and to a coffee shop. Finished with a pup cup. Did great in the car and was a perfect boy the whole time. Saw lots of other people, kids and dogs and he was very chill. He`s very gentle. I think he`d be a great family dog.``He is very friendly and well behaved, such a sweetheart. Favorite thing: that he is so gentle and friendly.``Caesar is energetic and happy. He seemed to love seeing new people and sniffing around, an we was super happy when people pet him.``Ceasar is a wonderful dog! He is sweet, affectionate, friendly, and smart. He stayed with us for 5 days and was the best boy. He is house trained and didn`t have a single accident. He was curious and explored the house, but was very respectful and didn`t chew on anything except his squeaky toys. He is great both indoors and outdoors - he loves long walks and is always ready to go out, but when inside he is calm and takes lots of naps. He is the biggest cuddlebug and loves nothing more than to snuggle next to someone on the sofa. He is a very good sleeper and sleeps through the night without needing a crate. He likes squeaky toys and loves food toys - he was excellent at finding treats in a snuffle ball and a food puzzle. Ceasar clearly loved staying with us and being part of a family. I think he is especially suited for someone who wants a loyal, loving companion.``Ceasar is extremely friendly and well-mannered. He loves people and getting lots of pets. He is energetic, enjoys walks, and loves sniffing around. Even though he loves sniffing around he does not get into things. As much as he is energetic, he also loves sleeping and being a cuddle bug. He slept throughout the night and is house-trained. He loves food and is treat-motivated. He gets anxious of noises outside when he is in

Story
Well hello everypawty! Did you say you wanted to get to know me? Well, lets see, I love humans, but other dogs are a hit or miss, so me being the only pet in your home would be the absolute best! Even though I have an awesome professional trainer working with me, I can be a little reactive to other dogs while going on walks, so having a fenced in backyard where I can run and play would be way better! I mean, don't get me wrong, I love walks, but it will have to take a special someone to work with me to make sure I listen while going out on adventures away from home! I also love it when someone throws toys for me! If you don't have a great throwing arm, that's okay, because I'm great around kids, so an awesome family giving me attention also works for me! To adopt me, please fill out an application at lpah.org/adoption.

Story
Alright folks, not to brag but I'm kind of a big deal. Here is a little bit more about my fabulous personality: I'm medium to high energy, so that means my perfect family will be active. You like long walks? How about playing fetch in the back yard? Then I'm your gal! Do you like to shop? Well then, I love toys! So you can shop for me all day and pick out the coolest ones! I do love to chew them though, so you'll have to shop quite often! If you get cold easily, then don't worry I can keep you warm! I'm quite snuggly and I love attention! If you would like to adopt me, an application can be filled out at lpah.org/adoption.
