Story
Wyatt lives up to his name; Brave and Courageous Rescued from an area shelter, Wyatt had come in as a stray.  They suspected that he had been attacked because of the multiple injuries and lacerations on him.  He also had hundreds of foxtails embedded in his fur that took days and finally a medicated bath to clear out.  When we saw the photos sent out by the shelter, we knew that we had to help.  Through it all, Wyatt has been sweet and very tolerant of all the handling he needed, even by strangers. This handsome boy is young (about 6/8 months old) and was in desperate need of some extra TLC and medical care.  We are happy to report that he is healthy and healing well.   He is meeting lots of new friends, human and dog, and seeks out affection and play.  He loves toys, which he likes to carry, toss and de-stuff himself.  He is comfortable on the soft couch and dog-bed but he also likes hanging out in the backyard.  He is currently getting some basic training which includes leash walking.  He appears to be house trained but, as with any puppy, his new home will need to supervise and reward where he needs to do his business.  Wyatt is gaining the confidence, training and experience a youngster needs.  We anticipate that he will be a large adult as he is still growing.    He is not going to be the dog to go on long walks or hikes but he will enjoy playtime.   If you are looking for  a very sweet, affectionate boy who is looking to love and be loved, then Wyatt is your guy.

Story
Hi I’m Lilo, a canine genius. It all started with my bizarre fascination — sipping from the kitchen tap. My foster mom had to stage a faucet intervention to teach me proper water-bowl etiquette. Once we got past my tap-drinking obsession, my insatiable curiosity took the spotlight. I explored every nook, aced treat puzzles, and kept my foster mom in stitches with my clever antics. My smarts never overshadowed my charm; my signature head tilts remained irresistibly cute. Here's to me, Lilo, the tap-converted smarty-paws who keeps life entertaining and endlessly curious! You want a pal who’s smart and an all-star cutie pants? Well, I’m the girl for you! If you are interested in meeting Lilo please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Lilo is was born in March this year and weighs 48 lbs. at 6 mo old] *$100 deposit applies if adopted before the completion of spay/neuter as scheduled. (2309)

Story
Hey! I’m Stitch! From the moment I was rescued, I was destined for a life of slapstick hilarity. I stumble into walls and fall headfirst into food bowls. My journey began when a kind-hearted human took pity on my goofy antics and took me in. I quickly discovered my true calling: making my family burst into laughter. Whether it was chasing my tail or attempting to fetch an invisible tennis ball, I am a one-dog comedy show. But you know what gets me the most? Cuddles. I would love to lay on your lap for hours! If you are interested in meeting Stitch please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. Kodak IS AVAILALBE (updated 09-23-2023).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Kodak, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22179&name=KodakKodak is an adorable and active (we aren&#39t sure that there&#39s been a word created that truly expresses or characterizes the energy level of a young Belgian Malinois, but we&#39re settling for &#39active&#39 today) Mal pup who was originally purchased by a family who hadn&#39t had a Maligator before and they weren&#39t even his first owners! At just two years old, Kodak had already been in 3 homes. This is a very driven working breed and they do not make good couch potatoes nor are they happy with just two walks a day.Now around 4 years old, Kodak is sweet, happy, friendly, and fast became a volunteer favorite. Initially, he may bark in new situations, but he warms up quickly, knows basic obedience, and is good on a leash. He absolutely adores toys of all kinds and can spend hours chasing down balls (i.e. drive for dayyyyyyys).Kodak has good food and toy drive, so he excels in obedience classes. He bonds quickly, wants to be with you, and will be a wonderful addition to his new family as long as they make a commitment to giving him the training and guidance that he needs. He will do best in a home with no young children. Please know that WE WILL ONLY PLACE HIM IN A HOME WITH PREVIOUS MALINOIS EXPERIENCE.Watch his video here. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.September 23, 2023, 6:23 am

For more information and the adoption application for Leah, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22329&name=LeahLeah came to us a terrified, shut down, feral dog whom animal control had confiscated from a very bad situation. She was so shut down, it took a long (long!) time to get her to allow any type of interaction with humans. We spent month after month earning her trust, socializing her, and teaching her to overcome her many fears. Around 3 years old, she moved from the training facility into a foster home and is doing fantastic, but will need a special adopter. At first, she was scared to enter the house, the tile scared her, and it took coaxing for her to enter. Leah now seeks affection, is playing with toys, plays with her human foster, is totally comfortable being inside, crate trained, potty trained, and is learning that the world isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t such a scary place. She went to the beach for the first time and loved it!While she&#39s your normal, energetic Maligator in her foster home, she is still figuring out the world outside of those doors. She spends time every day being exposed to new things, but when she&#39s scared she does try to bolt. She used to hit the end of the leash and frantically chew to break free (which is why she wears a long fur saver), but now, when something new and loud is that scary, she bolts and stops when she hits the end of the leash, even going into a sit. Leah is a jaw snapping, toy playing, chew obsessed Malinois in her home and is going to need someone who understands Mals, who can supply structure, who is patient, and who can slowly build trust with her. Because she&#39s such a flight risk, we are going to be very careful about where we place her, because she means the world to us.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. They were being given away &#39free to good home&#39 and were rescued by an animal lover who didn&#39t want to see them land in the wrong hands! Fiona settled into the kennel life very easily and charmed her way into the hearts of all of the volunteers. She needed treatment for a cancerous tumor that she likely got when she became pregnant with her pups. The good news here is that she is done with her treatments and has been cancer free for over 6 months! Yay for Fiona! Fiona would love a home to call her own. She has been to obedience training, knows all her basic commands and walks well on a leash. She would do best in a home with older kids and no other dogs or cats. She loves car rides and would love an active lifestyle! If Fiona sounds like a fit for you, please let us know.
