Please fill out an adoption application at mamcorescue.org or attend one of our Saturday adoption event. Events are held each Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at our office: 2721 W Oxford Ave., Suite 6 Englewood, CO 80110 *In order to protect our puppies, we do not allow puppies to attend open events until they have a minimum of two vaccinations. Puppies who are available, but not listed on our weekly Facebook event, are considered "deposit only" puppies. These puppies will only attend the event IF they are reserved through a deposit. You can check the list of puppies attending the open event by checking the event: https://www.facebook.com/MAMCORescue  At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. ##1868580##

Story
Hi there, I'm Lizzy! I'm still a pup, so I have plenty of energy for play and adventure. I'm sweet as sugar, always eager to make new friends. I'm gentle with everyone I meet, even the smallest creatures. I'm brave too, nothing seems to scare me. I love to cuddle up after a long day of fun, feeling safe and loved. I'm loyal to a fault, always sticking by my friends. I'm mellow, never getting too worked up over anything. I'd love to share my sweetness, bravery, and loyalty with you. I'm just waiting for my forever home where I can be your faithful companion. Adopt me and let's make some wonderful memories together! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas at least monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. ##1971509##

Story
Winning raves in her foster home is tenderhearted 2-year-old Rachel! Worth her 35 pounds in pure doggy gold, she gets an “A” for being the most adorable and affectionate cuddle bug around. Cuter than cute when she stands on her back paws, she loves anything that will get her love and attention: she rests her head on her foster mom, shows her paw for more love, rolls over for belly rubs, and performs an eye-catching ranger crawl. The ideal work from home partner, she checks up on her foster mom every once in a while, but otherwise sleeps around the house. Following a slow introduction to the two resident dogs, Rachel’s been very sweet and not only loves them but is most respectful of the resident cat. While she hasn’t yet shown any interest in toys, she LOVES dog beds, lounging on the couch, and going for walks, walking very well on her leash without pulling. She also loves getting a Dentastix/greenies every morning, loves any treats and peanut butter, and accepts them all gently. Motivated by love and attention, followed by food, she currently knows “come,” “sit,” and “no,” is crate-trained and almost fully house-trained. Now Rachel hopes to win raves in an especially attentive home that will teach her the rest of her commands and keep her both adored and active fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $300. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Sheldon is a sweet young boy. He loves meeting people and is a little shy around other dogs but becomes very friendly once comfortable. He’s clumsy but very smart. Any toy is his favorite toy. Still teething so he loves chew toys. Sheldon is mostly potty trained, except that he gets so excited meeting new people that sometimes he can’t hold it. Loves to cuddle! He is doing great with crate training! He listens very well and knows when he does something wrong and corrects himself quickly. ##1916871##

Story
Gunner is a special guy that loves humans and will wag his little nub of a tail non-stop! He will need a patient and loving human for his new forever home. He is an 8-9 yo mini-Aussie. He is overweight at 38 pounds and should be closer to 24-25 pounds. He’s been working on losing weight, and his new owner will need to support him in his weight loss journey. He loves going for walks (which helps the weight loss journey) and is good on a leash.  He will need to have some basic training as he does bark at other dogs that pass by on the walk. He will potty while on a leash, so a fenced yard is not required.  Gunner will need to be an only dog. He has a pretty good prey drive, so cats are not recommended in his new home. He is crate trained and potty trained. He is neutered, utd on vaccines, HW-, and chipped.  If you’re interested in fostering Gunner until his forever home is found, please complete a foster application on our website: https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms If interested in meeting Gunner and giving him a forever home, you can complete our application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require an application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Gunner’s adoption fee is $250.00 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.  February 22, 2024, 11:04 am

Story
Mae Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees Mix Female 3 years old 93 lbs Hi, I’m Mae! I’m the ultimate companion for all your Colorado adventures, and I’ll curl up with you on the couch for lots of snuggles once the day is over. I’m such a love and I can’t wait to find a forever home of my very own! I’m a calm and easygoing dog with the people I know and love and am very gentle with little people. I enjoy rambling in the snow, camping trips, and hiking, and I’m also great company if you’d rather spend the day reading or working from home. I have an easy going way about me at home and I always love being with my people. I’m also crate-trained, but I don’t usually need one at home because I’m a well-behaved pup. I’m potty trained as well! I do need a home with a fenced yard (and a quieter environment overall) so please no apartments for me please! You can count on me to be your best friend and loyal companion! While I am really comfortable with those I know and love, I am a guardian breed and am naturally wary of new people, especially new people that visit my home. I do best being introduced to new people outside of my home (and even then, I need someone to go slow with me and understand that meeting new people isn’t the easiest for me.) However, I do great with other people and dogs in neutral environments like parks. I’m a very loyal pup to my humans and that sometimes results in me being overprotective to someone outside of my “trust circle” I’d do best in a quieter environment where we don’t have a ton of new visitors and my human doesn’t need or expect me to meet new people a lot in general. I also can get really overwhelmed out of the home where I feel like I need to defend my humans (for example, at a brewery) and I have nipped at new people in those situations. Therefore, I’ll thrive in a home where my human has a quieter lifestyle overall and can consider what situations I will do best in outside of the home. I usually do really well on a leash. But, occasionally I see a dog I don’t like and I am a big girl! So I will need an adopter who is able to manage a big dog on leash when I’m pulling (and a harness is very important for me!) I have done well meeting dogs out and about on walks but I’ve never lived with a dog so I can’t share how I’d do with another dog in the home. I do need a cat free home! Are you ready for the most loyal, loving dog friend? Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you! "PawsCo is committed to helping me thrive with my new family, so they will sponsor up to three virtual training sessions with our training partner GoodPup to help me settle into my new home!"

Story
Mae is a 3 yo, beautiful, tall, white dog. She is deeply loyal and protective. Mae needs slow introductions when new people enter her territory, lots of hot dogs and/or offsite introductions help. Mae is very calm, but likes to keep one eye on her surroundings and barks loudly if she senses a threat. Mae walks well on a leash and loves hiking and mountain biking. Mae plays well with other dogs at doggie day care, but occasionally barks at passing dogs on walks. Mae has grown up with kids, but no with other animals. Her breeds are livestock guardians, and she demonstrates traditional characteristics of those breeds. She is headstrong and fiercely independent, bred to independently manage livestock with little human supervision. Those characteristics can make these breeds difficult to train, but positive reinforcement training has been effective for Mae, who responds to basic commands. Overall, Mae is a deeply loyal guardian who will offer endless love to you and your family.

Story
Mocha is a great dog,  she loves all people and kids - the youngest she has been around is 2 years old. She does pretty good with other dogs but she's a bit timid and goes to get belly pretty fast, if she's comfortable with them she plays tough. She walks good on leash but for the first few minutes will pull with excitement. She knows basic commands, is kennel and potty trained and she loves to cuddle.  She thinks she is a lap dog! *Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, we have reformatted the way that we do adoptions in order to follow social distancing protocols. We are thrilled that so many people want to adopt right now, but we are not equipped to handle the large number of calls, applications, and email inquiries we are receiving. We are no longer answering phone calls and are doing all communications with adopters via email. If you have a dog you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application before sending us emails. When your application has been processed, you will receive an email from us with further instructions on how to adopt. You do not need a new application for every dog that you are interested in adopting.  At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. Adoption fees vary, but all include spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccinations and deworming, rabies vaccine at the time of spay or neuter, and 30 days of pet insurance. We also cover hernia repair and cherry eye repair at the time of spay or neuter. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. ##735151##
