This handsome boy is looking for his forever home now that he is safe from a high-kill shelter in Lexington, SC. He loves to play and loves a good game of fetch with sticks and tennis balls. Apollo my chew on his toys but he does not swallow any pieces. Story
Second Chance Habitat is seeking a foster or forever home for Bari that's just as great as he is! Even his transporter to the vet fell in love with him. He was rescued from the Duplin County shelter in Kenansville, NC, and he takes such joy in being alive! He's a true sweetheart, good with humans and loves to play with other dogs. His description is below. Brindle & white Terrier, American Staffordshire mix 1 year old, 40 pounds Fully vaccinated, neutered, hw negative Bari came in as a stray to the Duplin County shelter, along with Cynthia. Both are very nice dogs, good with other dogs and are so full of joy! Bari is funny and smart--knows his commands-- and loves to raise his paw for "shake." Plus, this little guy wakes up each day with his tail wagging! In fact, the only time it's not wagging is when he is sleeping. He seems to be housebroken and very mannerly and polite. He loves riding in a car and didn't even mind going to the vet to be neutered! Okay, he didn't know about the neutering part, but he was still a good passenger! Here's what his transporter had to say about Bari: "Sometimes you just don't want to leave them. Bari is about 11 months old and 40 pounds, just a bundle of happiness. He loved riding in the car and meeting the cat at the clinic. (He was good with the cat.) He will make a wonderful addition to someone's life. He has the cutest little wiggle butt! He is adorable and I love him!" Comments from Bari's NC foster: Bari is very dedicated to his humans. A super loyal pal. He will wait at the gate or fence line for me--and loves to play fetch! He is a super pup who will want to discover new adventures with his human. He is also content to lay on his back and be loved! Bari is a good size, too, at only 40 pounds. The rescue will provide a dog crate, dog food, collar, leash and any other items Bari may need in foster care. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Bari, email adoptionsecondchance@gmail.com or text Ann at 757-630-6181.

Story
Meet Chops So this is Chops. This 10-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier (Pittie Mix) may have never seen better days. He was adopted 9 years ago and then 2 weeks ago abandoned at a neighborhood dog park with a bag of food, a dog bed, and his leash. His tags told us his name - and the number on the back side was purposefully scratched off. But we may never know the years of neglect this poor guy has suffered through. His nails were so long and curled under that he couldn't walk. He was scratching so badly that he was bleeding from his back and tail. His skin is inflamed, and his bowed legs are aching - but through all of this, he came to us with a wagging tail. Eager for love. If can you open your heart to foster or adopt this old man for the rest of his life he will thank you with sweet smiles and kisses. Simply laying in the grass and watching the birds makes him happy. For more information, please email us and request an application. We are still evaluating his health condition and his temperament with other dogs/cats/children.

Story
Pinky is currently in foster and doing great! Her foster`s report she is house trained, crate trained, does well with the cat in the home and loves belly rubs. Here`s what else they have to say`I think one of my favorite things that Pinky does is smile when I get home from work, afterI`ve been gone all day (my boyfriend was home, or got home much earlier then I) and shegets super excited and starts smiling at me. I also love how I am never lonely at home. Shelikes to follow me literally everywhere, whether that`s cleaning, watching tv, or studying, sheis very curious with everything. Also if you stop giving her bellyrubs she will lay on her backand wiggle side to side until she gets more. She loves showing off her toys as well.`

Kylo is very full of energy and love he definitely needs a yard to run in and a home with space that unfortunately I just can’t accommodate. His zoomies are A LOT LOL! He’s a big time chewer so tough toys are a must. Kylo is very treat and food possessive so best to separate feed and do not take his treats/food away by hand. He’s a good boy just needs someone with patience and the time to work with him after all he’s just a puppy 8 1/2 months old

Story
Bria is a 3.5yo, 55lb American Bully tripod. Happy, playful and spunky girl….. runs like a smiling bowl of jello. Potty trained outside and with potty pad (won’t go outside in rain or on wet ground, so uses potty pad instead). Great with people of all ages. Barrier reactive (with dogs only) but it’s under control now (will possibly need continued correction). Bria would be best suited to be the only dog in the home. She’s treat driven for training and quick to learn new commands. Best of all, she will follow you around all day and cuddle you to the end of time. She is crate trained, current on vaccines, and spayed. If interested in adopting Bria, please fill out an adoption application at operationsaveashelterdog.org. She is being fostered in Colonial Heights, VA but can go to any approved home inside or outside of the state.

Story
Introducing Wally, a dog who has somehow survived all the cruelties that life has thrown at him and still has the sweetest disposition! Wally was found wandering the land in Sampson County, NC, and is now in the safe custody of a rescuer in the area, but he needs a foster home while he recuperates from his past experiences. The poor guy is very emaciated and only weighs 40 pounds. He is little more than a skeleton but anyone who meets him is enamoured by his easy ways and gentle nature. The videos show that he is good with other dogs and cats and he didn't even complain when he got a bath! Such a good sport! Wally definitely has some bully breed in him but that ridge on top of his head could indicate a retriever gene or two as well. Whatever his breed, though, he is a wonderful pet, good on a leash and eager to please his humans! He is now fully vaccinated and will be neutered when he is healthy enough for surgery. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a sweet companion, you may want to consider Wally. He promises to be a loyal friend! Please email nancygump1@gmail.com if you are interested in fostering or adopting Wally.
