Story
Mocha is a great dog,  she loves all people and kids - the youngest she has been around is 2 years old. She does pretty good with other dogs but she's a bit timid and goes to get belly pretty fast, if she's comfortable with them she plays tough. She walks good on leash but for the first few minutes will pull with excitement. She knows basic commands, is kennel and potty trained and she loves to cuddle.  She thinks she is a lap dog! *Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, we have reformatted the way that we do adoptions in order to follow social distancing protocols. We are thrilled that so many people want to adopt right now, but we are not equipped to handle the large number of calls, applications, and email inquiries we are receiving. We are no longer answering phone calls and are doing all communications with adopters via email. If you have a dog you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application before sending us emails. When your application has been processed, you will receive an email from us with further instructions on how to adopt. You do not need a new application for every dog that you are interested in adopting.  At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary, but all include spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccinations and deworming, rabies vaccine at the time of spay or neuter, and 30 days of pet insurance. We also cover hernia repair and cherry eye repair at the time of spay or neuter. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. ##735151##

Story
I am relocating and unfortunately won’t be able to take him with me. Jakobie’a birthday is May 2, 2016 and we bought him from a pet store at 6 weeks. Jakobie is good with other dogs (although he gets excited) children and women. He is fond of men however he has snipped at men on 2 separate occasions when they have tried nose to nose. He did not bite them or break the skin but it was clear that he was uncomfortable. Jakobie is a lazy lovable bundle of joy who loves attention as much as he enjoys sitting alone in a corner. He has been the only dog in our home and has had full access to the back yard. Jakobie is house broken and does not have accidents however he has marked his territory in various places in our home….primarily on my husband and oldest son’s property. It has broken my heart to come to the decision of rehoming him because I love him dearly and he is apart of my family but I have no choice. I am hoping to find a responsible family who is willing to shower him with love.

Story
Gaia the English mastiff! She is on the smaller side for a mastiff. Very well behaved and super quiet. If she needs to go potty she’ll let you know. Gaia is very intelligent considering that her breed is not known for intelligence. She can be stubborn at times but she’s not dominant and won’t need a stern owner, just an owner that can give her lots of affection because she is a very sentimental Mastiff. Loves to play catch and tug a war also loves getting chased. If you are not home it’s better to leave her in the kennel because she gets anxious and will reach for food if no one is around. She is also use to getting up late in the morning because I work at night and wake up around 10am. She can get use to any schedule and all her shots are up to date. It’s very easy to walk her I have even off leash walked her and she does great. She’s a lazy breed but if you take her for a walk she’ll love it. Easy to have her indoors. She is good with small dogs. She is 2 years old

Story
This is Zeus. I adopted him from a shelter in August of 22. He was listed as a mastiff mix, I'm not sure of his exact breeds. I'm thinking some Corso and maybe even Presa . His ears and tail are not cut. He has the funniest curly tail that does not go with the rest of his body. He is a big big boy (about 120 pounds) and very very strong. He loves people. He is very protective of his people and home. My kids are older so unsure how he is with smaller children. He does okay with bigger dogs but I don't know how he is with smaller dogs. He listens well and is very affectionate. He thinks he's a lap dog and loves to cuddle. He has a lot of energy and is very athletic. He needs an active home. He can easily jump a 4 foot fence so a 6 foot is necessary. He needs some leash work because he does pull and will react when other dogs bark at him. I'm rehoming him due to a divorce. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I love him and want his new owners to love him as much as I do.

Story
This pup was rescued with its littermates from a crowded shelter in New Mexico.   We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##1971911##
