Story
Twotone is a friendly and loving dog. He's always been an outside dog but he's done well indoors and in his crate since Sept. 2023. Barks at strangers a bit but then settles down. His owner's home burned down in late March 2023. The family has moved and couldn't take him. He currently is at a rescue / sanctuary house in Mebane N.Carolina. I've been taking care of his housing, food, and vet care since April 2023 in conjunction with some other people's help. Once Twotone knows you he just wants to be cared for and especially Loved on.

Story
I met Miracle through an ex-friend in 2019, & fell completely in love with her. I hadn’t seen her since & then she showed up at the local shelter so I called & they told me she had been adopted. Her foster mom reached out to me & asked if I was still interested in her because she wasn’t a good fit at their house. So i’ve had her for about 3 months now. When i first met her in 2019, she lived with other dogs & there wasn’t a problem with her coexisting with them. However i’m not sure what she’s been through since then & she does not get along with my dog now. I’ve tried everything i can think of &they just are not getting along. I also have two kids, a 3 yr old & an 11 m old, she is okay with them until she isn’t. I do my very best to make sure they stay out of her face & are calm while it’s her turn to be out but they are young & my youngest doesn’t understand anything about that or why so that’s difficult. She isn’t aggressive towards them just growls. Older kids would be just fine.

Story
My name is Shayla and I came to the shelter as a stray when a community member saw someone tie me up outside and drive away. We may not ever know the details of why I was left - but one thing is for sure, I am a sweet girl who deserves a happy place to call home! I am a little nervous of new people but give me some time and I promise I will make a great family member! I also show much better outside of my kennel, so the play-yard or a nice walk would be ideal when meeting with me. I look forward to meeting with you!

Story
Sweet Kiki is one of the best dogs! She is an affectionate little lady who just wants to show you all the love. She came into rescue with her puppies and now that they are grown, it's her time to shine! She has fun playing in the back yard with her doggie foster siblings, but her favorite pastime is being around her foster family and getting in lots of pets and snuggles. She is an extremely affectionate, medium-energy dog. She loves walks around the block but can spend a lot of her day snuggling with you on the sofa. She thinks she is a lapdog and loves to be close to her people. She will need proper and slow introductions to new people or guests entering the home. In her foster home, Kiki has been great with housetraining and using her crate. She walks happily on a leash and has been making progress on ignoring distractions she encounters outside the house (like squirrels or other dogs). She can still react to other dogs on leash, but also has been great off leash playing with other dogs! She can get nervous meeting new people and encountering new things, so she needs her new family to be patient with her as she adapts to their home and neighborhood. She learns quickly, as she loves treats and is quite intelligent. She has done well playing with dogs in a yard at doggie day care, but she is way too interested in cats for their safety. She has not interacted much with children. She enjoys a calmer environment where she can just relax on a dog bed or the couch. Kiki likes the indoor life and will be your Netflix buddy for those Saturday night binge-a-thons! If Kiki sounds like your kind of girl, fill out an application, she can't wait to meet you!

Story
Lucy is approximately 6 years old and looking for her forever home! She is a big love sponge and has never met a stranger. For the first 5 years of her life she was kept outside in a small pen but for the last year has adjusted beautifully to being an inside dog. She is crate trained and housebroken, sleeps in the crate at night and is crated with her favorite kong toy or bone when home alone. Lucy is high energy and would do best in a home with a large yard or the ability to take her on a long walk daily. She knows several basic commands and is a fast learner with endless potential to learn tricks. Lucy loves to chew on bones and toys but has never chewed any shoes or furniture. She has played well with other dogs but plays fairly rough and needs to be supervised during playtime. She injured another small dog in the home which has prompted us to rehome her. Lucy’s ideal home has no cats or small dogs.
