Story
Bubbie is the kind of dog that bonds deeply with his person. Not in a chaotic or demanding way—he just genuinely wants to be near the people he loves and be part of their life. Bubbie is a young white shepherd mix with the tall frame of a German Shepherd but a much leaner, lighter build. He’s athletic, affectionate, and very emotionally connected to his humans. He was previously adopted and returned because he became very attached to his adopter. For the right person, though, that’s not a flaw—it’s exactly what makes him special. He’s the kind of dog who forms real relationships. Bubbie is also great with other dogs and with cats, making him an easy fit for many multi-pet households. He enjoys companionship and settles in well around other animals. What stands out most about him is his heart. He’s sensitive, loyal, and happiest when he feels connected to his people. Good fit: someone wanting a deeply loyal companion and who appreciates a dog that forms strong emotional bonds. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? What we know: Litter of 8 (2M, 6F) transferred from Operation Pawprints in TX. Litter was found with their mom at a few days old and mom was spayed and adopted by their Texas foster. Puppies transferred to CPR at 8 weeks old. From the foster: Meet the pup who will steal your heart the moment you look into his gorgeous, soulful green eyes. This boy is all love, all the time. Floppy, gentle, and oh-so good-hearted, he brings pure joy to every room he walks into — and every person he meets. Listed as an Anatolian Shepherd mix, he's clearly a delightful mystery blend — and if those floppy ears and soulful eyes have a little beagle in the mix, we are absolutely here for it. When his foster mom gardens, he parks himself on her feet and leans his head against her leg, perfectly content just to be near. At the end of the day (or after a long day of watching his foster siblings lacrosse games), he will crash out in your arms on the field or between your legs on the sofa. He is a companion through and through. He shares his foster home with a one-year-old pup, and the two of them tumble through the house like a joyful little tornado — absolute entertainment from start to finish. He also lives with a 16-year-old dog, and has learned all on his own to be gentle and respectful around the old man. That says everything about his character at just three months old. He loves all people and all dogs. He hasn't been introduced to cats yet, but given how open and gentle he is with everyone he meets, we'd expect him to extend that same warmth to a feline housemate too. He does let out a small cry when his foster brother leaves — he's a dog who loves connection and company. A home with another dog would be a dream, but what he truly needs most is a warm, loving family to call his own. He is working hard on potty training — no accidents in his crate! — and is getting better at sleeping through the night. He's not quite ready to be left unsupervised in the house yet, but he is trying so hard and making real progress every day. His foster mom says it best: "One of the best I've ever fostered. He has all the best parts of dogs, and then some." He will make the perfect companion to literally any family. Come meet those green eyes — you won't be able to walk away. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
