Story
1 - 5 yr old MONICA is a cute and spicy girl who arrived at VBACAC as a stray. She's amazingly cute with her 'on-the-short-side' legs and her round tummy which explains a lot of that 35-pound weight.Monica does zoomies like a champ, all with a smile a mile long on her face.Attention, pets, and love are three of her top 5 favorite things. She loves her humans as much as she loves anything. Her black fur shines bright sometimes even looking chocolate-like. Her chest holds the brightest of whites in her fur. This active girl is looking for a family who will spoil her 'til the cows come home! As we learn more about Monica, we will update this bio but don't wait for the updates! Come on out to meet her yourself! And don't forget to bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet. Let's see if we have a match! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 42.6

MEET POPROCK! He's a burst of fun & personality! POPROCK is quickly becoming a fav at the shelter. He came in as a stray so we're getting to know him more about him each day. • 1-5 years old, probably on the younger side• 50 lbs. - with pretty brindle markings and ears that do not lay down!• And a great SMILE to boot!• SWEET, FRIENDLY! Easy to meet!• Crate trained!• Very PLAYFUL! Loves to run! Loves to fetch AND a bonus - he will bring the ball back to you!• Engaging!A favorite activity - running & playing in the shelter barnyard followed by stretching out & soaking up the warmth of the sun - all with his fav toy or stuffed animal 😊The shelter is a stressful place - time out gives POPROCK an opportunity to show his joyful spirit and love of the simple things - playtime, nature, fresh air, and quiet moments to relax. He's treat motivated and is a quick learner. He might 'bounce' to grab a treat but he's quickly learning that calm & sitting pay off. He's that combo of energy & relaxation that you're looking for. We're not sure how he feels about other dogs. Older kids probably best. POPROCK is accepting visitors every day from 12:00-5:00 Don't miss your chance to meet him! Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 67 Age: 2yrs 9mths 0wks

Story
Stewie has one eye.But somehow, he sees more goodness in the world than most people do with two.Stewie was found chained in a junkyard, starving, heartworm-positive, and suffering from a devastating facial injury that ultimately cost him one of his eyes. That eye surgery was made possible through RACC's Team Tommie Fund. To everyone who proudly displays a Team Tommie license plate, thank you. Because of you, this sweet boy got the chance to become exactly who he was always meant to be.After twenty-one weeks at Animal Aid, Stewie is heartworm-free, healthy, and, thanks to regular meals and perhaps a few too many treats, pleasantly plump. And here's the remarkable part - Stewie doesn't carry around a single ounce of bitterness. His world is wonderful.Every walk's the greatest walk in the history of ambulation. Every toy's his favorite toy. Every person's the best person ever. He loves with his whole heart (and his whole body, and his big, blocky head). His tail starts wagging, and the rest of Stewie just sort of comes along for the ride. The only thing that truly makes Stewie sad is loneliness. Now that he's learned people can be kind, rub his ears, sneak him treats, and tell him he's a good boy, he misses them when they leave. In a shelter, they're always leaving. They're always gone too long. His future family will need a little patience to help him channel all that joy into good manners. But the important part is already there. Stewie's devoted, loyal, and SO eager to please. You can teach "sit." You can't teach that kind of heart. If you're looking for a perfectly calm, polished dog, Stewie probably isn't your guy.If you're looking for a dog who believes every day is worth celebrating, every person is worth loving, and every goodbye is only temporary, we'd love for you to meet Stewie. We hope you'll see what he sees.Stewie would love to meet you at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA. Visiting hours are 9am to noon, daily, including weekends & holidays.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
