Story
Wyatt lives up to his name; Brave and Courageous Rescued from an area shelter, Wyatt had come in as a stray.  They suspected that he had been attacked because of the multiple injuries and lacerations on him.  He also had hundreds of foxtails embedded in his fur that took days and finally a medicated bath to clear out.  When we saw the photos sent out by the shelter, we knew that we had to help.  Through it all, Wyatt has been sweet and very tolerant of all the handling he needed, even by strangers. This handsome boy is young (about 6/8 months old) and was in desperate need of some extra TLC and medical care.  We are happy to report that he is healthy and healing well.   He is meeting lots of new friends, human and dog, and seeks out affection and play.  He loves toys, which he likes to carry, toss and de-stuff himself.  He is comfortable on the soft couch and dog-bed but he also likes hanging out in the backyard.  He is currently getting some basic training which includes leash walking.  He appears to be house trained but, as with any puppy, his new home will need to supervise and reward where he needs to do his business.  Wyatt is gaining the confidence, training and experience a youngster needs.  We anticipate that he will be a large adult as he is still growing.    He is not going to be the dog to go on long walks or hikes but he will enjoy playtime.   If you are looking for  a very sweet, affectionate boy who is looking to love and be loved, then Wyatt is your guy.

Story
Astrid was originally found wandering stray here in Burbank. Astrid is a LARGE Armenian Gampr weighing in at 125 healthy pounds. She would not make a good first time dog because of her size, she needs someone with lots of large or extra large dog breed experience in order for her to thrive in her forever home. Anatolian Shepherds are not recommended for apartment life. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do best with at least a large yard. Fencing should be 6 feet tall at least so she cannot jump over her fence. Her future owner will have to continue working with her on socialization with other people to make sure she is an upstanding citizen for her size and breed. Though Astrid is 2 years old, she still acts like a puppy at times and doesn`t know how large she is. She loves to sit on your lap and thinks she is a lap dog! Astrid tends to get overstimulated and excited and will run around and jump in the air. An ADULT ONLY HOME with XL breed experience is required. Astrid will need basic obedience, potty training and leash training as most shelter and rescue dogs do. Astrid has been introduced to other dogs, however she has shown she cannot be trusted around other dogs. She has also been adopted out once before and then returned less than 24 hours later for not getting along with the other dogs in the household. Astrid is an awesome gentle giant and a staff favorite here at the shelter however cannot go to a home with other animals.

Story
Blankie was surrendered to us because his family was moving to an apartment and could not bring Blankie with them. Blankie grew up with a 4 year old and he has proved to be a somewhat gentle giant but still acts like a puppy at times. If he were to go to a family with kids they will be required to meet Blankie before we can approve and adoption. Furthermore, Blankie will need a home with access to a medium to large sized yard so he can stretch his very long legs (also 6` secure fencing is a must). Blankie grew up as the only animal in the household and we feel he will do best as the only animal moving forward as well. Blankie is extremely sweet and affectionate, he loves being pet and getting scritches once he has done a patrol of the play yard. He will need a minimum of 45 mins-1 hr of exercise everyday. He is a very strong boy and will need a strong owner as well as someone patient enough to put some work into training him. Blankie was kept as a backyard dog so he will need to be acclimated to being in a home with a family as well as will need to be potty trained.

Story
Hi I’m Lilo, a canine genius. It all started with my bizarre fascination — sipping from the kitchen tap. My foster mom had to stage a faucet intervention to teach me proper water-bowl etiquette. Once we got past my tap-drinking obsession, my insatiable curiosity took the spotlight. I explored every nook, aced treat puzzles, and kept my foster mom in stitches with my clever antics. My smarts never overshadowed my charm; my signature head tilts remained irresistibly cute. Here's to me, Lilo, the tap-converted smarty-paws who keeps life entertaining and endlessly curious! You want a pal who’s smart and an all-star cutie pants? Well, I’m the girl for you! If you are interested in meeting Lilo please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Lilo is was born in March this year and weighs 48 lbs. at 6 mo old] *$100 deposit applies if adopted before the completion of spay/neuter as scheduled. (2309)

Story
Hey! I’m Stitch! From the moment I was rescued, I was destined for a life of slapstick hilarity. I stumble into walls and fall headfirst into food bowls. My journey began when a kind-hearted human took pity on my goofy antics and took me in. I quickly discovered my true calling: making my family burst into laughter. Whether it was chasing my tail or attempting to fetch an invisible tennis ball, I am a one-dog comedy show. But you know what gets me the most? Cuddles. I would love to lay on your lap for hours! If you are interested in meeting Stitch please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. Story
Dakota Jones is a silly and sweet gentle giant who absolutely loves affection and being social! She is playful and loves humans of all ages. According to her foster, her favorite things include belly rubs, tennis balls, and treats. She is house trained, good on leash, and can be safely left home alone. Dakota will need to be the only animal in the home as she can sometimes be reactive to other dogs on leash and can be a strong puller when she sees cats, but her goofy ways will be all you need! She is very playful, likes to play fetch and sometimes gets zoomies and likes to chase you around the home. She plays hide and seek with her foster and will even chase lights similar to a cat playing with a laser pointer. Inquire about this funny senior lady today! Dakota's current foster says , "Dakota is the SWEETEST most LOVING girl! She loves being with her human, she loves belly rubs, she does very well at home by herself and is completely house trained. She can hold it for 8-10 hours. She LOVES curling up with her human, chewing on toys, wagging her tail, and taking walks. She is extremely well behaved on the leash and has been very gentle with me. She is a good eater, uses the restroom regularly, and is not a picky eater. Dakota truly is a beautiful and loving dog. She would make someone a magnificent companion and pet. She should probably be the only doggy in the household. Please consider her. She truly is one of a kind. "
